This cabin is the ultimate in retreats to take a family vacation or to simply go to reflect or recover from the stresses of everyday life. There is a main cabin in addition to a guest cabin that children love to call their own space. With shady gardens, clear spring-fed trout streams right outside your door, water shoals placidly ripple and sooth your spirit. FAMILIES WITH KIDS WILL NEVER LEAVE THE RIVER as there is good fun to be had fishing, hiking and wading in the water. This cabin is loaded with charm and good spirit! The gardens are a culmination of 30 years of work and TLC- full of exotic and lushious flora. The cabin is equipped with all the necessary comforts of home including a large gourmet-equipped kitchen, washer/dryer. TV's with Dish,DVR,DVD,VCR,Stereo,High-Speed/WiFi Internet Access. This place really will replenish you with peace and tranquility. There is a seperate cabin/efficiency suite (available as option at time of rental) which sleeps 4-5 with full bath. The "Dog House" is a perfect play-room/hang out for children (but bring DVD player for Dog House if desired for kids) or that wayward spouse needing to be put in "time-out".

We wanted a place to get away for several days after the madness of Christmas and this was a perfect cabin for it. The cabin was very clean and well maintained and plenty big enough for just the two of us. Four would be very comfortable and with more than that, the "doghouse" would be the perfect addition. We didn't need that so I can't comment on it. The pictures don't do it justice as to how much room you have, with a large kitchen and living area, a great den with fireplace, and a spectacular porch. The best thing would have to be its position next to the water and the outdoor seating with fire pit. Despite the cold, we spent a lot of time outside, bundled up and with plenty of coffee. And one of the bedrooms faces the water so it was fantastic to open the windows and hear the creek at night. Since we were there in winter, the landscaping obviously wasn't really in bloom but I would imagine all the work the owner has done to the gardens and grounds would be beautiful. The owner was very easy to contact and helpful with the reservations. VRBO lists the property as accepting credit cards but that was not available and would be the only added convenience I wish were there. Also, we had a slight problem with the internet access and with no firewood on premise when we arrived, but the owner was extremely helpful and prompt with solving those issues as fast as possible. We drove in to Blue Ridge for some shopping and to get some groceries. Nice town, worth a little sight seeing, but we spent most of our time and almost all meals at the cabin. I would absolutely recommend this place to friends needing a getaway and will definitely go back.

We visited August 8-13, 2011. The cabin is so comfortable and well designed, we all felt as though we could live there full time, but would get in trouble because we wouldn't want to go to work! We relaxed, played in the creek, tubed, enjoyed the hot tub and the wonderful naturalized landscaping, special new landscape lights. We also loved the wonderful shops in Downtown Blueridge! We also went Whitewater Rafting on the Ocoee River, and Zip lining! We especially appreciated the "dog house" extra space and quiet. We enjoyed all of the available items in the Kitchen and the wonderful counter space. But the best of all was being able to get up in the morning and go relax on the deck, listening to the creek burble. We didn't do much fishing, but we did see several "eatin'" size fish from the deck and plenty of little growers. We were impressed with how comfortable we were even in late summer, the house is shaded and the higher elevation contributes to the cooler feel of the air. The day we left, the temperature outside the cabin was 15 degrees cooler than the temperature in Elijay, less than 45 minutes later. We would love to return, and would recommend this cabin to our friends without reservation.
