I am a photographer and my wife is a middle school teacher. We enjoy sharing the natural beauty of the Nokomis/Sarasota area with our guests. We purchased the property as our home in 2000. Soon thereafter we purchased another home a mile away which is where we live today. We were attracted to the area because of its pristine beaches and lack of high rises, pay parking, t-shirt shops, etc. We take advantage of the numerous recreational opportunities here including biking, swimming, scuba diving and nature watching.

My friends and I came to Florida for a wedding, and staying at the Nelson's house was cheaper than staying in a hotel for a week. The house was clean, and perfect for what we needed for the week. The house was within walking distance to the beach, which was great for our vacation. We would gladly stay here again!

My daughters and I stayed here in June of 2011. It was wonderful! Clean and well maintained. Very close to the beach, and having the bikes available for our use made it seem even closer. Once we arrived we never NEEDED to use our car, as we walked/biked everywhere. A grocery store is close enough to grab a few things and put them in the bike's basket. There is a lovely bike trail nearby that we used often. The owners provided everything we needed from beach towels, gas grill, corkscrews, laundry detergent... Before sending the rental agreement, Greg went out of his way to make sure we understood the property details, pointing out that the duplex wasn't ON the beach, etc. Thanks to his great descriptions there were NO surprises - the property was exactly as I expected, if not better. I'm definitely interested in staying there again and I will recommend this property to friends and family. Thank you very much.

This is a lovely property. It truly has everything a vacationer could ask for when looking for getaway. The home itself is equipped with everything and the kitchen sink! We picked up a bottle of wine and the clerk asked if we needed a corkscrew after a brief discussion we decided to take a chance on the place having one. The clerk smiled at us and said, "They all say that and they all come back". He laughed and said he would see us in a few. When got back there were two in the drawer (thanks Greg). The house is in a real (not commercial or vacation) neighborhood very close to the beach, convenience store, grocery store and restaurants. It is clean, peaceful and has a comfortable feel. The area is beautiful and the water at Nokomis Beach is clear and inviting. It is an easy bike ride from the house. Although it is so close some days you may want to take the car to pack the beach chairs and sand toys, also provided, to stake a spot on the beach, but there is a sandwich shop right on there premises so no need to pack a lunch. Navigating the area is easy and there is so much to see and do; the drumming circle on Saturday nights on the beach, Sanibel Island is a day trip away, Venice pier and Sharky's, and fresh orange ice-cream at an orchard, sunbathing and shell seeking just to name a few. There is something for everyone. The owners of this property have thought of practically everything from beach chairs to sand toys but if they have missed something or if you have (again thanks Greg) they are a phone call away. We will definitely be back again and again!

My husband and I have been visiting Nokomis for many years. Seahorse Shores is the perfect accommodations for us to get away from home (Illinois). The duplex is always clean and it's the next best thing to having your own vacation home. The owners are fantastic! It's centrally located and the beach is beautiful. I highly recommend that you visit Nokomis soon!

I could write a book about how enjoyable our time was!. Came for my daughters wedding, and it was fantastic!.Went to Nokomis Beach and picked up some of the prettiest shells I've ever seen, made friends with a seagull that followed me everywhere. I brought along my 70 year old mother, and she loved the whole experience and could not get over the fact that we didn't have to stay in a hotel. We had the freedom to do what we wanted, when we wanted!...Everything was within easy access (my daughter lived across the road and two blocks down~how cool is that?! Spent a lot of quality time with her and rather than driving back and forth from one of the hotels in Sarasota! The wi-fi was wonderful (and FAST)!...THE neighborhood was very quiet and peaceful. We walked to the beach almost every day! Greg was a phone call away and easy to get a hold of,as we arrived earlier than expected, but everything was ready for us. I will definitely stay there if Greg and Deanne will have us again. (there will be grandchildren to visit in the future,I hope). The house looks EXACTLY like the pictures and I fell in love with the seahorse door knobs! Everything was spotless and we shopped at Publix and all the little specialty shops and cooking our own food (saved a few dollars too!)... I have told EVERYONE I know about our experience at Seahorse Shores,,,and DEFINITELY will return! I would recommed this to anyone, older people, younger people, families, honeymooners, best friends and everyone else.! I told you I'd write a book!

This property was very convenient for me. Within 10 minutes of my mother's house, close to stores and just a few minutes walk to the beach at Casey key. I would recommend this property. I also recommend Pelican Alley and Sunset Grill (Pops) which are within walking distance.
Owner response:Thanks! We moved here for the great location and this was our first house here. Now we live just a mile away and we love walking the beach and swimming and enjoying the outdoor lifestyle here.

We had a great time at Nokomis house. It was easy access to the beach and was convenient to anywhere we wanted to go. The area where the house is was very quiet, which was nice. The house itself had everything that we wanted! Anything that you would need in the kitchen was there. There was a nice living area as well. The internet access was a nice touch, as were the bikes. Thanks!
Owner response:Thanks Abby, we are glad you enjoyed your visit. Greg

The location was perfect! Everything is nearby, groceries, restaurants, beach, quaint shopping. The villa is a nice size, we really had room to spread out, a nice overall set up. We love the Nokomis/Venice/Sarasota area and will definitely be back for a visit! Thank you for sharing your vacation rental with us!

We stayed at the Seahorse Shores for a week and were very pleased with the townhouse. The townhouse was very clean and had everything that we needed plus some. We loved having the bikes to ride to the beach that was only a 1/4 of a mike away. There was a Heron that seemed very tame that came everyday and loved to eat the leftovers from our meals. If you stay at Seahorse Shores please remember to feed him, we named him George! The only thing that I could have asked for to make it better is if the landscaping and the yard were kept up better. We were planning on having people over for a cook out but didn't because of the yard.
Owner response:Thanks Chris! We are glad you enjoyed the premises and we do appreciate your input. Sometimes it's hard to keep the yard up to the proper standard during the off season when everything is growing like crazy. It's hard to have professional landscaping every week especially if there is nobody there that week, although we do at minimum mow the main yard areas right before guests arrive. But if someone were to tell us beforehand that they wanted to have a cook out in the yard we would certainly make sure everything was trimmed and edged as well. We are also looking at ways to improve the outdoor entertaining spaces.
