Wildlife and farm animals are abundant. Herons, ospreys and eagles soar the area daily. Deer frequently walk through the yard. The lagoon, adjacent to the house, has about 5 feet of water depth and is protected. It's that place, where in privacy and unnoticed, you can view the boats going to and from the Chesapeake Bay. In the fall and winter Canadian geese and ducks winter in the fresh water ponds, creek, and fields.
Kayaks are available locally for rental if you want to investigate the Creek and arrangements can be made for fishing trips or keeping your boat at the dock or in the lagoon.
Cape Charles and the surrounding Eastern Shore of Virginia area have much to offer, such as the Barrier Island Museum, the Fisherman's Island Refuge, Kiptopeke State Park, Tours to the Barrier Islands, Northampton County Court House (Oldest Continuous Court Records in U.S.), Debtor's Prison and many others.
If you develop an allergy to "Quiet" and need some additional excitement in your life, the "Megapolis" of Virginia Beach, Norfolk, Chesapeake, Portsmouth, Suffolk, Hampton, Newport News and Yorktown are just on the other side of the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel.

- This is a 200 Ac. working farm with livestock overlooking the Chesapeake Bay. You have the ability to view yachts motoring to the marina yet not be clearly observed. You will hear the calls of the eagles, osprey, egrets, seagulls, chickens, ducks, geese and songbirds. Deer, foxes and squirrels are very prevalent as well as goats and sheep. This is a place where you are able to hear sounds of tractors in the distance. In addition, we can make arrangements to bring you to the private airstrip.
