I just stayed, again, at this perfectly priced, lovely little gem right on the edge of Paia. The place is great. The kitchen is elegant and better stocked than most VRBOs I've rented. Everything was in great working order and sleeping in the cozy bedroom can't be beat. The owner was easy to deal with and the rental went without a hitch. Thumbs way up!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Last year, my in-laws rented this unit and we walked through on many visits while vacationing with them. We decided then that we would rent it on our next visit. In my opinion it is well appointed. The bedroom could be a little bigger but there is ample closet and storage space. It's been recently renovated and had all the features we needed. The kitchen is beautiful with an easy to clean electric range and microwave, and plenty of cooking and dinnerware. You also get cable television and internet access. It was exactly what we wanted and central to everything we wanted to do on the island (Haleakala, Lahaina snorkel trips, and Hana). The rain shower and jacuzzi bath are amazingly refreshing after a long, adventurous day. We used the shared BBQ pits on the lawn behind the complex and took advantage of all the space and the area had to offer. Make transportation arrangements if you want to do more than hang out in quaint and lovely Paia. We went to the beach just in front of the condo for the most part. More active beaches like Ho'okipa and Baldwin are just down the road. We intend to stay here on all our future visits.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing.

Dirty! Filthy floors! I cleaned when we got there and kept finding dirt. Great location. Hwy noise. Can barely see the ocean from the balcony. 3rd floor....STAIRS!!!!! Tile throughout not sealed, sand all the time on floor, kitchen counters, bathtub.... The owner is very easy to deal with, I did admire that. She gave us a discount for the uncleanliness. All in all, the location is ok, wish it was closer to the beach and not 3rd floor.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, sightseeing.
Owner response: This was an unfortunate situation for everyone involved, and ultimately resulted in our changing our cleaner, as we can not sacrifice on cleanliness. This is a family owned and operated unit, and as I was not in the area at the time, my sister who lives 5 minutes away checked on the unit, as well as did my cleaner at the time. I still do not believe the unit was filthy as stated, and in this business we have gotten used to renters of all types and I do believe this renter would have complained no matter what. We love our condo and believe it is one of the nicest in the building. Even other nearby owners have their family members stay with us, as they know it is a lovely unit. We also have a number of return renters who prefer our unit over others in the area. Some folks will never be satisfied, though we do aim to please. Also, given that the beach outside the condo is about a 3 minute walk through a small walkway between condos, all I can think of is that she did not ask or figure that out. There are a number of beaches in Paia to choose from. But our condo does share the Mamas Fish House beautiful beach, which is a stones throw away.

Couldn't have asked for a better location ! Stayed with family friends and enjoyed every bit of it . The bedroom was very cozy with plenty of storage space , and the bathroom had an amazing rain shower and jacuzzi. I'm the kind of person that is guilty of staying connected to social media ( even on vacation ) so having cable television and fast internet access what great . The modern kitchen with new appliances was perfect for the nights we didn't eat out . Also right down the road is a small town called Paia , with amazing seafood and frozen yogurt . And if that isn't enough , right outside the condo is a lovely , quite relaxing beach . This is the perfect getaway home with people you love the most , I highly recommend every part of it . Cant wait till I return .Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway.

This is a very nicely updated Unit near the artsy town of Paia. Given what we spent for the stay it was a good value, but there were some things to be aware of. The unit is not checked on and maintained regularly. For example, light bulbs burnt out, batteries needing replaced in the remotes, ceiling fan needing maintenance and dull kitchen knives. It was also very frustrating to have eight remotes and not know which goes to what and that half of them don't even work or belong there, also two DVD players one of which doesn't work. Instead of frustrating your guests, get rid of the nonworking electronics! The bathtub had not been thoroughly cleaned (we were given a credit on our cleaning fee) The owner was very responsive and took our concerns seriously. She was easy to get a hold of by phone, text and email. Also one of the previous reviews it says the yoga studio is a 4 minute walk away which was one of the selling points for me to which I was disappointed to learn it is a 3 minute drive or 20 minute walk on a busy street. Once we spent a good amount of time clearing up our issues and concerns we were able to settle in, realize we get what we pay for and enjoy ourselves which then we fell in love with Paia and the nearby beach.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

I recently traveled with my husband and son to Maui had a phenomenal stay at this rental property. The place was absolutely beautiful and within a quick walk to downtown Paia (a true surf town with great food, shops, locals, coffee shops, yoga, surf shops and an impressively large health food grocery). You definitely felt like a local instead of a tourist and I can't think of a better place to rent. The rental unit had an gorgeous, modern fully equip kitchen, a quiet bedroom and lovely accents and extras to make our stay a little easier. The rental process was seamless and we had a great experience. I spent to weeks at this condo and loved every minute! I can say that after the first day I felt completely at home! First off the condo had everything I needed, awesome kitchen, balcony, nice bathroom and good size living room space! Next was the location! I discovered a beautiful yoga studio literally about 4 minute walk away - my mornings started there and I was never late or in a rush for class because it was so close! Then decisions, decisions, which place to hop to next? I felt so close to all these cool spots - top surfing area where I sat back had lunch and took in the scene, or hop over to town to eat at yummy Mana Foods or the Mama's Fish House or take a drive up the coast? All so easy and accessible from here - I was just living it up and relaxing at the same time! And finally, the condo owner is really nice, accessible and extremely accommodating. This is the place to feel at home and relaxed!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, families with young children, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

This place took a bit of searching, but the experience I found was more than I had dreamed. The elegance of the unit and location made it hard to want to leave to go exploring. A 3 minute walk to the private beach was a daily do. The reef there forms a pool that buffers the waves. A perfect ocean experience. The neighborhood was a pleasure to explore after sundown. I always felt safe. The owners were so sweet and considerate in their dealing with me . The kitchen, the sleeping arraignments, the beautiful lanai terrace, the comfortable living and eating space, the fabulous lighting, with artisan touches everywhere were.sublime. The deep green Jacuzzi tube with the rain feature and dolphin tableau was something to be remembered always. Falling asleep in the main room while listening to the palm trees do their best impression of nightly rain felt like sleeping outside. No biting bugs. No noisy neighbors. Just solid and comforting peace. Waking every morning and looking up 10,000 feet to the top of Haleakala; there really are no words. I hope you've come far enough to read this review, you have stumbled upon one of the best places on Maui. Everything you need for a nice vacation was included in this condo. We had a fully equipped kitchen, close to a beach and were in convenient proximity to the Hana Hwy to get where we needed to go. We fell in love with Paia!!! The drive to Haleakala was no problem from here as well as the drive to the Maalaea dock. My only room for improvement would be that the bedroom is quiet small and bed is not good enough for my picky bad back. Thank you so much for the wonderful stay!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, sightseeing.

When we arrived we found out the place had not been cleaned. We left the owner a message and sent an email immediately and 2 days later she had not responded. We called her again and she reported that she had sent us and her cleaning person an email and that she suspected this was all from dust, hard water deposits and volcanic activity. We assured her that this was simple dirt as someone had not clean the tub, toilet, floors or counters in the kitchen. The owner's sister lives on the island and was going to come and inspect - this never happened. They did send a cleaning service over on the 3rd day and the place was partially cleaned. The owner reported that she would obviously not charge us the remainder of what was owed (and she did not) and would refund my last payment. We notified her to let her know that she should probably have someone evaluate the condo after a cleaning as the cleaning service obviously is doing as little as possible (owner lives in nyc). We received no response to 2 emails and a phone call. Of course, we received no further refund. As well, we reported 3 lights having no light bulbs (this included the bedroom and the balcony) and we were told they would be replaced. This never happened. No bedroom or balcony light all week. Also note that the place has nothing in it - there was 1 roll of toilet paper, no cleaning supplies for the bathroom, no paper towels or napkins and absolutely nothing of convenience for cooking (e.g., no oil, sugar, basic condiments). The place is empty. Also note - if you want to walk to town please remember that it is about 1.5 miles from town and there is no shoulder for the first mile or so. Not a big deal as long as you know. We would not stay here again -even at half the cost given the lack of responsiveness and lies by the owner. Very unfortunate as this has never happened to us before in our many , and varied, travels. She acted nice and liked she cared and obviously this is not the case.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 10/12
