This beautiful home is located near the best beach in Aruba, Palm Beach, which is close to Eagle and Arashi Beaches, the California Lighthouse, Divi and Tierra Del Sol golfing, casinos, fine dining and just about every water sport imaginable, including wind/kite surfing. Walking out onto the covered patio you will be offered a view of a cactus grove with wild green parrots and iguana, a Brazilian stone lounging area surrounding a 463 sf (43 sm) backyard swimming pool (beautifully lighted at night), and a view of the salt pond, and in the distance, the Caribbean and its spectacular sunsets.
We are receiving inquiries almost daily, so we must honor confirmed reservations on a first come, first serve basis. The best method to inquire is email, which we check several times per day. While stays can be for as few as 4 nights during the rest of the year, we request a stay of at least 7 nights during the holiday season. The weekly rate will be prorated by night, as at other times of the year.
The house is fully furnished and has 3.5 baths and 4 bedrooms; prices vary with the season and year. One of the bedrooms is the master bedroom with private bath, two bedrooms have twins beds that can be converted to king beds, and the fourth is a larger bedroom with a king size bed, mini-kitchen and private bathroom.
Check out time is 10:00 am and check in time is 3:00 pm; this will allow the maid plenty of time to get the house prepared for our next guests. Pets are welcome for an additional cleaning fee of $50 per week.
The living room features two sofas, two loveseats, and a dining table that seats 8. On the patio and around the pool, there are two tables that seat 10 people comfortably. Also provided is a gas grill.
Cable TV offering 57 channels is hooked to TVs in the living room; the living room TV has a DVD player and VCR. In the living room there is also a 3 CD/cassette/am-fm entertainment center. And throughout the house, there is high speed Wi-Fi access through our wireless router. Also, the house has a telephone that can be used for local and international incoming calls and outgoing local calls.
A five minute walk is Palm Beach, a beautiful white sandy beach where the the Pro Am wind-surfing tournament is held annually. There are also plenty of white sandy beaches up and down the west coast and within driving distance; most within a 10 minute drive. All beaches in Aruba are public (this includes the beaches at the hotels) and most have free public parking areas. Also, most of the hotels have umbrellas and chairs, but may charge visitors for use. Boca Catalina, one of the best snorkeling locations on the island, is only a 3 minute drive.
The public bus stop is only a 5 minute walk; the buses provide service to most of the beaches, Oranjestad, and, with connections, the south and middle parts of the island. If you enjoy a little gambling, the Marriott Beach Club Casino is only a few minutes away. There are many other casinos just a little farther south toward the capital city of Oranjestad. Also, Oranjestad has world class duty free shopping, restaurants, nightclubs, and bars, all within a 5-10 minute drive.
There are many rental cars companies outside of the airport terminal; we recommend Tropicar or Super Car Rental for very competitive rates and excellent service.

We were a bit nervous at first, but good communication with homeowners Ron and Sunny, through telephone calls and e-mails put us quickly at ease. The pictures displayed on their website are accurate as are their descriptions of the property. We were glad to have the privacy of our "own" place there. It was great watching the stars away from the lights of the hotels. No worries about having to get up early to get a pool chair here! The kitchen is well-equipped. Joan & Ron have a wonderful home which is in a perfect location. The home is meticulously kept and well laid out for a large family - all you would need are within a short drive. It's not hard to say that this is one of the best deals in Aruba and Joan/Ron are fantastic hosts-we've never had better. The views and tranquility are second to none- we'd high recommend the Parrot's Nest!

This is our third rental through homeaway.com and the third wonderful success story. We could not have been happier with this rental. Ron and Joan have a great home that they share. They are very accomdating in answering questions and providing information on things to see and places to eat on the island. They are very responsive to emails and calls and truly care that your vacation is as wonderful as it could be. Here are some details: Although it was just DW and me, the house supports a lot more. There are 4 bedrooms, one with a kitchenette, 3 bathrooms, a full kitchen and living room. Each room is individually air conditioned and boy, do they crank out. We only cooled the rooms we used. The back deck is covered by the sun deck. So, you can have shade or sun. The pool is good sized and taken care of by a pool guy; just jump right in! The back faces the edge of the salt pond and you can see the ocean and the Marriott sub-division. The ocean and beaches was a 5 minute walk away, but you did have to negotiate a some standing water from the September rains, but it was doable. Ting Wei supermarket is a 4 minute walk away and they had pretty much anything you would need. However, larger markets are available in the downtown area, we recommend Ling and Sons. Yes, you do need a car, but since we like to go to Baby Beach anyway, we would have had to have a car regardless of where we stayed. I loved the house, I loved the quiet (except for the soft thwack of the tennis balls, but really, not noisy at all, it was just nice to hear to people and kids play), I loved the neighborhood (it is quiet), I loved swimming at midnight under the full moon, I loved swimming at sunrise, feeling the breeze on the sun deck, having breakfast on the patio and then jumping in the pool, watching the setting sun from the sun deck (someday I'm going to see that green flash), watching the cacti wave in the breeze, waving at the horseback riders as they passed by, watching the sky divers, the kite riders, the parasailors, the birds, the iguanas, the sailboats and the clouds passing overhead. It was our kind of place and I truly cannot wait to go back. Just be aware that road construction has shut down the shortest route to the house and you have to go up Palm Beach Rd to Route 2, or go to where route where Route 1 and 2 meet. They are re-constructing the road, so the short route will be back sooner or later. Dave K - Lisle,

I am a little late writing this, but had to come back to talk about how wonderful our experience was. My husband and I took a trip to Aruba in April and both brought along our parents to enjoy it with us. This house was perfect for the five of us. (we could have easily accomodated 4+ more people). The house was spotless, roomy and just NICE! The back patio was perfect to lounge on. The pool was so refreshing and the sun deck was perfect. We went up there a few times in the evening and it was amazing for star gazing. During the day a horseback tour passes right by the back of the house, we we thought was very neat. You also have views of the ocean and can see the parasailers. We attended a wedding at Holiday inn, and it was so easy to get there. Overall.. beautifuil house, convenient location, great for a family, pool was a plus+, and owner was SUPER sweet and helpful. She emailed me several times leading up to our trip with tips on where to go and what to do. If we ever go back to Aruba, we will definitely stay here again!

From the moment I emailed the owners asking a million questions about their rental house in Aruba, I could tell they were wonderful. I use VRBO often and they went above and beyond and were so professional that I never worried a bit. If anything, the house looks even better in person. I was worried as I never rent houses that accept pets but the price and location were too good to pass up so I went for it. Maybe because it is tile or maybe the housekeeper is just really good, but I could not tell any pets had been anywhere near there! My mother with her allergies could'nt either! We were just thrilled when we arrived and found it was literally minutes from the beach and Marriott (we were attending a wedding there) so getting back and forth was so easy. It was a relief to have such a great place to retreat to between events. I am a pool addict and like my pools perfectly clean and this one was! It was so clear and nice that we swam often throughout the day but most loved our nighttime swims with the beautiful and soothing pool lights. It was gorgeous. The beach in front of the house is the prettiest stretch we saw anywhere while there and we had a car and did alot of exploring checking out other beaches but ours was best. The birdlife that frequents the lagoon was a joy to watch as were the many iguanas that sunbathed in the wonderful cacti garden nearby. The neighborhood is nice and it we loved having a grocery nearby that seemed to have everything we needed and more. I would never waste money on the Marriott or the many hotels that line Palm Beach when you can have your own space, private pool, great kitchen, etc and just walk up to the Marriott whenever you need a crowd/casino/restaurants etc. for less money. My parents who are 72 came down and stayed after we left and they walked back and forth to the beach and hotels day and night, no problem. We all had a great time and I can't say enough about Ron and Sunny and how well they equipped the house and us with all the info we needed. Thanks so much!

We did rent a vehicle both weeks, and it was very easy to explore the various beaches with everything we needed (ie. beach chairs, towels, cooler)- all available at the house. The kitchen is well-equipped and we appreciated being able to cook our own meals when we wanted to. We found most of the restaurants we visited to be quite expensive, so it was nice to be able to save a bit of money by cooking some meals as well. The pool was very nice, and we had a very relaxing, wonderful holiday. We would highly recommend this house as a great option for something different than a hotel stay. I would suggest a daylight arrival time, if possible, as even with great directions provided by the homeowner, it was a little difficult to find in the dark. We stayed at the Parrots Nest for 2 glorious weeks. Everything was wonderful. The pool was delightful and the accomodations great. We had everything we needed and more. We enjoyed the great people on the island and many many great restaurants. Would come again and again.
