My husband and I took our 3 children ( ages 9, 9, and 7) for a week to Isla. It was our best vacation ever. SO beautiful, easy, safe, and fun. Our kids loved the beach and the pool and the activities. We loved the great location--convenient to restaurants and so many great activities ( snorkeling, Garafon, Dolphin Swim). We went for a day to the mainland to see Tulum and do Xplor and those were fabulous too. The condo is very clean and comfortable, the condo staff is so helpful, and Tina and Mike sent us so much great information. I would HIGHLY recommend Ixchel and Isla to anyone. We have travelled a lot and this is one of our top vacations ever!

This was EVERYTHING & MORE the owner said it was!!! We stayed in the lock off room Feb 3-8 and weren't disappointed we did! It was very clean, updated and the bed was comfy! The view was great and we enjoyed our stay on the 6th floor! Thank you Tina for being so helpful and honest! I will surely consider staying there again, when we return to the beautiful and refreshing Island if Isla Mujeres!!

Best Condo at Ixchel

This is our 11th time at Isla (we think, we've lost count :) ) and our second stay at Mike and Tina's condo. We've stayed at 5 other condos at Ixchel and at other hotels on the island, but this is our favorite place. We love the corner/wraparound balcony with fantastic views. Love the huge master suite bathroom. The bed, dining room and living room furniture are all very comfortable. One of the best features of this unit is the VOIP phone - we were able to check on our kids (the puppies!) everyday. The staff is also excellent. We love Isla, will be back soon and will make sure to get this unit again.

Wonderful Island and Perfect Condo

We had the pleasure of spending a week at Mike and Tina's wonderful condo on Isla Mujeres. I had high expectations based on the positive reviews, yet my expectations were surpassed upon arrival. Everything about Isla and the condo was perfect, leading to a much needed relaxing vacation. The location of the condo is perfect, with amazing beachfront views and a prime location close to tons of restaurants and shopping. The condo is spacious and decorated very tastefully. The master bedroom looks out onto the beach, and the wrap-around balcony has tons of space to relax. The management of the property also led an enjoyable stay. Everyone was very friendly and helpful, especially the KALAK workers who helped set us up with prime beach chair locations and umbrellas every day, so I could relax while keeping an eye on our seven year old daughter while she played in the sand and water. Our daughter enjoyed it so much she cried during the ferry ride back to Cancun because she didn't want to leave. We will definitely be back and would recommend this condo in a heartbeat to anyone looking for a wonderful beach vacation.

I spent a week in the two bedroom condo July 30-August 6, 2011 with my sister and friends. This was my 6th trip to Isla Mujeres and Ixchel. I have been lucky to book this condo twice. I always try to book it first- seriously if you are considering staying in Isla you must stay here for all the reasons listed in the reviews below. The views from the wrap around balcony are amazing- I have sunset pictures hanging in my apartment that others think I bought. The weather always seems to be perfect this time of year. We are able to spend the day at the beach, evenings eating at some wonderful restaurants on the island, and nights in comfortable accomidations. The condo provides comfy bed and couches to lounge. There are DVD's for viewing and the air conditioning works well- so we were always rested in the morning. I cannot say enough about this place and the owners. They will guide you n the right direction and even recommends a car service to the ferry (they will set this up for you). I prefer to communicate via email and the owners were always quick to reply! And keep in mind that there is a full size kitchen for your use. We only made tea as we ate out, but the option is there should that work for you. The car service will take you to Walmart on the way if needed. Do not hesitate- contact the owners and book a trip to Isla Mujeres.

Simply Amazing!

This was my second August vacation to Isla and second stay at Mike and Tina’s. I am totally convinced I will be a regular here! Staying with my sister and a couple of friends (all teachers spending one last hurrah before the school year starts) - could not have been more relaxing and wonderful! The views, the staff of Ixchel (they are amazing!), the location (away from many Cancun day-trippers), the proximity to eats and the “downtown” square cannot be beat. The condo is clean and comfy! Not to mention the views (if I were not staying in this condo I would have been jealous of the people who were) and the hammocks. Many amenities- like free calls to the US! And, while August is hot, the point of going to Isla is RELAXING on the beach! So running around in bathing suits all day fits the bill, besides the air conditioning worked GREAT so it was easy to cool down when needed. I can’t say enough- so I’ll stop with a simple THANK YOU for giving me a piece of paradise.

Island Escape

My wife, two daughters (17 & 19) and myself visited Isla Mujeres June 24th through July 1st of 2011. Staying at Tina & Mike's place (609/610) was the best choice I believe that we could of made to stay on the island. From the incredible beach front views on the wrap around balcony, the free VOIP, the beautifully decortated condo and the very comfortable bedding was everything you needed for a great vacation. Kudos to the very attentive staff of Ixchel and the beach service of Kalak. The condo and service made our vacation one of the best worry free we have had. Tina couldn't have been more helpful with our plans from restaurants to our great transportion to and from the airport and ferry. When we revisit Isla Mujeres, we will be definitely staying at Tina & Mike's. We could not have made a better choice.

Our week at this condo was wonderful. This was our 3rd visit to Isla & Ixchel & our first stay in this unit. The balcony wraps around the unit & provides an amazing view. This unit's furnishings and decor were the best we've encountered at Ixchel. I had inquired about the unit for a previous visit & when it was unavailable, the owners helped us find an alternate. Both times they have been great to work with, answered questions and provided helpful information. The staff at Ixchel were great and the beach is a tropical dream. We enjoy this location for the beach accesiblity & to easily walk to restaurants. We rented a golf cart for one day and used cabs to visit some restaurants in other areas of the island.(Monchi's & Chuuk Kay) However everything you need is within walking distance.

We stayed at the condo for a week in March. This place is Awesome! We were married on the beach and this is a wonderful place for a honeymoon. It is so romantic. The location of this condo, on the North beach is the very best you can find anywhere on the island. The condo is stocked with many amenities. They have a large selection of movies to watch, use of a grill on the deck, coolers and toys for the beach. The staff went above and beyond to make our stay the best possible. We really enjoyed CoMoNo’s restaurant down stairs by the pool. Great food and service. There is so much to do and see on the island, a week wasn’t long enough. We can’t wait to visit again.

My husband & I had never been to Isla Mujeres before but heard great things from several friends, so decided to go. We loved it! :) Tina was so helpful in answering all our questions so we knew what to expect & the best places to go. This condo is on the best beach in Isla, hands-down....and they have the best view in the place! The condo is beautifully furnished - we had coffee & breakfast there every morning on the deck - and we were always listening to the Bose stereo! The staff @ Ixchel were so helpful & we loved the guys @ Comono's! Our best meal was @ Rooster and we rented a golf cart for most of the time - the island is so fun to explore! We will definitely be back!

Unfortunately this condo was booked for the dates of our vacation but Tina (owner) was so helpful and found us a similar corner unit in the same building and took care of the booking. She was excellent and hopefully we can stay in her unit next time. The complex is great. Great beach and location. The unit itself was well-maintained. It has daily cleaning and linen changes. You can't beat the views from these corner units!!! Would recommend to anyone.

Wonderful Winter Getaway (Anytime!)

We were introduced to this little piece of heaven by a repeat guest and were definitely not disappointed. Superb accomodations, very helpful and attentative owners, and on-site management that was better than advertised! First class treatment throughout! Pictures do not do justice to the setting and view. When not enjoying the spectacular beach and water, we found the local people charming with plenty of sightseeing, shopping, and great restaurants. Almost everything is in easy walking distance from the property. On-site Comono restaurant for breakfast and beach service was great. We would also recommend Sunset Cafe, a short walk down the beach, for great food, live entertainment, and general ambiance - along with the great sunsets of course. We tried several other restaurants and clubs in town and were not disappointed with any of them. (And don't miss the massages on the beach!) Although our trip was designed to be a short getaway from winter weather, we would not hesitate to visit again any time of year. We would certainly recommend this excellent experience to anyone and are already dreaming about and planning our next visit. Thank you Mike and Tina...and Ixchel!

Place is Fantastic...was our Wedding Suite!

We were just recently married in Isla this past May. My husband & I stayed in this condo (#610) and absolutely loved it. It had all the amenities you could possibly need, and best of all, the most fantastic view facing the water from all angles! I only wish we had more time to spend there but we had a week of events that went along with our wedding. The owners went so far as to have Ixchel send up champaigne with rose petals to cover the condo!! So beautiful! The place is spacious enough to have all of our hair/makeup done up there for the wedding, as well as some gorgeous photos on their balcony...couldn't have had a better backdrop! They really know how to make you feel welcome in this place, I definitely recommend it to anyone...we plan on coming back for our anniversary :)

Amazingly Beautiful!

We stayed at this most wonderful condo and rented both 609 and 610. It was exactly as advertised, if not even better. We have stayed in two beach resorts in Jamaica and four in Cozumel, but nothing compares to Mike and Tina's condo at Ixchel. The beds and other furniture were extremely comfortable, which is often not the case in other places. The air conditioning is excellent, which is a nice welcome as you come in from a nice walk in town or along the beach. They even have a dehumidifier which kept the condo quite comfortable. The views from the balcony are too amazing for words. We couldn't believe that we were actually staying at such a marvelous place at such a reasonable price. The town is right there for you to explore with many wonderful restaurants. We tried a new one each day, and we were surprised at the excellent qualit of all our meals. We also visited the Comono Grill for lunch and/or drinks each afternoon, and it is right there on the property. The prices there are also very reasonable. I feel sure that we will be return guests to this very special place that we were able to call home for much too short a time.

The Best Vacation Ever!!

I will first say that it has taken me about three weeks to write this review because it makes us sad to think that we aren't in Isla Mujeres anymore. We are already talking about our next trip and we know where we will be staying when we go back to the island. We rented Mike and Tina's condo for 8 days and had a wonderful time. This was a perfect getaway for four crazy girls! I had great communication with Tina before leaving for Mexico, including a great recommendation for travel to the ferry and Tina’s favorite food spots on the island. When we got to Ixchel we made our way to the balcony first and yes, the view is OUTSTANDING. We enjoyed all of the amenities offered including telephone service to the U.S., full kitchen, movies, DVD players with a movie library and hammocks on the balcony. In addition to a great place to stay were the conveniences of restaurants, the beach, and lots of shopping only footsteps away. We were able to walk everywhere and then return to a place that felt like home. We will definitely be returning to Isla Mujeres and can’t wait to stay at Tina and Mike’s again! This was a trip we still talk about. There is nothing better than waking up to an ocean view, sipping Pina Colada’s on the beach and being with our closest friends. Although I would love to keep this place a secret, we definitely recommend this condo to anyone wanting an escape from the real world.

We stayed in this unit last month for the 2nd time. It is the perfect place to relax and watch the sunset. There is no other place on the island like it. The views, the amenities and the location are perfect. We will, with no doubt, stay here on each visit to Isla. The owner's are great, and make the whole "process" so very simple. We love it!

Just returned from our second stay at Mike and Tina's condo and our 3rd time to Ixchel. Once again we were totally thrilled with our stay. This unit is perfect for either one or two couples as both bedrooms have king beds. The location is as oceanfront as you can get in Isla without getting wet. From the huge balcony you can watch the sun come up AND watch the sun go down. The location is the best. Easy walking distance to shopping and restaurants. The food on the island was very good and also had a great variety of choices. If you never had been to Isla I highly recommend you go there and stay in this unit. We will definitly be back. We were invited to a wedding in March on Isla Mujeres. We had never heard of the island but now that we have been, we can't wait to go back! We found that this was the best place to stay. There were four of us (two couples) and they have 2 king beds. I would highly recommend Tina and Mike's place. 6th floor oceanfront was the best! What a view! The condo was very tastefully decorated. We absolutely loved everything about it. You can't beat the location and the beautiful beach! I can't say enough about the whole experience! Tina was extremely helpful from start to finish. We have stayed in a few other ocean front units at Ixchel II and yours is by far the best one. The ameities, furnishings and extra touches that you have done really make your guests feel at home. The owners Tina and Mike could not have been easier to work with. They bend over backwards to help with questions, special requests and really try hard to make their guests feel like you are one of thier family. We would recomend this vacation experience to anyone. Once you stay, you will never want to leave.

We just returned from a week long stay at the condo and had a wonderful time! The view was absolutely amazing and the accomodations top notch! Tina and Mike really have gone above and beyond helping us coordinate the details of our trip and have thought of everything for their guests! From the flat screen tvs, to the VOIP, & wireless internet, their unit has all of the "extra little touches" that make a good vacation great. The staff was helpful, responsive and friendly - and the island beautiful. We can't wait to go back again!

The condo is in excellent condition and is very nicely furnished and equipped. The owners are very friendly and helpful with all inquiries. Ixchel is in a terrific location right on Playa Norte, easy walking distance to everything on the north end of the island. The end unit balcony is particularly nice and enormous. We will return.

Thank you for sharing your amazing condo with us. We have traveled extensively and we have truly ended the search for a perfect winter vacation. Your condo is beautiful and perfectly located only two blocks from downtown restaurants and bars. The balcony with the accordion folding patio doors allowed us to sleep every night to the sound of the waves against the sand. The decorations and high end amenities are what we have come to expect and you did not disappoint. Clearly you are caring host who go the extra mile to take care of your guest, the VOIP phone and the left over DVD's and books were a nice touch, you run your condo like I would and not solely as a business. Everything was perfect from the balcony, decorations, maid service, sand, sea, food and Cerveza!! We will return!! Greg Renaud

We stayed at unit 610 from 11/30-12/5/09 and it was an amazing place. After spending weeks researching a place for our wedding anniversary I chose this place due to the balcony and oceanfront setting. I was so glad I did. The condo is a 5+ star unit, very nice furnishings, comfortable bed and incredible views from every room of the beautiful Carribean. the beach was the nicest on the island. Every day our biggest decision was do we watch the sunset from the water or go up to the balcony. The balcony always won. We enjoyed watching the lightning in the distance at night. It was fun to take the ferry to the island. When we got off the boat and asked for directions we were told go 2 blocks to the Plaza turn left and walk straight to the beach. We rented a golf cart and explored the island for a day and know we were at the best location on the island. My husband kept asking me how I found this place. He was in heaven,going snorkeling and scuba diving. I enjoyed being on the beach, swimming and just relaxing. At night we would go to the Sunset Grill next door and sit beachfront with a great meal of fresh fish. Walking downtown there are so many shops and restaurants to choose from. Having the maid service everyday was also a treat. Everyone at the complex was very nice and accomodating . I could go on and on about this condo. Tina and Mike were great to work with. I highly recommend stayin at this unit.

This is long over due (our trip was in early September 2009)...so my apologies. Wow! What an amazing condo...from the rooms (having 2 King beds), the decor, the very, very comfy beds, the "little" things (portable cooler, floating rafts for the water, koozie cups), the shower with a view, the collection of movies and magazines, and who could forget the VIEW from the balcony...Jaw dropping. Everything was just perfect, and we loved our "Welcome" surprise from Mike and Tina. This was our second stay at Ixchel II, but our first at this condo, and we can say without a doubt...NOT our last (as long as they will have us back :) Thanks again Mike and Tina for everything, you made our trip remarkable! This was our second visit to Ixchel and the first to stay at this condo. There were five of us in our party and we were celebrating our birthdays. The condo is absolutely gorgeous and the owners went above and beyond to ensure our birthday celebrations were wonderful. This was our second trip to Ixchel and this unit is second to none in the complex. The owners just recently updated the furniture and the decor. Much nicer than most of the other units, most of which still have the same furniture the units originally came with. The view is spectacular. This is one of just a few units that have 2 king beds, great for couples sharing a unit. We've been all over Mexico. Isla is tough to beat. Can't wait to return. Thank you Mike and Tina !

This is a first class unit with all amenities. We were 2 couples, and it was a perfect set-up. 2 kings and 2 baths, large living area, HUGE wrap around balcony, spectacular views. It even has a VOIP phone so we could call home at no extra cost. I highly recommend this unit and we hope to go back next year.
