Our apartment is a beautiful & calm oasis in a busy & exciting City. The living room/dining room has floor-to-ceiling windows looking out on a wrap-around balcony which faces south & west. The apartment is filled with books, music, photos, & items we have collected from our travels, but it isn't cluttered or crowded. The apartment is light and airy and it gets sun all day. Our kitchen is small but has a window and a washer/dryer (These are a big deal in NYC!). Our bedroom has a very comfortable king-size bed.
Our building is a full-service luxury condominium, with a Staff of 20 and a health club with a pool, Jacuzzi, & racquetball court. The staff is friendly and helpful.
The apartment is at the South end of Manhattan's Upper West Side, in an area known as Lincoln Square (because Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts is right in the area.) Here you can see opera, ballet, theater, classical music, jazz, & film festivals. We are 3 blocks away from Central Park -- you can be there in 5 minutes. We are within walking distance of the Theater District (Broadway) & good shopping (such as Fifth and Madison Avenues). Within a couple of blocks are several different subway (Metro) lines; these trains will take you almost anywhere in the City.
There are dozens of restaurants in our neighborhood, (with every different kind of food), many small grocery stores, and 3 large supermarkets. Within 6 blocks, there are 4 movie theaters showing new Hollywood releases, foreign films, & special film festivals. It is also easy to get to many museums from our apt --one large one is in the Upper West Side, and many others are right across Central Park. What else is there to say -- we're in the middle of everything!
(PLEASE NOTE: we live in this apartment and rent only when on vacation, so we do not have year-round availability. We have a 6-night minimum, and the apt is not suitable for children.)
