I have had the benefit of traveling to Jamaica and staying the The Highland House 3 times. Each with a group of friends, and not always the same group. The staff, the property, the food, the organic gardens, the decor, the view... All top notch! I can't wait for my next trip to the house. It is a favorite destination for rest and relaxation.

Highland House villa was the most amazing escape. As a Yoga teacher and practitioner I have settled with rolling out my mat just about anywhere. However, at Highland House I felt like I was transported to the East when I entered the Yoga Pavilion. Surrounded by the most amazing gardens and view of Montego bay and the Caribbean sea. To wake up and look out at the glistening water with the Jade Buddha sitting above, and to sit and watch the sunset over the city while the sparkling lights came to life. Staying at Highland made me feel like a star in my own Jame's Bond film, the staff are professional, thoughtful and personable and the deep restful sleep I had while there hasn't been replicated since. I'm ready to go back!

Hammerstein Highland House (HHH) is a charming, iconic and lovely villa. I have always wanted to stay at HHH given its rich history and its reputation for beautiful decor and luxurious accommodations. It is a gem of architecture, worth walking around to notice all of the beautiful touches. Everywhere you look there is a detail of beautiful history. I was so happy with every aspect of our trip. From the moment we checked in, we felt pampered throughout our stay. From reception to housekeeping, any small request was cheerfully accommodated. There is a reason we return over and over to this luxurious villa...not only is the location perfect; we always feel like special guests.

I had a wonderful experience at the Villa. The staff is exceptional and very very welcoming and gracious. I loved my bedroom which looks out onto the most beautiful view. One of my favorite places was where we ate our breakfast and lunch meals. It is outdoors, open on three sides, surrounded by flowers that often have hummingbirds feasting. The thing that keeps me returning is the welcome that begins as soon as I step from the van. I always hate to leave with the time comes.

Yes, the grounds are gorgeous and you feel in the lap of luxury at Highland House. But it is the staff that makes a stay here a transformative experience. Attention to detail, warmth, professionalism, and service that cannot be compared to any hotel or vacation I have enjoyed.

As my big 4.0. was coming up... researching different countries & villas, I remembered what amazing times I had before at the Highland House. The villa and the estate are fabulous, but the staff just makes the stay over the top. Sherry ann is an awesome cook. Dewayne was on top of anything we needed throughout the stay. Hhh is great for a big group ( who all didn't know each other), with each bedroom having it's own privacy. But it's also very magical how the group leaves HHH friends for life ! Hhh is a Guarantee Great time !

The location, staff, food, services, view, home, property, weather are just perfect. The Montego Bay area of Jamaica is great for golf, shoping, water sports and just the area. swe go with 5 other couples and have a great time. If you like to just relax the house is great for reading and enjoying the world.

I just wanted to touch base with you and let you know what an amazing time we had at the villa. The wedding was perfect and the location blew away our guests. Many of them had not been off the resort and they saw a whole other side of Jamaica that day. The Highland House will forever hold a very special place in hearts and we hope to return one day for an extended stay. I will literally never forget it....I get weepy just thinking about how it's all over now. It deserves to be mentioned that your staff are amazing. I'm not sure Ernest and Dwayne will soon forget the crazy Canadian girls they met the night of Nov. 6th:) My maid of honour was on fire that night and it was an on-going joke that she was going to marry Dwayne too! They said they hadn't laughed that much in a long time.....we definitely had fun. But, they worked so hard on the grounds and the set up (moving furniture etc) and were always there for anything you needed. My mother asked for some fresh leaves and flowers to tie around a couple pillars (she was decor queen) and Ernest went out and outdid himself. It was just amazing how accommodating they were and I'm not sure they know the word 'No.' :)) Ken and I couldn't be more happy with how everything turned out and I can't wait to write a glowing review on Trip Advisor.

Just returned from a wonderful week at Highland House (late February 2011) and was happy to escape the cold and snow that we have had this winter. What a wonderful and welcome transformation. We considered most of the local villas but chose Highland House as what we thought was the best value and I think we make the right choice. When you divide the cost by five or six couples, you can’t beat the price. We had enough in our budget to also arrange for a van and driver who took us anywhere we wanted to go. We were greeted by our driver at the airport and fifteen minutes later we were at Highland House picking out our bedrooms and changing into casual clothes and swim wear for a dip in the pool before lunch was served. The site was amazing with beautiful gardens around the villa and extraordinary views of Montego Bay. All the accommodations were clean and comfortable. Only the sixth bedroom was small, but still had its own private bath. We had our choice of many sitting areas for reading, chatting, or enjoying cold drinks served to us poolside. You can see the photos on this web site – we were not disappointed. The staff was terrific, constantly cleaning up after us, making our beds, doing our laundry and most of all, preparing delicious meals for us. They were always accommodative of our requests for an early or late meal and were willing to cook anything we wished, although we asked them to choose our meals for us so we could sample the island delicacies of fish, chicken, and pork. Save room for the deserts – they are incredible!

One of the most fantastic things about Highland House is the incredible view that overlooks the Montego Bay harbor as you enjoy your morning coffee. Whether I was lounging by the pool listening to easy grooves or practicing Yoga in the open air wooden studio, or picking a juicy tomato from the garden, I was a happy camper all weekend. Ohhh, and when you go, don't forget to ask for Sherrie's margherita pizza made with fresh Basil from the property...Yumm!

Highland House is an amazing place. The view of the bay is unmatched. The staff are warm, polite, and intently focused on the guests' enjoyment. The food is some of the best I've had anywhere in the world. With free access to the Round Hill Resort and other beaches nearby, the location is convenient yet serene as it's tucked back into the hills. This is a perfect place for a large family or group to visit. The value, compared to other resorts on the island and elsewhere, is unbeatable. We can't wait to go back.

We rented Highland House for a Family Gathering. Twelve of us stayed at Highland House and another ten stayed at a local 5-Star Resort. Everyone gathered at HHH for truly amazing Dinners and parties. The HHH Staff also arranged guides & transport to take all of us to see amazing backcountry sites, waterfalls, markets & villages. It was a spectacular "trip-of-a-lifetime" for all. Hhh is a very special & magical place. The extensive grounds are absolutely beautiful and the views of greater Montego Bay are spectacular. At HHH you feel so far away from it all... you can relax like never before... And yet everything - from exceptional Golf at Tyrol to the exclusive Beach Facilities at Round Hill is close by & accesssible. We enjoyed it all. But most importantly the Staff of HHH is truly Exceptional. True, quiet, comforting & personal service. Service of a world that is truly rare these days. And the meals - both formal and informal - were truly excellent. The Chef & Staff prepared meals which blended local natural ingredients into the finest European cooking. Every meal was magical.

Beyond excellent food. Friendly, amiable staff, helpful and knowledgeable staff- wonderful people. Stunning views, refreshing open-air atmosphere, breathtakingly beautiful grounds and gardens. Highland House provides opportunity to experience the "real" Jamaica- outside all-inclusive resorts and hotels. The home's history only adds to the one-of-a-kind experience. Getting to know the people of Jamaica, day trips to Negril, the cliffs, and other other adventures will never be forgotten. We had a great time. A couple highlights: Ernest did some dare-devil stuff when he climbed up a coconut tree. We were terrified but somehow he survived and we enjoyed the coconuts.The food was superb in house. The dinner at the restaurant was fun, too. It inspired me to steam some red snappers here in Boston, which worked out better than expected. Round Hill is a great place—friendly, not too big, nice beach. We never made it to Tryall b/c we settled into to Round Hill. The evenings on the patio were perfect. Thanks for everything. We’ll be back! Regards, Jason

The scenic landscape, peaceful surroundings, attention to detail on the property, food and ambience matched well for our business meeting. The home was magnificent and the service was exceptional. Special bonus especially was the terrace from which "The Sound of Music" score was written. There is magic on that terrace as you overlook Montego Bay far below from the hills. We did our very best work from that terrace.

HI! We had an awesome trip. The weather was beautiful, hot and sunny. The house was great. Everything was in tip top shape. One of the best. It is perfect for a few families. The pool was one of the biggest that went deeper then most which the kids liked. We have never stayed on the mountain and not near the beach and I was afraid I wouldn't like it as much but I really did. The view was the most amazing and it was not far into town and we were able to go to a few different beaches a couple of times and the staff recommended a water fall in the mountains that was out of this world. Hardly anyone was there like Dunn River Falls and it was beautiful. One of the greatest perks was free phone calls to the United States . Loved that. Also it was different for us to pay for everything in advance. It was nice not to have to worry about all of that at the end of out stay. We also really liked the spa option was included. We had the lady come for the whole day and she was the very best. I wish she could do that at all our villas we stay at. She was very inexpensive too for how long she stayed and all the people she massaged and she gave a few girls pedicures. A+ rating! Thanks. I am sure we will be back to Jamaica next year. Thank you so much for the hospitality extended to us during our stay at Highland House. We had a wonderful time. The villa is gorgeous and very comfortable. Your staff is excellent. The villa modifications you have completed are really beautiful and functional. -Villa staff is professional and competent. Meals were delicious. We liked that some of the vegetables were coming from the villa gardens and organic. -The grounds were well kept and looked beautiful. I loved wondering around in the morning while it was still cool.
