We very much enjoyed the large balcony and unobstructed views of the bay at this condo. It was so relaxing to have coffee and meals outside while watching overlooking the bay. Inside the condo is surprizingly large for a 2BR unit and has everything you need to enjoy your time away. The owner is very pleasant and gave us a number of suggestions to do during our stay (rent a golf cart, it's a great way to get around).
Recommended for:Families with teenagers, families with young children.

The weather was great, and we got to enjoy seeing a full orange moon rise over the gulf. Earlier, we had kayaked around in the bay, watching the sun set. The condo was spacious, light, and clean. The view from the terrace was mostly the bay, but off in the distance we could see a strip of gulf water...it was all prettier than we had expected. We followed advice of others and brought all the food we needed, so we lacked nothing. The terrace was a wonderful place to eat and read. It was about a 20-minute walk from the condo under the main road and over to the beach...a nice walk since it was sunny yet cool. We missed clubhouse office hours (5:00) so we didn't get our wristbands for the pool etc. on the first day, then decided there was plenty to do without using the club facilities. The only glitch was not being able to figure out how to get the DVD player to work, but the TV reception was okay. The owner was so flexible and nice to work with. We are looking forward to returning soon.
Recommended for:Girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, families with young children, age 55+.

We stayed June 6th - 9th 2010 and we had a wonderful time. The condo was very clean and comfortable. We had 3 kids staying in the condo ages 10, and twin 2 year olds and they were very much at home. We rented a golf cart and would suggest it for anyone staying at this location. We found it a great and relaxing way to move around the property. Not sure if it is always so quiet and peaceful but it was a very relaxing vacation even with the kids. We did encounter mosquitoes in the parking area and by the elevator once we started using mosquito spray we didn't have any more problems. The Pointe West area is very clean and well kept. The beaches were also very clean and free of trash. It truly was like having a private beach. Thank you to Janet for all your help and making our stay stress free. I suggest Tiki Toys for golf cart rental John was great to deal with. We will be back and hope to make it our yearly vacation spot.

Spring Break Getaway

We spent 2 nights (March 17/18) of Spring Break at this condo and had a great time! The unit was clean and well-equipped. My children (age 1, 4,6) and my parents particularly enjoyed the close proximity to the beach, the elevator, and the view especially at dawn! It was very peaceful.... Please note that there are NO food stores/restaurants other than the Pointe West Beach Club close by. It is 9 miles back towards Galveston to the Seven Seas Convenience Store which has most staples you will need, and the restaurant next door has pretty decent food! We tried to eat at the Beach club on our first day, but after waiting 20 minutes for drinks and over an hour for food that never arrived, we gave up. For Spring Break week, they seemed very understaffed. If travelling with children, you will either need to rent a golf cart or drive your car to get to the beach and the Pointe West amenities as they are across a very busy road. The beach was beautiful - very wide, clean, and great place to fly kites. Galveston was a treat - spent time at the Oil Rig museum, walking The Strand. Rainforest Cafe has a great indoor jungle water ride! The beds were very comfortable, spacious bathrooms, nice big balcony. Carpet had several stains and could probably stand to be replaced, and a few more extra towels would be nice. Owner was very responsive and easy to work with...great communication! Hope to go back when we have a few more days to relax. Thanks for allowing us to stay!
