Deer Creek is a charming cozy cottage surrounded by towering redwoods and situated only a few feet from a magical part of pristine Austin Creek. Located on East Austin Creek Road, it is a very tranquil area. The cottage was recently remodeled for comfort and it's eclectic decor combines modern convenience with antiques and touches of old world Tyrolean details reminiscent of my father and grandparents.

We had a great stay at the cottage. It has the most amazing quality of being both light and airy, and cozy at the same time. Access to the creek made for great fun for the kids and our dog. The location allowed us to enjoy creek, river and ocean time. Amazing. Oh, and there is a fabulous bakery just up the road to Cazadero. We will be back.
Recommended for:Romantic getaway, pet owners, families with young children, girls getaway, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, age 55+.

I dream about this amazing place. I want it to become a place that I return to again and again. It is just hard to find the time in our busy schedules. I was in the luxury inn business for over 15 years and the appointments and quality of the detail is as charming and lovely as any I have known. I even prefer being off the busy Russian River and found the Creek swimming hole to be private, cool and very inviting. The water was running along the Creek in June and when we went back in October. I saw otters and ducks on my morning walks, herons too; and the majestic redwoods are humbling. I also love the sunny meadow that leads to the Creek in its natural state and you can do many lovely walks just out the door. Moona, the owner could not be more accommodating and she has designed the tiny interior space well so it feels like there is plenty of room. Other towns and the wild California coast are minutes away. The town of Cazadero has the best bakery. Mostly we stayed and cooked at home. I love it here.
