This comfortable 3 bedroom/2 bath cottage/chalet sleeps 7 and is easy access located just off the New Seward Highway in the Mountain Resort Town of Girdwood, near the Scenic Coastal Trail System, Alaska Railway Depot within walking distance. It has views of Mount Alyeska and Max's Mountain nestled in its own Spruce Forest. Great year-around Southern exposure. Travelers with well behaved children and pets are welcome.
132 Jewel Mine is fully furnished for an overnight or a long stay. Beds are comfortable and well dressed with comfy sheets and duvets. One Queen, one Full and two Twins, couch can convert to sleep one person. Downstairs there is a shower, commode and sink, upstairs, full bath and double sink. Full kitchen, washer/dryer.
Coast Pizza, the Ice Cream Shoppe, The Tourist Trap and Girdwood Diner are all an easy walk, quick drive from the Cottage.
Girdwood's many other shops, restaurants/pubs and galleries and the Resort village are just up the bike path or ride the Girdwood shuttle up Aleska Highway deeper into the valley.
Lots of wildlife to keep your camera ready as you explore the Coastal Trail on the Turnagain Arm, Moose, Dall Sheep, Eagles and the occasional black bear can be seen regularly in the valley and many other species and wetland birds.
This home is close to so many activities, Ocean Kayaking, Glacier Cruising, Helicopter flight seeing, Scenic Railway Rides, Pampering Spa Activities, Hiking/ Skiing Mount Alyeska and many area trails. You can fill several days using this cottage as a hub to explore Kenai Fjords, Prince William Sound, Hiking the Chugach, Salmon Fishing and Dip netting, Biking the Coastal Trails, Heli hiking/skiing the Kenai Peninsula.
Seward is just 80 miles/1.5 hours to the south, Whittier is 15 miles south, Anchorage is 35 miles/minutes north. The drive is rated by National Geographic magazine as one of the top ten most scenic in North America. All three cities may be reached by Alaska Railway or motor coach and shuttle.
