I rented this with my family from out of town during graduation and it was perfect. The kitchen was well stocked with appliances and utensils and ready for cooking. Everyone loved the house, each room is well-decorated, but feels homey and inviting. The location is perfect as it's within walking distance to downtown, Thorpe Park, the urban trail, and hiking on a nearby mesa. There is plenty of space to sit outside in the front and back, which you definitely want in Flagstaff during nice weather. The grill worked great, as well as a stereo inside for iphones/ipods. The homeowners were very responsive whenever we had questions while staying at the house. I would definitely recommend as a rental in Flagstaff, particularly if you want a nice alternative to hotels in town.Recommended for: Families with young children, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway, adventure seekers, tourists without a car.
Owner response: Thank You Kathleen for your kind words! I am so pleased that your Family enjoyed the Cottage during such an amazing event! Again, Thank You for your stay with us, as it is so greatly appreciated! Cheryl Grant Historic Cottage

My husband, his parents, and our white lab all trucked in from LA to spend Thanksgving in Flagstaff and the Grand Canyon. We were all blown away by the personal touches that Cheryl left for us. There was a pumpkin pie, cute holiday plates and napkins, and the house was decorated for the holiday. So warm and inviting. The house was spotless and provided enough room for 4 adults. I loved all of the special touches that are around the house that made our dog feel very welcomed (multiple dog beds, treats, toys, and food bowls). The location of the Cottage is awesome! Within walking distance (a few blocks) to downtown Flagstaff, 90 minutes from the Grand Canyon, and about 45ish minutes from Sedona. This place is such a gem and close to so much natural beauty.Recommended for: People with disabilities, families with young children, age 55+, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, sightseeing.
Owner response: Thank you Ethel, for your kind words! I am so pleased that you and your Family, including your four legged furry friend had a wonderful stay with us! Much joy and happiness to you this Holiday Season! Cheryl Grant Historic Cottage

My girlfriend and I, along with our friends had a wonderful weekend at the cottage. We were presently surprised at how clean and organized everything was. The personalized attention for our two dogs was perfect, right down to the large and small water/food bowls that were left for us to use. We thoroughly enjoyed sitting on the patio in the backyard and relaxing. We would recommend this cottage to anyone and we plan to be back in the near future.Recommended for: Families with young children, pet owners, romantic getaway, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, sightseeing.

A long time ago, we convinced our human parents to start Dogma Dog Daycare in Tucson, Arizona so we'd have a local place for dogs to enjoy good times. As much as we love Tucson, recently we convinced our parents to escape the summer heat for a few days at the Grant Historic Cottage in Flagstaff! The Cottage was everything a Chihuahua, a Golden Retriever, and a German Shepherd could want. We could walk out the door for a stroll through the lovely neighborhood, to downtown or to a nearby park. We could even walk to the grocery store (we waited outside with Dad and our two-legged brother while Mom shopped). Of course, we also enjoyed playing with the toys provided by Amy, the manager, in the cool grass under the shade of tree in the fenced backyard. Inside the cottage, Amy provided us with dog beds, bowls, and even treats! She also provided information on local vets—just in case—and other resources and activities for us. We felt so welcomed! Our parents were very pleased to be able to stay somewhere so lovely for a vacation where we could all be together! Thank you, Amy. Woof!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 2/2

Grant Cottage is the perfect "home away from home." The cottage was clean, perfectly furnished, and welcoming. All the special attention to detail made our stay a beautiful vacation in the fun town of Flagstaff. We walked, rode bikes, and enjoyed hours of peaceful time relaxing. The Urban Trail was a great find. We enjoyed the Riordan House as it gave a great tour and perspective on the time frame the cottage was built. The backyard offered many opportunities to read, enjoy meals, and visit with friends. Suggestions of activities and restaurants were all great. Our favorite restaurant this trip was Criollo. The cottage was also a beautiful place to enjoy with our dog. We utilized information on the dog park and vet. Thank you for providing this beautiful retreat.Recommended for: Age 55+, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, sightseeing.

The cottage is in an ideal location in downtown Flagstaff, walking distance to everything. The area is very quiet. The cottage was as advertised and spotless with lots of extra little thoughtful luxuries. The backyard was especially nice for dogs. The property manager is very friendly and efficient. A perfect vacation rental. Really.Recommended for: Age 55+, pet owners, romantic getaway, tourists without a car, sightseeing.

The cottage was a wonderful home away from home, and was everything I expected and more. This lovely craftsman style historic cottage is cozy and comfortable. The kitchen and bathroom are updated, with the kitchen being fully equipped for cooking and eating in, so we were able to have most of our meals "at home" and saved a lot on wear and tear on us, not to mention $$$! It's close to everything - just blocks from the original downtown, as well as Route 66 which leads to anywhere you want to go! The beds are comfortable and extra blankets are warm and cozy for those cold Flagstaff nights. The cottage is equipped with new heating and cooling, and a computer that also has wireless for your own electronics. In short, we fully enjoyed having a "home away from home" to stay in. I'll be back...! I will refer this property to friends who may visit the area, too!Recommended for: Families with young children, age 55+, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway, adventure seekers, sightseeing.
