Home and Property are beautiful! Sharon was a pleasure to work with also. The home had everything we needed and very clean. My 3 children had a FANTASTIC time running and playing all through the large property all to themselves. They actually did not want to leave into town so we can sightsee! I especially loved sitting there relaxing watching them enjoy themselves! The play set and basketball court were a plus. Thank you Sharon.

We had a fantastic weekend in June here. Goergeous weather, lots of things to do nearby and a great host, Sharon. Your emails get answerd faster than your broker and she is so helpful is suggesting things to do nearby. The home is rustic, but with all modern amenities. Bose player (plus in your iPhone Pandora and its a party), WiFi, cable TV, etc. Great BBQ machine at the back. Lots of towels and wonderful linens. The lawn was so well manicured. There are kids toys, tennis racquets, balls, in the shed. They have 2 picnic tables and a great play-area for kids. It is all good. One suggestion is to add a washer/dryer so we can stay the whole week and pack less. Will stay again for sure.

My family and I just recently returned from our 3 night stay at this house, and it exceeded our expectations. The house is at the end of a long country drive, tucked away out of view. A friend we have living just down the road for years didn't even know it was there! The house had beautiful rustic charm, yet all the creature comforts you'd expect. It was clean, neat, and comfortable. The ample dining room is great for large families, and the living room was very comfortable. Old wide plank flooring is found throughout, and I really liked that all 4 bedrooms are in close proximity to one another, so the kids were always nearby. The house was plenty warm, and there were more than enough dishes, linens, housewares, etc, even for my large family. It would have been nice to have a washer/dryer, but all the old house character was more than a worthy trade-off. The owners were terrific to deal with and very accomadating. I received quick responses to all my emails. A very nice touch was the reading material and area information that the owners had at the house. The land around the house was just breathtaking. If you have young children, it's a dream. There's a great playground set, as well as a huge open field that must be several acres. There's also an oversized basketball court to play on, and a very quaint area off to the side with a fire pit and rustic seating. We have T-mobile for our cell service and were not able to get any reception at all. Fortunately, the house has a wi-fi connection, so we were able to email our friends in the area to make plans. I highly recommend this home for a getaway, and hope to be back soon myself! You won't be disappointed!

My family stayed at the farmhouse recently and had an amazing time. It was so nice to be able to return to this incredible house in a beautiful peaceful setting after braving the crowds at Hershey Park and Dutch Wonderland. We all looked forwarding to coming back to the house at the end of the day. The property is great for kids - the playset and the property in general are just perfect for getting the kids to burn some of their energy. This is definitely the way to go if you visit Lancaster County --- especially with kids. I look forward to returning here.

My family enjoyed a nice week away from the city at the farmhouse. My boys (1 and 4) loved playing in the huge front yard, on the swing set, and in the sand box. My husband and I loved going out to shoot hoops on the basketball court at night. The house has beautiful historical details, but is very comfortable with all the modern conveniences. The location feels remote while you're there, but it's a short drive to lots of attractions around Lancaster County. Thanks for a lovely getaway!

Our family throughly enjoyed our week stay at the farmhouse. We used it has a "homebase" for day trips to Intercourse, Strausburg, Gettysburg, Hershey, Philadelphia, and Seasame Place. The accomadations were excellent with comfortable beds for everyone and plenty of room for the family to spread out. Our 2 year old was thrilled with the playset and finding out that he could pick an apple from the apple tree in the evenings. There was no better way to enjoy Lancaster County than to live like the locals for a few days. After a 20 hour drive from Baton Rouge, LA... the farmhouse was incredibly inviting. I would recommend this for families with small children or for adults looking to getaway from it all. Grab a glass of wine from the local winery and some home cheese and enjoy a lovely evening on the front porch watching the deer and bunnies!

My family (four kids under five) stayed at the home for a week. The kids loved the big yard and swingset. We were happy to have such seclusion and not worry about kids and traffic. WIth special diet children it was nice to have a clean functional kitchen and eating space. Very quiet and clean, mornings were great with the birds and even the bunnies (kids are not faster then bunnies). Location is perfect to see all the attractions in the area or just to relax. We will stay here again and recommend it to anyone especially families. Josh, Tammy, Noah, Isaiah, Abigail, Luke and Aunt Mercy

Our family of 6 thoroughly enjoyed our 4 day getaway. The drive through the mountains and valleys from Southern Ontario was scenic and often breath-taking. We visited Bird-in-Hand & Strasburg, attended the Sight & Sound production of "Joseph" (fabulous!), took several leisurely drives through the absolutely beautiful Lancaster County area, met some charming Amish people, attended the World War II Weekend at Reading Airport (spectacular!), had our fill at the Shady Maple Smorgasbord, did some geocaching (www.geocaching.com for info), and visited some yard sales. In between all this, we enjoyed some wonderful family times at the Stone Farmhouse. What a great experience for all of us, to have an opportunity to live in a 200+ year old stone home, and yet enjoy all the modern amenities one could require. Family game night in the huge dining room was great, and we also got lots of quiet reading done. The natural peacefulness of the setting is perfect for a stress-free vacation or re-energizing weekend. Thanks Sharon & family for a much needed, thoroughly wonderful stay!

We loved our stay at the farmhouse. We had lots of young children who enjoyed running around the grounds and the awesome playset. We enjoyed sitting on the front porch, grilling on the back porch, and just taking in the peace and quiet and imagining all the history of the home. Everything we could have possibly needed was there (e.g. kitchen utensils, pots, pans, towels, hair dryer) and the house was immaculate. We will definitely be back!

My husband and I took our three kids (6, 4, 2) to the farmhouse for the weekend. We had a great time just hanging out together! The house was simply furnished and had nice bed linens and towels. It's really clean and certainly feels like it's recently been redone. At the same time, it feels like it should-a 200-year-old farmhouse. It's pretty amazing to think about how old it is and imagine who all has lived there. Even 17 degrees and snow couldn't keep my kids from running around the large front yard and playing on the climbing structure. My little girl kept calling it the playground. I can only imagine how much fun they could have if it were 85 ouside! We explored around town a bit and shopped at the Amish market that is located close-by . It was fun to pick out our food for the weekend there. The kitchen at the farmhouse is small, but workable. It was really clean and well-stocked (maybe not for a serious foodie, but you can certainly make it work!). All in all we had a great time and hope to go back when it gets warmer.

We spent four days (12/31/09 - 1/4/10) in this charming farmhouse to celebrate our parents' 40 year anniversary. It was just perfect! Nice and cozy, perfect for enjoying our time together as a family. The dining room table was nice and big so we could all sit together and enjoy our meals together. The nearby Shady Maple Market (literally just 5 mins up the road) has a very wide variety and it was very reasonably priced, so we were able to find everything we needed to cook all our own meals. Once at the house, we had everything we needed. Sharon has the house stocked with all the necessary items to cook all your meals. Every time we reached for something we needed, we'd find it. The house was also VERY clean, so we felt very comfortable. The beds were super comfortable too. The outlet malls were only 30 mins away, so that was a nice outing also. We really have nothing negative to say about it. Sharon and her husband were both VERY accommodating, and made themselves available for anything we needed, which was comforting. It's really the perfect place when you need to get away from it all, especially the City! We hope to stay again, this time in the spring/summer, because it must be absolutely beautiful that time of year with so many trees around. Even with the trees bare, it was beautiful...the perfect setting for such a special occasion!

My family, including 2 babies under, 2 kids, 1 teenager, and 4 adults recently stayed at this lovely property. Rooms are beautifully furnished and offer every amenity. Sharon (owner) went out of her way to accommodate us, even helping with our little one's sleeping arrangements by providing us with a pack and play! The house is secluded and the grounds pristine. It is in the heart of Amish country with wonderful veggie/fruit stands and Shady Maple Market was a REVELATION. We were so happy to have found this amazing property and recommend it completely!

This beautifully maintained farmhouse is just the thing for someone looking to get away from the city! There are a lot of activities in the area such as hiking, shopping, shows, hot air balloon rides, and amusement parks. As well as everything that is the Amish country. The owners are very accommodating and are very knowledgeable about the area. They recommended restaurants and activities that we would have never thought of on our own. They were very professional in all of our dealing concerning the rental as well. Everything was correct and on time. I would highly recommend this property to anyone!

I spent an amaze weekend here in second week of Aug and it was very pleasant. It was very picturesque in the summer, I found the house to be very spacious and homely - it did not appear as a typical summer-fall rental, just very comfortable and relaxing for all family members. The owner is very kind and professional person. My little brother forgot his cell phone there. The owner found it after we leave the place, so she sends the phone to us with an express mail. I would highly recommend this vacation spot.

We were so lucky to find this wonderful vacation rental home. It was just what our weary souls needed...peace, quiet, solitude and beauty. Staying in this historic home, we felt we had stepped back to simpler times, yet with all the modern conveniences. Out little girls were simply delighted by the grounds. Lush lawns that strech forever, we truly felt like we had our own private park. The playground was super fun for all of us and wait until you see the giant sandbox, magically hidden under the branches of a huge magnolia tree. We had plans to eat out, but once we arrived we knew we would dine on the front porch each evening. Deer grazing in the distance, fireflies glowing each night...what more could we ask for. We especailly appreciated having a proper full size crib available for our baby, and our 5 year old debated each night whether she should sleep in the top or bottom bunk bed! The drive to Dutch Wonderland is pretty short, and very beautiful. Just two miles away is an amazing Grocery - Shady Maple, which has the best deli / take out section I've seen. All in all, pure delight. Thank you to our gracious hosts.

My friend and I stayed at this home this past weekend. The home more than met our expectations. Starting from the moment we walked in to be greeted by a vase of the lovely flowers and meal ticket. Every room is so nice and neat and you feel like your in someone's home and not a rental. We definitely plan on staying there again.

We loved the house and had a very peaceful perfect Holiday. You have done a beautiful job on the restoration. Simple, beautiful, cozy, comfortable -- yet the house still feels a bit rustic and has great character. You don't usually expect an old house to be so flooded with natural light but all those windows really make it special. As you can tell, we really enjoyed it. Thank you also for the little holiday touches. It all helped make our stay very pleasant. I'll definitely recommend your place to anyone I know looking for a nice retreat. Happy New Year, Mary

We had a wonderful time in your house and in your county, loved the house and the garden with the playground for the kids !! Thanks again for all the precious information you gave me. We went to Shady Maple, to the Amish farmhouse in Lancaster (very very interesting) and to the lovely city of Lancaster.
