Why the Owner Chose Rockport
We owned a smaller house in Rockport since 1979 and have always loved the atmosphere of the town. Key Allegro is the most vibrant community in Rockport and this house in particular is stunningly beautiful and comfortable – open and airy – it just has a wonderful feel. It was way above our price range, but once we saw it, we couldn’t live without it!
The Unique Benefits at this House
Rockport is full of great restaurants and we love going out for good seafood. The Rockport Bakery has the best cream cheese danishes I’ve ever tasted. On some visits we never cook at all! We also love bay fishing. We have a couple of guides we use regularly and almost always come home with an ice chest full of Redfish and Speckled Trout, with a Flounder or two also. And the kids love going to the beach. Rockport has a great little beach on the bay, with playscapes, snowcones, and general fun. Sometimes we take the ferry over to Port Aransas and enjoy a day on the big beach on the Gulf of Mexico. One of my favorite things to do is to take early morning walks along the bay, then enjoy a cup of coffee on the bench in our front yard, watching the birds and dolphins and boats go by. I’ve never been to Rockport when I didn’t have fun.

We had a wonderful time in May in this lovely, spacious home that has a close view of the bay. A very elegant and comfortable accommodation, this home has a lot of appeal. We enjoyed having morning coffee on the back deck while watching a colorful sunrise accommpanied by seagulls and pelicans. We also found several nearby excellent seafood restaurants. This would be a great getaway for a family reunion or a gathering of friends who like to fish, beachcomb, jog or walk along the bay or just simply relax.
Owner response:Glad you enjoyed yourself. Next time try having your morning on the bench at the edge of the bay in front of the house. It's even more spectacular!

My wife, three young kids (10, 9, 6 yrs old) and I thoroughly enjoyed ourselves in this wonderful home. It is very large and elegant, yet comfortable and very relaxing. The view from the front is amazing--as it faces the Gulf. We just walked out the front door and viola! we're looking at water. The back is on the channel--so there's literally water on both sides. Pretty cool to see dolphins swimming both in front and in back of the house. When you drive into the area, you recognize very nice homes all around... And THEN... you enter into a private drive/road with maybe 9 or 10 houses that are AWESOME! This place is one of those houses! Anyway, we had a great time and definitely look forward to returning. I've recommended this place to my family and friends, and will continue to do so. We ate a very nice restaurant in the area--walked about 1 mile from the house. I don't recall the name, but it was cool. We sat outside, listening to live music. Our kids also had fun--which is key for a nice evening. There is an aquarium in the restaurant that houses an eel Pretty interesting--as we'd not seen a live eel that close before. The place was very clean and the owner made it very easy--very professional and friendly.

We have stayed at this delightful property several times and will keep coming back as long as we are lucky enough to find it available! It is beautifully maintained, landscaped and so convenient to everything in Rock Port. We especially love fishing off the deck in the back or searching for hermit crabs on the beaches out front. It truly is a paradise get away and so hard to leave! We enjoy eating at Charolette Plumbers, but rarely leave the house because of the beautiful kitchen with all the needed amenities to create our own meals so we don't have to miss a beat on the great fishing just outside our door. On our last visit just this month, we caught catfish and speckled trout much to the delight of our children. We also used the crab nets and didn't get keepers this time, but did get a flounder! Very cool! I would highly recommend this property to anyone who is looking for a relaxing, luxurious, family fun time at the beach! We hope to return very soon!
Owner response:Always nice having your family, Paula. Charlotte Plumbers is one of our favorites too. We were just there over Labor Day - we actually ordered carry-out because we were afraid the wait would be too long. It was just as good at home! Until next time...

This house has tons of room and is light and airy with huge vaulted ceilings. There is room around the dining table and in the family room for everyone. We were there with 12 people and didn't feel cramped at all. The house is a throwback to 1980's beach living, but there are notes everywhere on how to run things and where to find light switches/appliances/ just about everything. Definitely a fun house close to activities and right on the water both out the front door and back door.

The views from this very spacious house are incredible. We spent each morning and evening on the front patio enjoying the breeze and scenery. We really enjoyed our time there
Owner response:Yep. There's nothing quite like enjoying morning coffee while sitting on the benches at the edge of the bay.

I visited this home with my wife and her family. We absolutely loved it! It’s bright and open, and very inviting. My favorite part of the trip was eating in several of the great restaurants in Rockport and nearby Port Aransas. But just sitting around the house and relaxing was nice too. Sometimes it was hard getting out of the living room, with the HD TV and Aransas Bay right outside the window! Can’t wait to go back.
Owner response:Thanks for the comments. Let us know when you are ready to visit Rockport again.

“We had a PERFECT visit, seeing two dolphins as we drove up to your SPECTACULAR house, which was so full of light and space! We enjoyed every minute and thank you for the gift of allowing us this family time to end our 2008 in joy, laughter and happiness. The rooms were each decorated with taste and the kitchen/dining area was where we spent the bulk of our time----it's so perfectly designed for giant gatherings around food and friendship. The master suite had a magnificent tub and bathroom---really, it could be an entire other room!---and walking on the beach in the moonlight was romantic, calming and spiritual. We can't recommend this beautiful home highly enough.”

We had a wonderful time. There are lots of windows which provide great views of the bay out front and the canal out back. You feel like you are surrounded by water. At night there is underwater lighting so that you can fish or just watch them. The downstairs master bedroom and bath is spacious and comfortable. The back deck is shaded in the afternoon which makes it enjoyable for visiting and cooking out. The kitchen is very nice and equipped with everything you need. There were four couples who went and it was so nice that each bedroom has a bath – no sharing!! This home is large, and just invites you to sit back and relax.
