The cottage was a wonderful home away from home, and was everything I expected and more. This lovely craftsman style historic cottage is cozy and comfortable. The kitchen and bathroom are updated, with the kitchen being fully equipped for cooking and eating in, so we were able to have most of our meals "at home" and saved a lot on wear and tear on us, not to mention $$$! It's close to everything - just blocks from the original downtown, as well as Route 66 which leads to anywhere you want to go! The beds are comfortable and extra blankets are warm and cozy for those cold Flagstaff nights. The cottage is equipped with new heating and cooling, and a computer that also has wireless for your own electronics. In short, we fully enjoyed having a "home away from home" to stay in. I'll be back...! I will refer this property to friends who may visit the area, too!

This cottage is centrally located to downtown Flagstaff, has such a homey interior, has views from nearly every window of the mountains, is perfectly clean & well-maintained. We only stayed for a 2-day weekend but we are already planning for a week vacation. Our 2 Labrador loved taking walks around the neighborhood and loved the roomy & grass backyard. We are so looking forward to returning soon!! We highly recommend this cottage to ALL!

We loved our stay at Grant Cottage! The owner of the cottage goes out of her way to make your stay absolutely perfect. The cottage was a delight to stay at. Very cozy and comfortable. Extremely well stocked, lots of wonderful games, and very clean. We very much enjoyed the big beautiful back yard. The cottage owners take special care to ensure that pets of the family have as comfortable of a stay as the humans do! We would highly recommend this cottage and look forward to renting it again in the future.

The Grant Cottage provides a cozy feel with all the amenities and Amy is a wonderful host. The backyard provided a great space for our two dogs and the Cottage's location is well situated to walk to downtown Flagstaff or head out to any of the surrounding attractions from the Grand Canyon to Mormon Lake to the Arizona Snowbowl...we look forward to staying at Grant Cottage again if there's availability after sharing this gem with all our friends.

The dogs (all 3 of them) romped and frolicked! The kids roamed and explored! The Parents relaxed, slept, read, walked eveywhere (with pups, of course) & even checked out a museum! What a wonderful retreat Grant Cottage is... it's a truly outstanding feature is, without a doubt, AMY! Her warmth, efficiency & eye on absolutely every detail dame the adventure perfect.

We just returned from a week spent at Grant Cottage. We have stayed at a number of B&Bs and cottages in the downtown area and can say, without any hesitation, this cottage is beyond special! The owners have managed to blend the historic character of this 1913 cottage with modern applicances and a secluded bacyard you'll find hard to leave. Located just a few blocks from downtown, you've got the best of both worlds: fantastic restaurants and shopping nearby and a virtual quiet cottage to enjoy the rest of the time.

Our stay at Grant Cottage provided the perfect setting for a break from the oppressive Phoenix heat. The backyard is so relaxing and peaceful. Our buddy Cooper absolutely loved the cool grass and sniffing the flowers so rarely found at home. Every possible detail has been considered. Making our stay one of the best we have had. We're already planning our next escape to the Grant. Thank you for everything!

"What a wonderful Labor Day Weekend! It is so nice to take a break from the Phoenix heat. :-) This is such a charming and homey place. Our "girls" just loved all the toys, treats, and playing in the yard. We used the charcoal grill which we haven't done in years. You have done a beautiful job pushing the unique features of this home, and I just love all the historic artifacts scattered throughout. All of the the instructions and labels are a huge help! We Plan to Return." *EACH owner submitted review is transcribed from the Cottage Guestbook.

We loved spending time in a house built before some of the (unneeded) amenities such as walk-in closets and great rooms. Our twins loved the lawn as much as the house, and we spent a lot of family time there. Best-

One word about the cottage and the owner: IMPRESSIVE! Our stay was just fabulous. Amy would do anything for us. From the early check in to having all the dog supplies you could ever imagine for our 4 furry children, the coffee beans that were FABULOUS, the little details in the house as well as all the valuable information as far as dining and things to do-just great !! And it got even better when we left!! Our deposit check was in the mail 2 days after we left! The house and yard were so comfortable for us. The kitchen was great. The pictures actually do not do it justice. The walk to town was perfect and we especially enjoyed the Gorman's (art). All of the history in the home was really cool, too. We would return and recommend ANYONE to stay in this home. It really was wonderful and Amy is a gem.

The description and location of the Grant Cottage completely lived up to our expectations for our 4 night trip to Flagstaff. The house was extremely clean and well stocked with amenities, and the proximity to dining, downtown, and outdoor activities made this rental exactly what we were looking for. We definitely will be returning!

Superlative is the overriding term which I would use to describe this experience. The cottage is in a wonderful location, quiet neighborhood, 5--10 minute walk to downtown, a great deal of aesthetic appeal (the history of the cottage is readily accessible to any visitor, the original floors, windows are beautiful), all amenities available (fully appointed modern kitchen--beautiful!). Everything described in the VRBO site is there--and much more! The amount of information/organization/attention to detail is extraordinary. I give this house the highest recommendation. Thank you, Amy!

The cottage lived up the advance billing in every way! Wonderfully clean and well appointed. Close enough to downtown for an easy walk, but still quiet and relaxing. We felt at home immediately. There was nothing that we or our dog needed that wasn't provided. The backyard is a wonderfully relaxing oasis and the perfect place for nearly every meal. We'll be back in September and can't wait.

My dog and I had a wonderful time staying at the Grant Cottage over 4th of July weekend 2010. The cottage is beautiful and has all the comforts of home, including your favorite type of coffee and doggie bowls and bed for the pooch! You can tell that the cottage is lovingly taken care of and attention to detail has not been spared. The backyard was our favorite place to enjoy the shade and relax. We walked around the neighborhood several times and enjoyed the friendly neighbors and refreshing evening temps (from very hot PHX). The cottage is in the perfect location to explore Flagstaff itself, and many hiking trails and national parks/monuments. I can't wait to go back!

Grant Cottage was ideal in every particular for me throughout my two-week visit to Flagstaff. It has been lovingly and intelligently restored, and its owners clearly possess a meticulous eye for detail, both in terms of comfort and of cleanliness. Coupled with the inherent charm and coziness of the house is its location: it is nestled into a quiet neighborhood, within easy walking distance of a beckoning downtown. If guests can pry themselves away from just enjoying the cottage ambience, they can make day trips to the Grand Canyon, Sedona, Walnut Canyon, Wupatki/Sunset Crater Volcano---the list is endless. The Museum of Northern Arizona is a must-see, I think, and is just a very brief drive from the cottage. In yet another example of Amy's organizational and hostessing skills, guests are provided with a comprehensive packet of materials pertaining to Flagstaff and the surrounding area. I think the cottage is a gem and will look forward to returning at my earliest opportunity!

We had a fantastic time staying for 5 nights at Grant Cottage. The cottage is very comfortable and has all the amenities of home. Amy thought of everything you might need(even doggie bones). We loved the proximity to Walnut Canyon, Sedona, and the Grand Canyon as it was easy to make day trips. It was delightful to walk in the snow from the cottage to downtown historic Flagstaff. (We don't see much of that in Southern California.) We would highly recommend this lovely cottage and hope to make the trip again some day.

Our stay at Grant Cottage was absolutely perfect. The location in the heart of downtown Flagstaff so convenient to all of the activities we wanted to do. The new renovations in the home are beautiful. Most of all we enjoyed how the owner has given so much attention to detail in the home. We had everything we needed and so much more. It felt like we were staying in our own home. I would highly recommend this home for your stay in Flagstaff.

I really enjoyed my stay at Grant Cottage. I have rented a lot of vacation homes and this one was probably the cleanest one I have ever stayed in. Everything worked and every detail seemed to be thought of, from an umbrella by the door, to helpful items for my dogs. The location is very convenient for people who want to spend time enjoying all that downtown Flagstaff has to offer. We will definitely stay at Grant Cottage again the next time we visit Flagstaff.

The Grant Cottage provided the perfect place for my family to stay while visiting over NAU's graduation weekend. The house is beautiful, clean, and very close to downtown. In addition, it provided an ideal setting in which to hold large family gatherings and meals--the backyard, well-stocked kitchen, and perfect weather were all we needed. Thanks again, Megan

We had such a great time at the cottage! We enjoyed all of the thoughtful touches (like fresh ground coffee) and the attention to detail. We had fun walking to downtown for a latte and window shopping. We enjoyed quiet drives in the mountains. We played games at the table in the evening and snuggled down in the comfy beds for nightly book reading. Our preschooler even found enough snow in the back yard for sledding. We had such a great time we started talking about our next trip before we even left.

The Grant Cottage was a marvelous solution for our ski stay in Flagstaff over the recent holidays. The beautifully renovated kitchen hosted our family meals, the living area was the site of late night games,(provided with the cottage!), and we slept wonderfully because all of the beds were extremely comfortable. We skied Snowball and did two days of Alpine as well...spectacular! Apres ski was so much fun too. We would gather at the cottage, (we have family who live around the corner and raved at our lucky accomodation find), and then we'd walk downtown to Altitudes, the Pay and Take, or any of the other happening spots. New Year's Eve was memorable, the pine cone drop, and the throngs of people rockin' out to good live music made for a great time. We would definitely return to Flagstaff and we will stay at the Grant Cottage when we do... we'd now like to see it in Summer! Thanks so much for hosting us in your beautiful home. Sincerely, Jeff and Mary Withey

Stayed in the Grant Cottage was great! Very cozy! Your hosts have done a great job remodeling with fine attention to detail and craftmanship. The kitchen is great for cooking. The Yard is great for sitting outdoors (weather permitting) and enjoying the mountain air. Location is ideal as you are close to great restaurants, downtown shopping without having to drive. This is a great find and ideal for a retreat to Northern Arizona. Will definately return in the future!

What a beautiful cozy cottage! Extreme attention to detail in renovating this home is evident throughout, from the ceiling medalions accenting the woodwork in the kitchen as well as lighting fixtures elsewhere, to the up-to-date kitchen, wood floors, woodwork, door and cabinet latches, knobs and pulls, and bathroom niceties (crescent shower rod and fabric curtain a nice touch). Even the matte brown electrical switch and socket plates have all screw slots positioned vertically (that is perfectionism!) Truly a marvelous stay, especially for those who cherish painstaking efforts to marry modern conveniences with the grace and craftsmanship of yesteryear. Do NOT pass up this gem. Being able to walk a few blocks to soak up the amenities of Flagstaff and its galleries, shops and yummy restaurants is a huge advantage over outlying areas claiming to be "in" Flagstaff. We plan to return, not just to beat the heat, but to immerse ourselves in "cozy cottagedom." Plan on at least three days to truly enjoy this place and its surroundings. A week would be even better!
