Mom and three girlfriends joined me for a very welcome getaway at this charming, roomy lake house. What a great bit of releif from our dreary Wisconsin spring! It was tough to drag ourselves out the door, but we found exploring this area soooo rewarding. We were fortunate to stumble upon Echo Charlie's at the local marina, and enjoyed a number of great meals at a reasonable price. Also had the pleasure of spending an interesting afternoon in Cadiz. Coming "home" in the evenings was always a welcome respite. Thoroughly relaxing. We're anxious for another visit, and hope to research the origins of Lake Barkley before we come again. Can't imagine there's a better place to stay than Beth and Jamie's lovely lake house!
Owner response:Thank you, Renee for your kind words. There is alot of exploring to do here. Glad you enjoyed it! Love to have you back!

We all had an amazing time this past weekend at this house on Lake Barkley. There is a beach front for exploration no matter your age, and an inviting and comfortable home to return to for a nice relaxing bath after your adventures. It was so great to have a large home to gather in and celebrate the new year with 9 others, comprised of my family and favorite people! We just brought ourselves and food and everything else was provided! It's truly a vacation away from any hustle and bustle and the interior and exterior space is amazing. This is the place to get a group together and/or to spend family-time together. My only regret is we could only spend 2 nights there. We hope to make it a yearly destination get-a-way!
Owner response:Thanks Mallory for your nice review. We are always happy to hear that our guest have a comfortable, fun and relaxing get away with us. Even in the winter months a bon fire and a cup of hot chocolate or hot toddy can make a brisk winters night a pleasure. Thank you for spending your winter holidays with us!!! Please come back and enjoy the other seasons that Kentucky offers!

This was a dream come true! Pictures don't even show how wonderful this place is! The rooms were beautiful, clean, and decorated so lovely! Beth is an amazing hostess to make sure everything was just perfect! We slept 11 in the house and had 17 over for each meal. The house is more then ample space a lovely stocked kitchen too. If you need time to be alone, there is always an empty room, or on the porch or the wonderful Hammock outside. We will definitely be back and highly recomend this lovely and private spot on the lake! For our first time to rent a home it was an amazing experience! Thank you Beth!

Thank you for sharing your Lake House with us. It was fun to be with our children and grandchildren. Our daughter and family came fromn Marietta GA and one grandson flew in from Chicago to Paducah. We all had a great time. We toured the area and the enjoyed the Water Park and the Grand Rivers area. The facilities were adequate for all of us.

We recently rented this home as it is close to my parents' vacation home, in order to accommodate all of our family members. The house and the view were awesome! The big wrap around porch with rocking chairs was perfect for relaxing at any time of day. The sunsets were beautiful! It has a huge yard and access down to the lake's edge....perfect for exploring. The kids AND adults all had a great time! Thanks to Beth and Jamie who made the rental experience painless. We would definitely stay here again.

Went down for annual family reunion, had a great time. Explored shoreline, collected shells. Mother enjoyed staying in one of her old teachers homes and recalling her childhood and we heard great stories about the old town. House worked great for the 7 of us. Loved the wrap around porch, great for morning coffee watching the sun come up.

Our group of 8 golfers rented this house for four nights. The house worked out great for us; good space along with a wonderful wrap-around deck. Also, close to the golf courses plus close to Grand Rivers that has Patti's restaurant. Can't go wrong with this house.

Our stay at this property was WONDERFUL! Waking up to the beautiful back porch and the lake was a real treat and we also had the pleasant surprise each morning of an eagle flying directly overhead. The home was very well appointed and the beds were very comfortable. We will definitely be back. Thanks for sharing your home with us.

We had a lovely time at this house! It was really beautifully decorated and well kept. Full of character and charm! We rented a boat one day and explored the lakes, along with a visit to the Bison/Elk Park in the Land Between the Lakes. We'll definitely return!

Every year my sister and I and our families go to Kentucky to visit my mom. We have rented many other properties in this area of Kentucky and we found this one to be the best by far! This home is so comfortable and welcoming. The furniture and beds are comfortable and the view of the lake is wonderful. We had a great time and will definitely be renting from Beth again.

Historical house with modern touches and Pottery Barn-cool decorating. We had a great time. We spent days exploring the water-front, collecting shells, skipping rocks, fishing. Other days we explored the water park, rented a pontoon boat, visited Patti's Plantation. Enjoyed campfires every night on the property. Sitting in a rocking chair starring at the lake revived our souls. Kids had a ball as well. Thank you to Beth and Jamie!

Thank you for sharing your lovely home on the lake. Our entire family enjoyed being together in this beautifully decorated, relaxing setting. All amenities were perfect. We enjoyed exploring Land Between the Lakes, the nearby Waterpark, Grand Rivers, and thoroughly enjoyed the Museum just up the road. Thank you again!

Can't say enough good things about this lovely home and location on lake front. Stepped through the door and the whole atmosphere was comfort and relaxation. The grandchildren spent hours exploring the lake edges and watching the wildlife from a safe distance: birds, deer, and friendly racoon. Waterpark nearby and good restaurants. The rockers on the veranda welcomed us when we just needed to chill out. We all (7) had the greatest week and only 3 hour drive to get there...

We chose this property because it was half-way between our home in Virginia and our children in the Chicago area. What a fortuitous choice. Everythying about this home-away-from-home was perfect. Even on the hottest afternoons we enjoyed sittibg on the veranda enjoying the lake breezes. Our granddaughters, ages 5 and 2 1/2 loved watching the boats cruise by. Everyone enjoyed our stay. We'd come back in a heartbeat.

We had a wonderful family vacation in your house. It was a house with character and had great views of the lake! There were eight of us and we all had plenty of room for either privacy or togetherness. We each had ample space at the large dining room table. We enjoyed the tv in the living room and the indoor games on our one rainy day. The restaurants and golf in the area were very good. We hope to make this a return vacation destination!

Russ and I enjoyed the Lake House. We loved being able to sit in the living room and look out at the lake. Unfortunately, we weren't able to fish for the wind and cold but will make plans to go back on vacation this summer. Thank you so much.

We stayed over Labor Day weekend 2008, and had an excellent time. The house is as advertised and sleeps up to 8 people very comfortably with room for more. The view of the lake is magnificent and the back yard provides plenty of space to run around, play games, ect. The owners are wonderful to work with and are available whenever you have a question. We will stay again soon. Thanks for everything!

What a GORGEOUS place! The house is decorated absolutely beautiful, hard to beleive the main house dates back to the 1860's. Everything was so well done, and so up to date. The bedrooms were great, pleanty of room, beautifully decorated, and OH such comfortable beds. The bathroom upstairs is so neat with the old tub and shower, the main bath with the jacuzzi was awesome. The porch with the spectacular view of the lake was truly magnificient. I enjoyed morning coffee, luch, and a night cap, needless to say it was hard to leave. Looking forward to our next visit, truly a refreshing and relaxing weekend.

This vacation home was so peaceful, yet very easy to kick back and have a good time. When we walked in, we were awed at the decor! The kitchen was stocked with great appliances for cooking. The beds were extremely comfortable and the old fashioned tub upstairs provided the best bath I've ever had! Outside is perfect for morning coffee, reading and enjoying the view! We can't wait to go back!
