Due to the hillside location of the villa you should rent a vehicle. Rental vehicles can be easily arranged to suit your requirements. You can take taxis, but it is easier to rent a vehicle or motorcycle. Due to safety on the island, we always recommend that people rent vehicles over motorbikes.

The check in and check out process was really easy and convenient. All the facilities and furniture in the apartment is as same as the pictures on website. Mr. Bob and his colleague are very nice and patient. We are highly recommended this villa to anyone else. Thanks for everything you did for us. My wife and I recently returned from an absolutely fantastic vacation in Koh Samui. We had recently begun new jobs in a very busy Asian city and were really looking forward to our first break from work and some seriously well deserved relaxation. What made this trip just perfect for us wasn’t the island itself so much, but rather our decision to rent the house, Villa Samprasada. The house is just as lovely in person as it looks in the pictures on the website. Everything is very well maintained: the pool immaculate, all those fantastic lights for creating mood in the evening functioned wonderfully, speaker zones throughout the villa to create just the right musical mood, charming landscaping, screaming fast wireless Internet, big flat screen TV’s, a kitchen stocked with everything you could possibly need. It’s quite obvious the owner cares a lot about the place and that he himself visits on a regular basis. These kinds of things don’t just happen without some serious dedication to the place. Renting the house was extremely easy, from the initial contact with Rob the owner, to being picked up at the airport by the smiling face of ‘Oh’, the young woman who manages the villa. We rented one of ‘Oh’s’ cars for the eight days of our stay. The rental price was great, came with full insurance and the car ran beautifully. Upon arrival there was tons of fresh fruit laid out, bottled water stocked up, really all you have to do is buy some food and start living like a local. Driving around town and walking along the beaches, I felt sorry for the other tourists who were stuck in, what were for the most part rather run-down looking hotels. All in all, it was easier to book this house and car then it would have been to book an all exclusive hotel, and yet the two experiences are worlds apart. The house sits up on a hill which overlooks the ocean. We drove into town most days, sometimes walked the beach, shopped for fresh seafood and fruits at the market, and would eagerly return to the villa to relax and look forward to an evening of fresh drinks, steamed clams and grilled fish in the comfort and privacy of our own home. Even though the view of the ocean is there as you drive down the hill for supplies, the house itself does not have a view of the ocean; probably it’s only down side. But, realistically, if it did have a view of the sea, the price would be three times as high and I certainly could not have afforded it. We had a fantastic time at the villa! It was our first time in Koh Samui and yet we ended up spending most of our time at Rob's beautiful retreat. The villa is situated up in the hills, giving you some relief from the heat, traffic and noise that can be encountered in other areas and resorts in Koh Samui. A true oasis. Everything we needed was within short driving distance including groceries, beaches, towns, markets and great roadside food (some of the best radna we have had anywhere in Thailand!). The layout and appointments of the villa were first rate. Loved having the option and flexibility of dining, bathing/showering and lounging outside. We are already planning our next trip to Rob's villa and I am sure some of our friends will be as well.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

The owner has a great eye for detail and no comfort is neglected. The kitchen is well stocked with every applicance you could ever desire! The living room and outdoor dinning sala are very comfortable and great for entertaining. We hardly left the villa except to go shopping for groceries. The staff keeps the place very clean and Khun Oh provides instant service when requested. She also rented us a very nice car at an excellent rate. We had a fantastic time and plan on returning.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

Check in time is 3PM and checkout time is 10:30AM. Plus there is a charge of 8 baht a unit for electricity (the villa looks so good that no one ever seems to want to turn off the lights--and this averages $15 to $20 a day although you can flat it out at $17.50 a day).

Cancellation policy:
Check in time is 3PM and checkout time is 10:30AM, unless just in the days prior to your arrival and departure we know there is flexibility. One airport pickup and one dropoff included in each rental. Maid service is 3x a week. As this is a "one of" rental, I don't offer refunds so I recommend trip cancellation insurance. "Oh," my house manager rents her cars out to 90% of my renters so I can put you in contact with her for vehicle rentals. I can also send you a Villa Renters Guide now which has information on my villa and nearby restaurants and attractions. Thanks!

About the owner: I am a television commercial producer who lives both in Los Angeles and Koh Samui, but I prefer to spend most of my time between jobs in Koh Samui. Thanks to the internet, Vonage, Skype, cell phones and my Blackberry it became clear to me that I could live anywhere and prep my jobs and then commute to wherever in the world I need to shoot and I found that Koh Samui, with the proximity of Bangkok, is a great place to be. We have amazing friends on the island from all over the world....and friends are always dropping in to stay at the villa. (Note: the photo is taken at Tiger Temple outside of Bangkok)
Why the Owner Chose Koh Samui:
I've traveled to 75+ countries and could have chosen a vacation home almost anywhere, but I found that Thailand was the one country I really missed when I was away...and it always felt great to be back. I started traveling to Koh Samui in 1995 when Chaweng was just a dirt road. In later years I would bounce back and forth on my Thailand trips between Koh Samui and Phuket, but found I much preferred Koh Samui... My wife and I found this house accidentally. There was a misprint on a real estate sign and we thought the house was 1/4 of the price it was actually listed it. However, we didn't know this until we had seen the house and....had fallen in love with it the minute we walked in the door and had to buy it.
The Unique Benefits at this Villa:
I say in the listing that the villa looks just as the pictures represent it to be....a Balinese fantasy home (in Thailand). When the house is lit up at night it is spectacular....really beautiful. And waking up in the morning one of the bedrooms has a straight shot to the sunrise, (depending on the time of the year) which is fantastic. Living here, we entertain a lot and it's a great house for that. And the house is very private, as is most of the pool, and that is a big bonus. The villa is good sized, and I know of many homes that are even larger that don't have the lifestyle aspects that this villa offers. The villa builders also did a great job with the landscaping so that the entire grounds is lush...looking from every room you have a great abundance of lush landscaping (even more lush since the photos were taken). I also appreciate that you can get to Fisherman's Village/Bophut in about five minutes drive and the restaurants there are great (and varied), and the village is fun to walk through and shop. Go have dinner at "The Shack..." and meet Larry, the owner. It's always a good night there. And if we want to go to Chaweng for even more extensive nightlife, it's only 15 minutes away.
