There are 4 identical bedrooms, each with full bath and its own sliding glass doors that open to a shady 85-ft. veranda. Step down from the veranda to the infinity swimming pool, tropical gardens, a giant expanse of grass leading up to the cliff's edge with unobstructed views of the Mexican Caribbean and the lights of Cancun across the Bay of Mujeres. The main living area with its 30 ft. ceiling and sunken built-in semi-circular sofa is the perfect place for casual gatherings and fun entertaining. The kitchen joins the open living area, separated by a tiled counter that seats 8. Continue through the sliding glass doors to the outdoor dining area on the veranda, an idyllic and elegant site for a candlelit meal, board games, and celebration at the large wooden table. Arrangements can be made for a personal chef to come cook for you, with endless choices ranging from organic to authentic Mexican breakfasts, lunches and dinners. This villa has an almost unending choice of spots in which to relax, whether you are lounging in one of 8 chaises by the pool, curled up with a good book in one of 6 hammocks, sunning yourself on the large rooftop sun bed or enjoying beverages at sunset under the rooftop palapa. Located on the southernmost tip of the island, this villa is tranquil, quiet and private.
Daily cleaning service is easily arranged, as well as transportation service to and from the quaint village and first-rate restaurants at the north end of the island. Exquisitely maintained, this fully-staffed home is the perfect venue for an unforgettable tropical vacation!

Why the Owner Chose Isla Mujeres
After many memorable family trips to Isla Mujeres, we knew the "next step" would be to own a home there. The piece of land upon which the house was built is truly spectacular, overlooking the sparkling turquoise water to the lights of Cancun. The islanders are lovely people, sharing their island paradise with us and offering the kind of friendly hospitality we don't see too often in other places. From the banana trees to the coconut palms just outside our door, the pelicans and frigate birds gliding across the edge of the cliff, the happy chirping sound of little geckos at night on the veranda...this is truly paradise.

Owner's Map of Isla Mujeres
Casa Amarilla is a family-owned vacation home. Two of us are recently retired, two of us own a lobbying firm on the east coast, one of us is a Yoga instructor and full-time mother, and one of us is five years old. We have spent six consecutive Christmases in our island home, and visit during the year whenever possible. We are all SCUBA certified divers, two of us surf and two of us have sailed our boat to Isla from Virginia and back. Casa Amarilla was built 6 years ago and designed to accommodate all of us and our assorted favorite things to do. In addition to sailing, diving, fishing, snorkeling, shelling, swimming and eating in one of 20 or so of our favorite Isla restaurants, sometimes we just stretch out in one of the hammocks with a good book. If the beauty of the sparkling turquoise water in the distance weren't so distracting, we might get through a chapter or two...
