Located on West Beach in Gulf Shores, Gulf Shores Surf and Racquet Club is in a low density area of fine beach homes. Still, it is just minutes to all the fun the area offers.
Enjoy watching the sunset across the Little Lagoon from the expansive piers equipped with sinks to wash your catch and lights to guide you home after dark. Play tennis or work on your putting, on our little green. Enjoy the hot tub while the children play in the lagoon pool. Hear the sounds of the waterfall while you read a book under the palm trees. Take a morning stroll on the beach. Work on your tan. Search for sea shells..........

My husband was told that the condo is usually ready at 1:00 pm. So we arrive at 1:00 pm, we notice they are still cleaning the room, they tell us give them 20 more minutes. We begin to unload all of our luggage in the hallway beside the room. We ask if we can put our groceries in the fridge b/c we have milk for our 13 month old daughter. We are immediately told no you cannot put anything inside until the room is inspected. We wait for 1 hour and 30 min outside in the hallway while the room is being cleaned. I asked the people after an hour how long it was going to be. They got rude with me for asking and insisted that noone ever told us the room would be ready at 1:00. Even emailed the owner and she changed her story. She could have at least apologized for the cleaning people being rude to us, but no she said she told us we could check in if the room was clean and ready! She didn't say that she said "Room is usually ready at 1:00." So we thought what any other normal person would think. After waiting for an hour and 30 min for this tiny condo to be cleaned. My daughter crawled through it and her entire legs and feet were black! Nice job on that cleaning that took so long guys! On a better note: The room is decorated very nicely, it looks better in person than in the pictures. The king size bed is very comfortable. There is no privacy in the bedroom b/c it has no door it is open to the kitchen. The bathroom is very tiny and there was only 1 roll of toilet paper which ran out the second afternoon. The television in the living room is extremely small and picks up a small amount of channels. The pull out bed on the sofa sleeper is comfortable, there were no sheets for it but there were blankets and pillows. Overall I would not stay here again, mainly because of the way we were treated by one of the ladies in the cleaning crew and especially the owner.Owner response: Brandon, my good intentions turned out bad. My rental agreement states that check in time is 3:00p.m. But when you only have a few nights at the beach you want to spend every minute enjoying it. And if you can check in earlier and get settled in, well that is wonderful. I looked at my email to you and I did say the condo is usually ready about 1:00. And a lot of days it is. But I should have added “ I can’t promise it will be”. I am sorry if my email in response to the check in time appeared rude. I did not intend for it to. But more importantly, I am sorry if that experience messed up your time at the beach. Sincerely, Renee Cox No I never felt like you was being rude but the cleaning people kind of were to my wife. We simply asked if we could put the milk in the fridge and we was going to put the rest back in the truck and go do something while they cleaned and I think then something was said and my wife felt like they were being rude. That is when she sent that email from my phone to you. We understood they had to clean but they told us first just hang on we will be done in 20 minutes and then it was over an hour later. Then once we got in there my daughter crawled around on the floor and her legs were black from the floor. So we cleaned the floor after that. They were who we felt was rude not you. About the owner: I love THE BEACH, the sound of the surf hitting the shore, the feel of the sand between my toes, watching the sun come up across the water, seeing the last bit of red sky at sunset.
Why the Owner Chose Gulf Shores Surf & Racquet Club:
I bought this condo 'with my heart'. It is very well maintained and landscaped with lots of tropical flowers and palm trees. It has 'THE BEACH' and a wonderful lagoon, a beautiful pool, tennis courts, barbecue grills, and it is in a low density area of mostly beach houses. I have room to put up my chair and umbrella and not rub elbows with someone else. But, it is not far from all the great restaurants and fun things to do after the sun sets.
