This is an elegant, antique furnished home, nestled on a quiet, tree lined street in a beautiful neighborhood called "the Hill" in Great Barrington. The long dining table seats 8 comfortably. The living room is filled with art and art books, a cozy feather-pillowed couch (great for sleeping too!), a wood stove (plenty of wood stacked on the porch for a chilly August night), piano, and CD/tape stereo. The downstairs guest bedroom has a charming, iron-wrought double bed, and a newly renovated full bath.
The sunny upstairs has a master bedroom with a queen bed, antique oriental carpets, and a DSL connection. The second bedroom has two twin beds. The upstairs bath is one of the most beautiful rooms in the house, filled with light by a huge skylight, furnished with an antique shaving stand, shaker pegs for towels, and a wooden sink vanity. This home stays cool in the summer, especially downstairs, however fans are provided for the upstairs bedrooms for the occasional hot night.
This home is within walking distance to the beach at Lake Mansfield (lifeguard, picnic tables, grills, nature walks) and a short walk to the shops and restaurants of downtown Great Barrington. It is 13 miles to Tanglewood, DSL and long distance phone service provided, excellent cell service, pets considered, all linens, lawn service and utilities included. |
