The Old Bakery is a rustic holiday home that has complete privacy. Situated in a pretty white-washed mountain village, this is the real traditional Spain. The village streets are narrow, not for cars, which adds to the peace and tranquility that you experience at The Old Bakery. Parking is available at the foot of this property only a few yards from the front door. Only 30 minutes north of Malaga airport it is an ideal retreat for holidays and even weekends away from most European destinations. Many of our guests come also from Canada, the USA and Eastern Europe.
The four bedroom two bathroom village house has a large fully fitted kitchen, lounge with satellite TV, an open fire and will sleep up to 9 people. There is a staged terrace which is completely private and leads down to a luxury splash pool and one of the best views in the world. There is a barbecue, outdoor seating and sun beds are provided for your relaxation. Full bed linen, towels including beach towels are provided for your convenience. There are two double bedrooms, one with a queen and a double and one with a queen. There are two single bedrooms, one twin is downstairs and a separate single on the first floor. The Old Bakery has been completely renovated recently and is extremely cool even during the hottest weather. It has full air conditioning and heating to all main rooms.
All the local village restaurants and bars are within walking distance, specializing in local food that is very reasonably priced. There is a Pharmacy, Bakers, Butchers, Deli, Sweet and Ice Cream shop, Supermarkets and a number of other outlets. The huge supermarkets of Malaga are approximately 25 minutes away and a garden centre serving excellent food within 10 minutes. Every Friday morning there is a market selling fresh local produce. At the top of the village is a spectacular Olympic size swimming pool with restaurant and bar.
The Old Bakery is situated in a National Park, Sierra de las Nieves, and is ideal for walkers, cyclists, bird watchers, anglers and boasts spectacular scenic drives. There is a tourist information centre in the village and there are many places of natural beauty to visit including Ronda, El Burgo, Guaro, Tolox to name just a few. Salvador Dali country is about an hours drive. The Bio-sphere reserve is the area as a whole and if you have never seen a golden eagle then this is where you need to be. Casarabonela is one of Malagas best examples of a village conserving the original urban layout of the Arabic Casr-Bonaira. The village founded by the Romans is a haven of peace and tranquility. |
