Location: Spa on Port Royal Sound, Port Royal, Island Areas, Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, USA (45 Minutes from Savannah Airport; 1 Hr from Charleston, Sc)
Accommodations: Villa, 2 Bedrooms + Other (See Description), 2 Baths (Sleeps 4-6)
Our villa was remodeled in Spring of 2008. It is on the 2nd floor, (no elevator). It has its own washer and dryer within the unit and has its own private balcony. It is an easy 200 yard stroll to the beach, with no streets to cross. There is a basketball court and playground within a few feet of the villa. The back patio overlooks the professionally surfaced tennis courts. Tennis is free without scheduling. Guests are welcome to use the solar- heated indoor pool, hot tub and sauna inside the recreational building. There are (2) outdoor pools. One large pool in the center of the complex and one near the ocean, perfect for cooling off. Walking trails meander along a beautifully landscaped lagoon area. Two nature preserves are on either side of the complex which provide plenty of area to explore and walk. Bike trails lead from the complex to all areas of the island. Our villa is on the north end of the island, on the "heel", which is convenient to popular places of golfing, shopping, eating and entertainment. A public library and hospital are nearby. The complex is nestled underneath 100+ year old live oaks in the area of the island called Port Royal, between Palmetto Hall and Port Royal Plantation. Historical ruins can be explored nearby. It is in the heart of the redeveloped Mitchelville, the island's first township.
