Hunting Hawk Lodge is a custom built structure reminiscent of the homes the settlers built in the Cades Cove area of the Smokey Mountians National Park. The Lodge is all wood, giving comfort and security to all who visit.

There is one private bedroom with a queen bed and a loft with a queen. With a queen futon in the livingroom the Lodge is a cozy cave for six. There is one bath with a clawfoot tub/shower. There is a telephone for local calls, fully equipped kitchen, hot tub, internet, outdoor grill, and yes, if you must ... satellite television with dvd player. Our home has all the flavor of a rustic Appalachian shelter with the added creature comforts our ancestors wanted.

Our land boarders Pisgah National Forest and the North Fork of the French Broad River. The North Fork fishing is truly outstanding. Also we have two stocked ponds if you are just too lazy to walk the extra hundred yards to the river.

    • Pisgah Astronomical Research Institute (PARI) is less than five miles from the Lodge. It is worth the trip simply to visit this facility. Formally the Rosman Satellite Tracking Station, PARI is a not-for -profit foundation which boasts the best radio and optical telescopes east of the Mississippi open to the public. My son will be joining the Army April 11, he and I wanted to take one last fishing and hiking trip to somewhere we have never been. The search to find a suitable cabin for our venture was exhaustive and difficult (wanted it to be a great experience for the both of us). I can honestly say this was the perfect cabin for our vacation. Brent has every detail mastered from the hot tub, the fire pit, the fully stocked kitchen to provide a 'true' log cabin experience. We live in Charleston, SC and couldn't think of a better way to spend the week than hiking the mountains and fishing the rivers (and ponds). Thanks for your hospitality Brent...we will definately be back!!

Beautiful! The mornings were cool in the 70s and every afternoon brought a thunderstorm. We ventured out a little to sliding rock, Looking Glass Falls and the country back roads but we mostly spent time at the cabin exploring this property.We even caught a fish in the pond! Every morning we enjoyed coffee on the porch in rocking chairs and our evenings in the hot tub. Its so nice to get away from reality for a while. We cooked every meal here. The kitchen is very well stocked. Thanks Brent. This has been such a wonderful experience for Mafus and I, so much that we are considering canceling our honeymoon in Jamaica and coming here instead! Thanks again.

Mostly sunny. Rained one evening. Rock climbed Looking Glass Mountain and mountian biked in Pisgah Forest. Did some fly fishing at the river. Caught one trout. It was huge. Ate at Jordan Street Cafe in Brevard. Excellent food!! The cabin is warm and cozy. Love the Privacy. Thanks Brent

Sunny mostly, nice and cool. Raining on the 11th. Visit with son, daughter in law and four grandchildren. Caught some nice trout, ate at Big Mike's Pizza (Brevard). Went bowling with grandchildren. Thanks for everything. Chris and Michelle

Hiking to waterfalls, going to the river, building campfires, grilling on back porcha and enjoying the hot tub. We also loved cooking breakfast at the cabin and sitting on the front porch. Moore cove and Sunny cove waterfalls are really nice! Mostly ate at cabin, ate pizza one night from Pizza Hut in Brevard. We love the cabin, hate to leave. Nice change from the muggy weather on Bayou Grauche, LA. Hope to come back one day!

Snowing! We loved everything, from not being able to make it up the driveway in the snow to thawing out in the hot tub. Everything was clean and ready. Brent is very helpful, on top ot it . We had fun driving around in downtown Brevard and saw Looking Glass Waterfall. We mostly cooked here but had a great burger at The Clock (in Brevard). The cast iron waffle maker (in the Lodge) was awesome! We will definitely have to make this an annual tradition. We were very relaxed and secluded from "the real world".
