  We stayed at this beautiful bayfront home over a long Easter weekend and loved it! If you love the sights and sounds of the Gulf waters, this is the place for you. It is located on the exclusive Key Allegro island in Rockport, TX. The front of the home faces Aransas Bay and you have access to a private pier for fishing and just hanging out. It has a fantastic view of the sunset. The house is HUGE with plenty of room to spread out. The owners make sure that it's kept in excellent condition. We ate all our meals in the kitchen which had all the cooking utensils you need for any kind of food preparation. There was enough space for 15 people to dine comfortably. Our group included kids from 7-21 years old and they all loved fishing on the private dock just out the back door. The dock has several lights and an underwater light that really brings the fish! If you want to dine out, there many great restaurants within minutes that serve steaks and fresh seafood brought in daily. It's a perfect place for a family reunion or your favorite group of friends. We are already planning on next return visit.

It was wonderful to celebrate with our families. The grandchildren had a great time with the paddleboat. This was our 1st trip to Rockport & we loved it."

Beautiful weather while still a bit hot in the mid-90s. Winds 15 to 20 mph. Seas about 2 ft. Did some tubing in the bay. Fished off the dock both a.m. and p.m., but no fish caught. P.S. We're bringing additional RC copters next time!"

  Entry from on-site guest book: "We have truly had a luxurious vacation in you beautiful home surrounded by water. We felt like we were back in Costa Rica while enjoying a cruise!! Every detail in your house is perfect! We even caught trout (one 26") and redfish off the pier. The porpoises, paddleboat, and kayak just added to all our fun. The little swifts were entertaining and even the frigate bird who would fly high every afternoon seemed to enjoy your home. Our family celebrated (my mother's 87th birthday; a 40th & a 38th anniversary plus a retirement!! Thank you for a wonderful respite; we hope to come back."

Your home has been a respite for all from our busy lives - to sit anywhere & gaze out at water & sky has been amazing! A highlight was sitting at dinner and watching a dolphin swim by. Of course, many thought it was a shark. Nature and God's creation are so close by. Thank you & God bless you."

  Four 60ish couples shared this large home.....and never felt crowded! It is very spacious, with lots of openness and great views of the bay and the canal. The 4 bedrooms and 4 baths were great, as we all prefer our own private space...and is sometimes hard to find in rental homes. The kitchen was well stocked with many appliances, and every utensil we needed. The private pier in front was a plus.....and the canal access in the rear was great for people watching. The decor is very "beachy".....a bit "retro".... In places, but nice. We enjoyed a great weekend!

  Recommended for: Age 55+, girls getaway, families with young children.

• Luxury Ocean Stay!

  We just spent a week here and we could not have had a more relaxing and enjoyable time. The house is AMAZING. It's big enough to comfortably sleep and accommodate large groups (we had 6 adults, 2 teenagers, and 1 toddler and had more than enough room for all of us) but still manages to feel incredibly cozy and welcoming. The upstairs area has 3 bedrooms (each one with its own bathroom), a nice, little family room loft area, and a large, beautiful balcony perfect for taking in the gorgeous ocean views. The downstairs area is incredibly open and with windows surrounding the front and back you never forget that you're just steps away from the ocean. We loved the private pier out at the front of the house. We didn't do any fishing but it was incredibly relaxing to just sit on the bench at the end of the pier and take it all in. Having the canal right at the back of the house was great because if you just wanted to cool off or relax in a tube you didn't have to go far. We also really enjoyed taking walks around the neighborhood. If you step out of the house and turn right and go just a few houses down you end up in a cul-de-sac where you can see that Rockport Beach Park is literally right next to you (with just a small body of water in between). The drive to the beach is under 5 minutes which was great since we made the trip 1 or 2 times a day. Everyone in our group had a blast at the beach, but it was especially perfect for our 2 yr old: 1) Plenty of permanent umbrellas for shade along the beach 2) Lots of shallow beach area, perfect for even a toddler to be able to walk around in and try to jump "over" the waves 3) Rockport Beach is the only "Blue Wave Beach" in Texas which means it is cleaned nightly. This is HUGE. We ended up going to Galveston just a couple weeks after our Rockport trip and our toddler refused to even go near the water because there was just so much seaweed and debris. She definitely got spoiled at the Rockport beach. 4) At the very end of the park near the park pavilion there is a small "lagoon" area which has even more shade, a nice beach area, and has a bit more of a pool type of feeling (less waves, more floating/relaxing in a tube kind of a feel). We went here for one of our afternoon beach trips and were lucky enough to see a porpoise playing around on the outskirts of the lagoon. We absolutely could not have stayed at a better place in Rockport. One of the most relaxing (and fun!) vacations I've ever had.

  Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children.
