Adorable 1939 Craftsman cottage just 3 blocks from the historic Courthouse Square and Whiskey Row. This wonderful house has 9 foot ceilings, crown moldings, beadboard, original dining room and kitchen pantry built-ins, laundry room and a seasonal "morning room". Granite Creek Cottage has retained its original charm but is improved with modern amenities such as central heat and air conditioning, a very large remodeled bath with tiled shower, nice eat in kitchen with appliances including microwave and coffee maker. The Cottage sits right on Granite Creek which runs seasonally.
Each of the 2 bedrooms has a high quality queen size mattress on a 4 poster bed. (We get many compliments on the comfort of our beds). One bedroom has a lovely carved oak 4 poster and armoire that houses a cable TV. There is also a ceiling fan. The color scheme is soft greens and buttery yellows.
Our 2nd bedroom has a pine 4 poster draped in lace and a tall pine dresser. The colors in here are soft greens and creams. This bedroom also has a ceiling fan, and direct access to the bathroom. There is additional bathroom access from a short hallway off the kitchen.
Our formal dining room in Craftsman style has beadboard wainscott reminiscent of your Grandma's house. The table has seating for 6. There is a charming built in hutch for our delicate "treasures".
The living room is cozy and has a sofa and 2 swivel chairs so all can enjoy the big screen cable TV. Stained glass with a dragonfly design is in the window above the sofa. A ceiling fan also cools the room when the air conditioning is not needed.
There is an abundance of art in the home, some are 1940's vintage western movie posters, others are watercolors or oil paintings.
A patio with a dining table and umbrella next to the seasonal flower garden is a great location for morning coffee, afternoon drinks or enjoying great burgers cooked on the propane grill.

Granite Creek Cottage is in a mixed bag neighborhood as is typical of the oldest areas in Prescott. These are small older homes, businesses, apartments, and small trailer parks next door and across the alley that have been there for decades. The Cottage is built directly on the bank of Granite Creek so the back alley is the only way to get in there. Our neighbors are quiet, many are elderly and retired folks. We appeciate quiet and considerate guests.
** Holidays require a 3 night minimum. Short stays in November, December and July that span Thanksgiving, Christmas, January 1 or 4th of July Holidays have a premium rate of $129 x 3 of the nights, waived for 30 or more nights. If you need a one week stay over Thanksgiving, Christmas, New years or 4th of July is at the rate of $750 plus cleaning and tax. Other holidays at $700 for 1 week.
June 1 - Sept 1 is our high season & have a 1 week minimum. By the month in June and August the rate is $1700, July is $1800 per month, +cleaning and tax. For other rates please see the rate information section.

Why the Owner Chose Prescott
We were looking for vintage charm, as close to the Square as possible and we found it in our adorable Granite Creek Cottage. It was love at first site. My husband and I turned, looked at each other, and knew it was just what we had been searching for. We love staying there and do so as often as we can. Everyone who comes has a big smile on their face when they get their first look inside. The charm of a restored 1939 bungalow captivates our guests.
The Unique Benefits of this House
First, you will be amazed at the charm, warmth and overall amenities at Granite Creek Cottage. The kitchen and bath have been updated, high quality beds (one even has a heated mattress!), good furniture throughout and original art pieces. The dining room has the original built in china and the pantry in our kitchen is original with a potato or flour(?) bin and there are screens in cupboards for cooling other vegetables. We put in a country flower garden for summer and in the Spring our Irises bloom like crazy.
