We left our thanks in the guestbook but others that may be planning a visit to Mendicino will certainly want to consider staying at the Marigold cottage. We've been coming to the area for over 20 yrs, staying at various places, but this is truly perfect. The location to the Headlands and town can' t be beat. The size and amenties are as perfect as the location. We stayed 3 days and wish we could have stayed three more. We treated ourselves to a 30th anniversary vacation that included this stay in Mendicino and the cottage just put the polishing edge on a very nice time. Our thanks! We can highly recommend this to anyone wishing to experience the Mendicino area. We're already planning a late spring/early summer return that will include staying at the Marigold. Nice thing - no surpises.. The photos and Lisa's description were point-on. The market has a great wine/craft beer slection. An early evening glass of wine at the Mendcino Hotel with that view is something to try. Local cafes' and coffee shops offer a nice local selection of items and coffee. Interesting to hear local conversation at these venues. Good food and craft brew at the Northcoast Brew Pub in Ft Bragg. Pretty much something for even the most discerning taste, desire and attitude!
Owner response:Dear Dan and Deb, We're so happy that you enjoyed your stay in Marigold Cottage and the Mendocino experience. We know there are many options in Mendocino from which to choose and we appreciate that you selected ours as part of your 30th anniversary celebration. Congratulations! Sincerely, Lisa

Marigold Cottage was the perfect choice for my two-month stay in Mendocino. It is bright, airy and equipped with everything I needed to be comfortable during a longer visit. The gas stove adds to the cozy atmosphere and takes the chill off a cooler day. I especially enjoyed the beautiful gardens. The cottage is convenient to everything, directly across the street from the Mendocino Art Center and a couple blocks to shopping, restaurants, coffee shops, Frankie's ice cream, and the ocean cliff trails in Headlands State Park. I also enjoyed the nature hikes along Big River. Thank you for sharing Marigold Cottage with me.

kudos to Lisa for her accommodating nature in allowing us to spend a long weekend in April @ Marigold. The accommodations were as described, clean and quiet. A lovely setting in a charming village along an incredible coastlne. We dined at the finest restaurants (McCallum House, Cafe Beaujolais, The Moose Cafe) sampled the local art scene and toured the area all the while wondering why we hadn't spent more time in the area over the past years. Had a chance to explore DT Ft. Bragg while here and got out to Pt. Cabrillo. Plenty of hiking opportunities that we want to return and explore. A very nice experience and we would definitely return!
Owner response:It is nice to hear that you really "got" the Mendo experience. Mendocino is truly food for the soul.
Recommended for:Romantic getaway, tourists without a car, sightseeing, age 55+.
