I search for days looking for the right place to stay during out family vacation in Florida. I didn't have a specific location in mind I just knew I wanted to be on the Gulf Coast and in warm weather. After searching many rental sites I came across this home in Nokomis, FL. I contacted the owner and found that he was very friendly and offered very reasonable price. The reservation process was easy and safe as Greg allowed the use of Paypal. Greg was very friendly and a great deal of help. Never having rented a vacation home I didn't know what to expect. We arrived Sunday around 5PM and opened the door. The home was really more than I expected. It wasn't a new home by any means but it was very clean and had everything we needed: towels/washer&dryer/fully stocked kitchen/tv/living room, dining room... The carport was an awesome addition...There was a huge gas grill for us to use. In the garage there were bikes (some need a little work), beach chairs and other beach items we could use. The best thing of all...we were a 10 min walk from the beach. Just walk to the end of the street and hang a right...go over the inter-coastal bridge and there is beautiful Nokomis beach. Free parking...(if you drive), clean bathrooms, life guards, and on Wednesday and Friday just before sunset you get to see many drummers of all kinds come play all types of drums and people dance and watch the sunset...This was a very awesome added bonus. The location is a short drive to either Sarasota, Fort Myers Beach and Sanibel Island...all of which we visited. You are also walking distance from Ice Cream, Deli's, Publix supermarket, CVS and more. The KC Key Food store makes great sandwiches and is a short walk from the beach/rental home. If you are planning a trip to Florida...this is a great place to go. Rent from Greg and you won't regret it... Oh yeah almost forgot...The famed "George" the heron that comes around did visit us several times. He comes right up to you and wants a handout. He really loves hot dogs :) ... Thanks Greg...Look forward to seeing you again someday.... Ray P.S. we were even able to bring along our little "Maggie" .. our little Shi Tzu dog... She loved it too...
Owner response:Thanks Ray! We really appreciate the unsolicited review. You sum up everything that is great about the area and why we moved here in the first place. We lived in the property when we first moved here, now we live a mile away. It is a great location near a great unspoiled beach and we are glad you enjoyed it here!

My daughters and I stayed here in June of 2011. It was wonderful! Clean and well maintained. Very close to the beach, and having the bikes available for our use made it seem even closer. Once we arrived we never NEEDED to use our car, as we walked/biked everywhere. A grocery store is close enough to grab a few things and put them in the bike's basket. There is a lovely bike trail nearby that we used often. The owners provided everything we needed from beach towels, gas grill, corkscrews, laundry detergent... Before sending the rental agreement, Greg went out of his way to make sure we understood the property details, pointing out that the duplex wasn't ON the beach, etc. Thanks to his great descriptions there were NO surprises - the property was exactly as I expected, if not better. I'm definitely interested in staying there again and I will recommend this property to friends and family. Thank you very much.

This is a lovely property. It truly has everything a vacationer could ask for when looking for getaway. The home itself is equipped with everything and the kitchen sink! We picked up a bottle of wine and the clerk asked if we needed a corkscrew after a brief discussion we decided to take a chance on the place having one. The clerk smiled at us and said, "They all say that and they all come back". He laughed and said he would see us in a few. When got back there were two in the drawer (thanks Greg). The house is in a real (not commercial or vacation) neighborhood very close to the beach, convenience store, grocery store and restaurants. It is clean, peaceful and has a comfortable feel. The area is beautiful and the water at Nokomis Beach is clear and inviting. It is an easy bike ride from the house. Although it is so close some days you may want to take the car to pack the beach chairs and sand toys, also provided, to stake a spot on the beach, but there is a sandwich shop right on there premises so no need to pack a lunch. Navigating the area is easy and there is so much to see and do; the drumming circle on Saturday nights on the beach, Sanibel Island is a day trip away, Venice pier and Sharky's, and fresh orange ice-cream at an orchard, sunbathing and shell seeking just to name a few. There is something for everyone. The owners of this property have thought of practically everything from beach chairs to sand toys but if they have missed something or if you have (again thanks Greg) they are a phone call away. We will definitely be back again and again!

Seahorse Shores is the perfect getaway. The duplex is always clean and feels like home. We love walking and biking to the beach and the places to eat are close by and wonderful! It is also centrally located so we can visit all of our favorite spots. The owners of Seahorse Shores are wonderful. You get the personal touch with each visit. My husband and I highly recommend Seahorse Shores!

My husband and I have been visiting Nokomis for many years. Seahorse Shores is the perfect accommodations for us to get away from home (Illinois). The duplex is always clean and it's the next best thing to having your own vacation home. The owners are fantastic! It's centrally located and the beach is beautiful. I highly recommend that you visit Nokomis soon!

I could write a book about how enjoyable our time was!. Came for my daughters wedding, and it was fantastic!.Went to Nokomis Beach and picked up some of the prettiest shells I've ever seen, made friends with a seagull that followed me everywhere. I brought along my 70 year old mother, and she loved the whole experience and could not get over the fact that we didn't have to stay in a hotel. We had the freedom to do what we wanted, when we wanted!...Everything was within easy access (my daughter lived across the road and two blocks down~how cool is that?! Spent a lot of quality time with her and rather than driving back and forth from one of the hotels in Sarasota! The wi-fi was wonderful (and FAST)!...THE neighborhood was very quiet and peaceful. We walked to the beach almost every day! Greg was a phone call away and easy to get a hold of,as we arrived earlier than expected, but everything was ready for us. I will definitely stay there if Greg and Deanne will have us again. (there will be grandchildren to visit in the future,I hope). The house looks EXACTLY like the pictures and I fell in love with the seahorse door knobs! Everything was spotless and we shopped at Publix and all the little specialty shops and cooking our own food (saved a few dollars too!)... I have told EVERYONE I know about our experience at Seahorse Shores,,,and DEFINITELY will return! I would recommed this to anyone, older people, younger people, families, honeymooners, best friends and everyone else.! I told you I'd write a book!

This property was very convenient for me. Within 10 minutes of my mother's house, close to stores and just a few minutes walk to the beach at Casey key. I would recommend this property. I also recommend Pelican Alley and Sunset Grill (Pops) which are within walking distance.
Owner response:Thanks! We moved here for the great location and this was our first house here. Now we live just a mile away and we love walking the beach and swimming and enjoying the outdoor lifestyle here.

The location was perfect! Everything is nearby, groceries, restaurants, beach, quaint shopping. The villa is a nice size, we really had room to spread out, a nice overall set up. We love the Nokomis/Venice/Sarasota area and will definitely be back for a visit! Thank you for sharing your vacation rental with us!
Owner response:Thanks very much for your kind words. We love sharing the beauty of the area with our guests!

We had a great time at Nokomis house. It was easy access to the beach and was convenient to anywhere we wanted to go. The area where the house is was very quiet, which was nice. The house itself had everything that we wanted! Anything that you would need in the kitchen was there. There was a nice living area as well. The internet access was a nice touch, as were the bikes. Thanks!
Owner response:Thanks Abby, we are glad you enjoyed your visit. Greg

We stayed at the Seahorse Shores for a week and were very pleased with the townhouse. The townhouse was very clean and had everything that we needed plus some. We loved having the bikes to ride to the beach that was only a 1/4 of a mike away. There was a Heron that seemed very tame that came everyday and loved to eat the leftovers from our meals. If you stay at Seahorse Shores please remember to feed him, we named him George! The only thing that I could have asked for to make it better is if the landscaping and the yard were kept up better. We were planning on having people over for a cook out but didn't because of the yard.
Owner response:Thanks Chris! We are glad you enjoyed the premises and we do appreciate your input. Sometimes it's hard to keep the yard up to the proper standard during the off season when everything is growing like crazy. It's hard to have professional landscaping every week especially if there is nobody there that week, although we do at minimum mow the main yard areas right before guests arrive. But if someone were to tell us beforehand that they wanted to have a cook out in the yard we would certainly make sure everything was trimmed and edged as well. We are also looking at ways to improve the outdoor entertaining spaces.

We have been here for the 4th time to spend 3 weeks of a wonderful vacation thanks to Greg and Deanne who provided everything you need if you want feel kind of being home. Well maintained, clean house, fully equipped, lovely decorated- we love the seahorses.-)for us the best thing is that Casey key is only a half mile away. We did enjoy the numerous bikerides we made and as always: We love the beauty of all the keys north and south of Nokomis too. But our mostloved beach is the public beach on Casey Key. This rental is also a good point to start from if interested in numerous places for sightseeing,(Tampa, St. Pete, Fort Myers, Sarasota) watching sealife,(Sarasota- Mote-Aquarium) spend time in the stateparks (Myakka-River-Statepark).

My friends and I came to Florida for a wedding, and staying at the Nelson's house was cheaper than staying in a hotel for a week. The house was clean, and perfect for what we needed for the week. The house was within walking distance to the beach, which was great for our vacation. We would gladly stay here again!

For the past 3 summers my family and I have stayed at Seahorse Shores. We love it there! It is a short walk or bike ride to the beach. The house comfortably sleeps 5 people. It is very clean, quite, and comfortable. There is a grill which makes life so much easier after spending all day at beautiful Nokomis Beach. There are beach chairs and sand toys at the house for the kids. Best of all you are a short walk to the ice cream shop and just minutes from town and other great places to explore like the state parks. I would highly recommend this anyone looking to visit Nokomis or Casy Key. You may even get a glimpse of a loggerhead sea turtle nesting at night!

My husband, our 2 Chocolate Labradors and myself have very much enjoyed our 3 stays at Seahorse Shores. The unit is very comfortable and very convenient to so many things. We can walk to the beach, walk to two very nice waterfront restaurants, or just take a walk. The yard is great for our dogs. The owners are very friendly, the unit is very clean and we have had no problems with our stays. We are planning on returning for the 4th time next year.
