I would have to say for a vacation with a family with adults and grandchildren this couldn't been a more perfect place to stay. The place is spacious a bit quirky but adds to the overall feel of the area. The convience of being right in town within walking distance of pizza parlor, coffee shops, as well as gift shops was excellent. Enjoying the creek in the yard, and having everything at the home we needed. It was such a wonderful experience we will be doing it again.

My husband, 14 year ols son and his 15 year old friend rented this wonderful cabin at the end of Aug 2010 for a week. When we first got there, it wasn't as secluded as I had hoped. It actually ended up being perfect. My husband enjoyed being able to walk down to the little coffee shop in the morning. We both enjoyed riding our bikes down to the local market. My son and his friend enjoyed walking around town and walking to the park where they met other local kids. They had a really yummy malt shop not far that we would go and have ice cream at. The cabin had everything we needed. The beds were comfortable, my son and his friend liked the fact that they could share a room but sleep in seperate beds. The bedroom decor was great, the bathrooms were nice with great showers, the kitchen was nice and big with a great dining table for all of us to eat at. We really enjoyed cooking and BBQing. Not to mention having a washer & dryer-wonderful. It was also great to go out and sit next to the creek and listen to it flow, or just have the windows open and listen to it. We really had a wonderful time. It only took minutes to get to a place to go ATVing, shooting, kayaking, rafting, swimming etc... Lassen Volcanic National Park is a must visit with only a 20 minute or so drive. Thank you very much for providing a great place to crash after a long day out.

Had much fun staying at this house. Great location for getting to all the Mt Lassen/Lake Almanor activities. Just a couple blocks off the main street in Chester. Home was very comfortable and clean. Nice residential neighborhood was good for an early morning or late evening dog walk There is no phone line and my cell phone didn't work in Chester (Virgin mobile/Sprint phone) but the one functioning pay phone in town is just a couple minutes walk away at the "Corner Store".

My family and my sister's family stayed in this historic home for the first week in August. It was truly a wonderful home. We loved everything about it. It is very well appointed, clean and decorated so tastefully. The owner was there to meet us and was very helpful during our entire stay. She was great in guiding us around the sweet town of Chester and lake Almanor. We had the best of both worlds with being in town and spending the days on the lake. The greatest coffee shop is right around the corner from the house and shops and restaurants are a short walk away. We were all very sad to leave and would of stayed longer had it not been rented out. We hope to return next year and would not hesitate to stay here again. Thanks for everything Miriam!!!

Nice clean home. Weather was perfect for sitting outside and listening to the running water, very peaceful. Neighbors who walked by or rode bikes by would wave or say hi. Our Maltipoo, Charley loved the yard, and was always wanting to chase the Robins. Distance to town was an easy walk. We rented a pontoon boat and cruised and fished. A lovely lake. Everyone we came in contact with was very friendly. We can't wait to return. Hopefully for a longer period of time.

Our family recently stayed in this lovely home in Chester and it far surpassed our expectations. The home was very spacious with plenty of room to spread out for our growing family. The landscape was beautiful with the creek flowing through and we enjoyed several peaceful hours just sitting outside catching up. The house was immaculate, every appliance & convenience thought of, and a neighbor very kindly loaned us bikes (7 of them, to be exact), even dropping them off for us in our yard! We loved the whole experience and will definitely return again.
