If you are looking for the perfect mountain getaway, plan your vacation with us in the Eastern Panhandle of West Virginia. Heaven's Landing Retreat is located in the heart of the Potomac Highlands at Medley, West Virginia on a 90 acre working farm with wonderful mountain views, ponds, creeks, and wildlife. We are approximately 2-3 hours drive from the following major cities, Washington DC, Baltimore, and Pittsburg. We have lodging, camping facilities, RV sites, and a conference room capable of seating 70 people.
Heaven's Landing Airstrip (4WV4) a smooth 2000 foot long grass airstrip at 1220 foot elevation is available to our fly in guests with prior permission. Aircraft hangars and tie downs are available on site.
The Medley Farm House, our picturesque country vacation rental, open year round, has 4 bedrooms. The first floor includes one bedroom, a full bath with a Jacuzzi, a complete kitchen with cooking utensils, a separate dining room, and a living room with a hide-a-bed sofa. The upstairs features a common sitting room with a sink, microwave, and small refrigerator. The upstairs bathroom includes a shower and is conveniently located in the corner of sitting room. Wrapped around the sitting room are three bedrooms with their own distinct individual style so you can pick your favorite room. The sitting room also has a hide-a-bed couch which gives a total of 6 beds for our guests using the Medley Farm House. A serene setting for getting away with your friends and family. This is the perfect place for your next church retreat, family reunion, men's group, women's group, and small group activities.

Over thirty years ago, during his first flight over West Virginia, Mitch knew he wanted to share the adventure with others. Mitch, an Airline Pilot holds an Airline Pilot Transport Rating in Single and Multi-Engine aircraft with several Type Ratings, Flight Instructor Ratings and Aircraft Mechanic Ratings. His Comanche 260, a proven single engine, retractable gear aircraft is unsurpassed for it's speed, reliability and safety. The Comanche holds 3 people in addition to the pilot. We also have a new Maule MX-7-180B bush aircraft providing Scenic Flight Tours and tail wheel training. Just Plane Adventures can make your Flight Training a Vacation with a purpose! Mitch and Teresa Pennington, their family, friends and neighbors have been at work building Heaven's Retreat on their farm in Medley, West Virginia. As founders of Visions Beyond Ministries, a (501c3) non profit organization, the Pennington’s have been Fostering Christian Retreats in Aviation Settings since 1996.
The main focus of this ministry is to provide Christian Camping and Retreat Facilities for marriage enrichment, romantic getaways, seminars and conferences. Teresa is currently facilitating a women’s bible study on Tuesday evenings. As our secretary, she coordinates the ministry activities, and vacation rental activities for our guest from our hangar home at Heaven’s Landing Retreat.
In addition, their involvement as members of the International Association of Missionary Aviation has challenged them to promote missionary aviation. They network with missionary organizations to recruit, mentor, and direct the next generation of missionary aviation professionals.
Mitch provides on site Missionary Pilot Training using the Maule Aircraft teaching bush pilot flight techniques to better prepare those pilots headed to the back country. For more information ask us for the website link.

We chose to build here on the farm in Medley, West Virginia after determining that it was feasible to put in our own private airstrip on the mountain behind the vacation rental.
