Owner Description

Year Purchased: 1990

My husband, Bob, and I own sea lodge #20 at Cayman Kai, along with his 3 other siblings. We've been visiting Grand Cayman for over 30 years. Quite a bit has changed on the island in that time, however our little corner in Northside is surprisingly unchanged. Yes, the road is now paved, and public water has just been installed, but the quiet, secluded nature of our end of the island is still quite special.

Bob and I own a restaurant in Worcester, Massachusetts called Wild Willy's Burgers. Great food and lots of fun. We hope you will visit Cayman someday and enjoy.

It is paradise....

We traveled with our 12 year old daughter who complained "what no TV?", but in the end she loved the place as long as she could play her games on ipad and laptop. We loved sleeping with the ocean sound at night. This place is so secluded and it felt like having the ocean to ourselves. We even built a bond fire on the beach with 2 next doors neighbor. We give this place an Execellent review, but with an exception of both my daughter and I got bit by who knows what (mosquito, sea buck, not sure...)... My husband didn't get any bite mark. We definitely will consider coming back.

Our family stayed here on spring break in March 2009. We looked for a long time for a place away from all the crowds, and closer to the natural beauty of the Carribean. This sea lodge fit our needs and desires perfectly, with a spectacular view of the water, the beach right out the back door, snorkel gear and bikes, and convenient location to Rum Point and dive center. The open air architecture and overhead fans gives a back-to-nature feel, but with all the conveniences for cooking, and nice, clean furniture and lodge. The place was very clean, with no sand inside! If you want to get away from the crowds, and enjoy a relaxing Carribean beach vacation, this is a great place to stay! We look forward to going back.

My husband and 2 teenagers made our 5th visit to to this property in July. We sometimes prefer the convenience and glamour of the Ritz but more and more we seek the solitude and beauty of nature and the real luxury of privacy. Mornings at simple pleasures begin with coffee on the beach (often just us) and end with cocktails on the beach. Most of the day is spent jogging, biking, snorkeling, scuba diving - with a midday nap and some reading thrown in. We dined-in often but also enjoyed some very fine dining at Ritz Carlton and Papagallo in Georgetown. Good, fun casual dining is a short walk up the beach to Rum Point which is also the launching point for dive trips and exciting but easy trips to the famous sting ray city. (2 hrs total) An excellent place on Sunday to hang out with the locals as they party and play in the water. The property is simple but very clean and well-equipped with a comfy king bed and cots on the screened porch for our boys. We will return to this true escape over and over to enjoy the gin-clear water, fascinating sea life, sun, sand and solitude of the Simple Pleasures.
