Very open living space with lots of light. The Foyer opens into the GREAT ROOM which in turn opens to the Kitchen, Dining Area and screen porch. The Great Room features plenty of seating with its new sleeper sofa, matching loveseat, comfy oversized pillow chair, plantation shutters,custom-made drapes and ceiling fan. Entertainment armoire includes TV/DVD/VCR,complete with fully stocked video library and stereo with CD/radio. Banquet-sized tavern table in Dining Area seats 6 or more and is the perfect complement to the beautiful wrought iron nautical chandelier. Fully equipped KITCHEN, with everything you want, has its own serving bar and 3 stools for those quick lunch sandwiches or snacks. The Kitchen also features a double bowl stainless steel sink that looks out to the SCREEN PORCH with its inviting outdoor living space and its own serving bar, 3 stools, 5' round wicker/glass table, 4 chairs and sofa and ceiling fan. The flooring in all the main living areas (except for the plush carpet found in the bed chambers and ceramic tile in the baths) is a very thick decorator stone. Our family enjoyed a great Spring Break in your cottage! The beach is beautiful, the weather was perfect, and the cottage was very nice. We cooked fresh fish on the grill and used your well stocked kitchen for several meals. The cottage is neat and clean, and very convenient to restaurants and shopping. We had a great time and hope to come back next year!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway, families with teenagers.

My husband and I and our 2 kids (ages 5,6) spent the week here. The Resort is beautiful! Perfect for family with young children. My kids loved the golf cart ride to the beach, although we could have walked (only a short distance). Great shopping area! Only complaint I have were the beds! They are hard as rocks! Kitchen had all utensils to cook with. Loved the keyless entry, didn't have to worry about keeping up with a key. We had to call about the air conditioner because it was leaking, house manager very cooperative and got someone to come fix it. We had a great family vacation!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, families with young children, age 55+, girls getaway, families with teenagers.

My daughter rented your condo for this weekend and we really enjoyed our stay very much. I was reviewing your other guest comments and was surprised to see the one just prior to our stay because your unit was not outdated or dirty by a long shot. We thought it was very nicely furnished and clean, location was wonderful too. Good linens and well equipped. The place is a great floor plan and the screened in porch is a bonus! It was exactly what you advertised and better than we expected, we liked it so much we would love to come back later in the year, maybe we could trade condos for a week, have you been to St Simons recently? I manage condos here on St. Simons and get guests like yours who made the degragory comments. They always blame the cleaning ladies! I wish I knew how to tell people these are second homes, not a 5 star hotel! Don't always believe them when they tell you it was not clean, ask them for specifics, there is no way any cleaning crew would have left your home as that guest described it! It was extremely clean when we arrived. Your unit was not outdated, we thought it was cheerful and comforatable. If they do not call you as soon as they check in it is probably not true! We scheduled massages about 4 miles from the condo on Saturday afternoon after spending a great morning on the beach (easy access). We chartered a fishing boat on Sunday, the guides first time with all girls! We caught 10 spanish mackerel. We also managed to get in lots of shopping. It was our first time to Destin and I have got to say it is now one of my favorite places. We cannot wait to go again which is unusual, we usually just want to get back to our little island! Thank you again for your comfy condo, my daughter picked a good one~Recommended for: Romantic getaway, families with young children, age 55+, girls getaway, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, sightseeing.

Having read the description of the rental, I was sure my family and I were going to enjoy our stay at the cottage. Unfortunately, that was not the case. The kitchen counter was covered with sugar ants, the coffee pot didn't work, the fridge leaked on all our food inside, and left puddles on the floor. Upon our arrival the floors were sandy, dirty, and there were dust bunnies and crumbs under the dining table. The shower curtains were moldy and had hair stuck on them. Several of the lightbulbs were burned out and paint was chipped throughout the cottage. There were dead bugs around the baseboards and walls in the master bedroom. The patio was so dirty, we couldn't sit out on the furniture. We called the owners for assistance and were told to call the management company ourselves. When we called management we spoke with the woman who had cleaned the cottage. She insisted she had cleaned the cottage and was extremely rude and finished the conversation with, "call and get your money back and leave!". The owners didn't answer any of our calls that night and didn't call until later the next morning. Trying to make the best of a bad situation we went to the store and bought cleaning supplies and while my husband took the kids to the beach I scrubbed the cottage. The owners finally called and said they would refund our cleaning fee. They did not offer to reimburse us for the cleaning products or the wifi that we had to pay for to get connected, it is not free as stated in the description. The cottage description was completely misleading and inaccurate. My inlaws stayed in another cottage but rented through the resort. Their cottage was clean and well equiped. Although we were disappointed in the cottage itself, the lack of consideration, and respect from the owners was more upsetting to us. We will return to the area, which is a lovely location, but we will rent through the resort itself to insure that certain standards are met.Owner response: We were shocked and dismayed to receive this comment and will make every effort to correct any valid problems or concerns. We treat each of our guests as we would like to be treated and have never received any comment like this. Our other guests speak to the diligent attention and care we provide our guests. Our guests' concerns and requests are of the utmost importance to us.

My husband and I spent the month of Feb. at the cottage and loved it. Spacious, comfortable, and well equipped best describe this cottage. It was our first trip to Destin and we loved it.There is SO MUCH to do. The weather is on the cool side, of course(more suitable for walking on the beach than laying on the beach) but still very pleasant. I would recommend this cottage to anyone who wanted a cozier, walk-out-the-door experience, as opposed to the high-rise condo type unit. We have already booked for next year as have our friends in the Hidden Dunes area!!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, families with young children, tourists without a car, age 55+, girls getaway, sightseeing.

We had a wonderful time in the Justus Cottage during our beach vacation! We especially enjoyed the back patio and its welcoming window into the kitchen and the big soaking tub in the master bath. Also, all the storage was wonderful for unpacking all of our clothes, etc. and made us feel like we were Floridians in our own beach cottage for the week! :) The in-house washer and dryer also allowed me to come home from our vacation with a very small pile of laundry verses a Mount Everest's worth of a pile. :) There were lots of good towels, all the kitchen utensils we needed (although, we should have brought a good corkscrew) and all within a very easy walk to the pool. Our only "complaint" (and not really one, at that), is that with our two little children, and all of our beach gear, the walk was a bit far to the beach so we did have to load up into the van for that every morning, but to us it was WELL worth the beautiful Gulf and the wonderful times we had there. Supposedly, there is an in-season tram, which we never even bothered to call about. The owners were extremely helpful and very easy to work with. Missy, Ray and friends had a great stay in your wonderful cottage we really enjoyed the ammenities that you provided we were in need of nothing. We spent most of our stay at the beautiful big pool and at the wonderful beach and the weather was glorious. Lisa - Thank you so much for renting your beautiful cottage to us the first week of August. My favorite part was the screened porch. I really enjoyed drinking my coffee on the porch every morning. We just recently stayed at the Jutus Cottage and it was wonderful. The cottage was adorable and it had lots of space- I felt so at home there. It also is minutes away from a wonderful outlet that had everything you could think of. Not far from that is the public beach.....if you'd like to enjoy that........with tons of great seafood resturants. My only regret is that I didnt get to enjoy the property more. We were done for a wedding and most of our time was spent away :( The property was beautiful and my husband who visited the beach on the property said thats where we should have been the whole time. I will defintley be returning next year!!!!! It was WONDERFUL.......I can not stress that enough :)Recommended for: Romantic getaway, families with young children, age 55+, girls getaway, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, sightseeing.

Scott and Lisa, I just wanted to take a moment to let you know that we had a wonderful time staying in your condo. It was very spacious. We had with plenty of room for all of our groceries and I loved the fact that I could tuck away all of our extra things in the hall closet. We prepared several meals in the condo and did not want for anything as far as pots and pans or dishes. The colorful linens on the twin beds were great for my children. And we loved the fact that there was a DVD player in there as well so we could pop in a movie for some quiet time. My MIL enjoyed sipping wine and reading on the beautiful screened in porch while listening to the fountain nearby. We loved having the washer and dryer in the condo. We were able to go home with all clean clothes! We were close enough to the beach that even my one year old had no trouble walking to the beach. We had an absolutely wonderful time and can't wait to go back! Thank you for sharing your beautiful cottage with us.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, families with young children, age 55+, families with teenagers.

About the owner: Hello. We are Scott and Lisa Justus, and we live in Atlanta, GA. We have 3 children and are delighted that you are visiting with us.
Why the Owner Chose Hidden Dunes:
We love Hidden Dunes and have been coming to the area since college days at Auburn (many years ago). Growing up in Birmingham/Atlanta (for Lisa) and Asheville, N.C. (for Scott), the white sugar sand beaches of this area have always seemed to be calling our names. We never want to leave. We live in Atlanta now and can be at our beach house in an easy 5 1/2 drive. Hidden Dunes was a beach tennis resort Scott and I admired for many years. We met playing ALTA tennis in Atlanta (he beat me in mixed doubles) and thought this was a PERFECT place for our family's beach home. We chose the perfect cottage located in the lush landscaping of this amazing secluded beach paradise (near the beach, pool, basketball and tennis).
