Accommodations: House, 2 Bedrooms + No additional sleeping rooms avail, 1 Bath (Sleeps 4)
Keywords: House
This light-filled house is on a level lot with a completely fenced back yard, with wooden deck, barbecue and lots of roses. The living-dining-kitchen area has peaked ceilings, an open floor plan and a wall of windows to the back yard and a gas stove-fireplace. Two full bedrooms and a full bath. There is another deck by the front door to catch the late afternoon sun.
Walk out the front door and turn west onto the quiet, virtually traffic-free dirt roads of the Bolinas' "big mesa." In two short blocks you are at the southern border of Pt. Reyes National Seashore -- a huge, grassy meadow leading from a horse ranch over the the bluffs above the Pacific (on a clear day you can see the Farallones). Or walk a few blocks south to overlook the surfers off Bolinas and Stinson Beach and to San Francisco and Devil's Slide further south, and then continue down the road to town and the beaches.

Lovely place for a family

I stayed here with my two boys for nine days, and couldn't be happier. The house is extremely quiet, comfortable, and well laid out. There are windows everywhere, so there is always lots of light, even when the fog was in. The kitchen is well equipped, and the laundry room made my life lots easier! Our email contacts with the owners were friendly and helpful. The beach in Bolinas has great surfing for beginners (and the 2 Mile Surf Shop gave my husband a great lesson). We went hiking in Point Reyes, horseback riding, to Stinson Beach for a change, and spent many hours playing games, etc in the quiet, pleasant house. This was a great vacation spot for us.

This clean, light-filled house made a wonderful, quiet place to retreat. Clean, simple furnishings are complemented by lovely artwork on the walls. The beds were cozy and comfortable. The kitchen had everything needed to cook and serve complete dinners. There are wonderful walks right out the front door, and of course the town of Bolinas has its own unique personality and charm. I'll definitely go back. This would be a good place from which to take off for day hikes at Pt. Reyes National Seashore, or to explore west Marin County on a weekend. It would be cozy in winter with the gas stove in the living room, and delightful in warm weather with barbeques on the back deck. It was a perfect place for spending time writing and playing the guitar. The owners are helpful and considerate, and the listing accurately describes and depicts the property.

My husband and I and our two dogs stayed here in the spring of 2009 for three weeks. The property was exactly like the pictures showed. It was spacious and the yard was perfect for our dogs. The bed was comfortable, and there was room for our bay area family to come up and visit. The neighborhood was great for walking and bike riding. It was a nice walk or ride down to the town and the beach, but a climb back up the hill! Bolinas is charming and the beach is awesome. We enjoyed visiting other communities in the area, and just sitting in the backyard and listening to the birds. Property owners were very flexible as our plans changed a bit between booking and arrival. It was a wonderful experience, and as much as I'd love to stay there again, we need to stay closer to the Bay Area when we come. Thanks!
