The apartment was great, we had plenty of room for the four of us. It was warm, the location is fantastic and the tips regarding restaurants great!!! The blow up bed worked well. The outdoor area was cute we did not use it as it was cold but in summer gives the place another spot to enjoy. It was a safe area and the lower east side our favourite!!! Ken was easy to deal with, no nonsense and it all worked very well. Apartment 1 front bedrrom which we stayed in had the front door traffic noise. We didn't mind it, the street is quiet for NYC and the city has such a buzz it nearly adds the electric nature of the place but fussy sleeper may be better with the aprt with tine bedrooms out the back. Loved every second of it... My daughters are now trying to figure out how to move to NYC!!!! Me too Thanks ken !Recommended for: Tourists without a car, families with teenagers, girls getaway.

We had a fantastic time in this apartment, close to pretty much everything we wanted to get to and super easy to access cab, public transportation etc. We happened to be there in the middle of hurricane Sandy and got stuck and the owner was remarkably nice about the situation. HIGH RECOMMEND!!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, tourists without a car, girls getaway.

These apartments are located in a pleasant building in a great neighborhood in New York. Apartment 2 was attractive, had adequate space and closet room for 2-3, a good kitchen, and everything you need for a pleasant stay. I had to book an apartment at the last minute due to late changes in my schedule and Ken was very helpful in getting me all the information I needed and expediting the process. The whole process from booking to checkout was easy and pleasant. The thing that is ideal about this place is its location. There are trendy and exciting neighborhoods within easy walking distance, the subway is near by and there are amazing restaurants within a short walking distance. If you want to experience the "real" New York," This is a great opportunity to do so. Away from tourists, you live like a New Yorker, but can also easily reach all the exciting visitor spots in the City. I really can't think of any negatives except that the stairs in the front of the building are a little steep, so if you're unsteady on your feet, this could be an issue, but for most, it will be no problem at all. Have a great stay!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

This apartment was a perfect short holiday home for me and my grown up daughter during our visit to NYC. Nice, quiet neighborhood, close to everything you might need, in forms of food stores, bars, and restaurants, and a Subway station within walking distance to take you uptown or further downtown. It was nice after a day in the more busy (traffic, business people, tourists) parts of New York to "come home" to a more relaxed environment. The fully equipped kitchen was a benefit. And we had space enough to spread out all the stuff we bought before packing and going home. This way of staying was a good mixture of home and away and the welcome we got when arriving was also very nice.Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, age 55+, pet owners, families with young children, girls getaway.

My wife and I have stayed here numerous times throughout 2012. It's very clean and quiet. It's a nice apartment in a great neighborhood: comfy couch, a big comfy bed and friendly folks in the building. The landlord is really nice and responsible. Although we've stayed in his other apartments, we prefer this one and always ask for it. The apartment is close to Anthology Film Archives, The Public Theater, La MaMa, fantastic restaurants, a food co-op, Whole Foods, and numerous subway stops. This is the place to be to be in the center of it all, yet tucked away on a quiet street.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

My husband and I stayed in apt. #3 for two nights and loved it! The apt. is small and cozy, very clean and unexpectedly quiet! The bedroom was surprisingly large with a comfy bed and plenty of closet space. The kitchen is tiny but has everything you need if you want to stay in, and the full bath is big enough and very clean. The location is just perfect - in the West Village and an easy walk to Greenwich Village, with both having endless choices of restaurants, shops, nightlife, etc. I especially liked being in a neighborhood with a local feel to it, rather than the crazed tourist vibe in Midtown. It was great to look out the window and see trees instead of high rises! Ken was great - he responded quickly to questions, had several pages of helpful information on the area, and made the rental process easy. I will definitely stay here again!Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

We stayed in apartment 1E one of the three apartments in this building. We were a party of four adults, two in their late fifties and two in late twenties, on an eight-day first time visit to New York. We wanted accommodation that could allow us an authentic NYC experience, that was bigger than a shoe box and where we could prepare occasional meals. This property met all those criteria, and was reasonably priced. The apartment has been well lived-in, but is clean and functional. The bathroom and kitchen are both small, but work well. During our stay humidity and temperatures in NYC were incredibly high, but the two air conditioners at either end of the apartment kept us at acceptable temperatures, and of course we could always go the refrigerator and cool down with a beer when circumstances demanded. Whilst not actually in Greenwich Village, the location couldn't be better. The Bowery is a lively area, with plenty of interesting and edgy food and entertainment options within an easy and safe walking distance in every direction around the apartment. This was very appealing to us, as we wanted to experience the live music scene, but be able to walk home after the show, rather than commit to a lengthy commute late at night. Some great venues for jazz, blues and comedy in nearby Bleecker St, the Bowery Ballrooom for rock and roll only a few blocks away, experimental jazz at The Stone in the East Village, or big names at the Village Vanguard to the west. Food options for eating out and stocking the larder abound. Drop off your washing at a laundry around the corner before 9am and pick it up dried and folded at 6pm for a $1/lb. Subway & buses at nearby Astor Place to explore beyond the 'hood. Owner Ken responds promptly to emails and phone calls. He is a straight shooter. We were trepidatious as first-time users of vrbo.com, and having to organise everything by email from Australia. Ken delivered on everything we agreed to. For Australians who are familiar with Melbourne, think of this as North Fitzroy, but with more fun options by about ten times.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway.

We just returned from NYC and stayed in Apt. #3 for 5 nights. It was great. Very clean, even under the sofa when we pulled out the sofa bed. It had lots of little thoughtful extras. Location was great. Bedroom was large with lots of closet and storage space. I will call again for my next trip. Ken was delightful to work with.Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.
