  • We had such a nice time at Rio de Looney. The house is very comfortable and equally as charming. The country side is beautiful...the people friendly...lots of hummingbirds when we were there. We would love to visit again and stay longer! Thank you.

  • We had a great time at Rio de Looney. Loved your place, the river, Llano, Fredericksburg, Enchanted Rock, Inks Lake...we made the rounds and had fun all over. Was especially nice returning to the cabin at the end of each day. It had everything a person might need. Wonderful bathrooms complete with skylights in each. Updated flat screen tvs. iPod docking station to play your favorite tunes. Festive outside lights give that fun retreat feel. Secluded outdoor shower. And it was all so well thought out. From the floorplan to the materials used to the landscape that attracts birds and butterflies. We've been inspired to come home and get started with some bird feeders and native plants. So we thank you guys very much for sharing your home. It is truly a special place.

  • Our family stayed at this cabin three nights in mid June, 2009. We were all impressed. The beds were great, satellite TV’s, well equipped kitchen, plenty of seating both indoors and out, great showers, everything you need is here. There’s also plenty to do, from watching the numerous species of birds at the feeders, roaming over the rocks, fishing and swimming in the river, gazing up at the dark, star filled skies at night, beautiful views in the day, we truly enjoyed our stay here.   • It was WONDERFUL--no disappointment whatsoever. The setting was so peaceful and restful and the accommodations were exactly as described (if anything, understated!) The river view--WOW--and short walk to the water, where additional comfy chairs awaited. We were a little early, and they were experiencing a dry spell there, but has since rained. We know the wildflowers and things greening up would make it even more of a dreamland! Outdoor facilities and patio great, and the huge screened in porch fantastic. You will never have seen so many birds, numerous and many varities. So peaceful and quiet--and fantastic views--surely great in any season. We plan to return and would highly recommend it to anyone!

  • The pictures do not begin to show how wonderful this secluded retreat is. The house is very up to date, clean and wow what comfortable beds. We intended to stay 2 nights to escape Hurricane Ike and stayed 5. I could have stayed longer and intend to return. It was so peaceful, we enjoyed fishing on the river, many rocks to walk on the Llano River. I would recommend to anyone, it is a great place for a romantic couple getaway or for a family with kids that love to explore.

  • All the comforts of home in a peaceful, beautiful setting far from the stresses of home! Everything we needed was at our fingertips. A good book by the river is instant bliss. Plenty of land for strolls among wildflowers and the stretch of river is incredibly beautiful. Highly recommend this retreat.

  • I have stayed at this wonderful retreat several times and I tell you, it is probably my favorite! The river is so beautiful along this stretch, it looks like it is flowing through undulating granite. We had a blast climbing over the giant rocks and the many flowing water breaks, you have to see it to believe it. The house itself is very roomy, clean and comfortable, with a great outside screened-in porch. The wildflowers in the springtime are magnificent! I would happily recommend this little getaway to anyone. Cheers!

  • This is one of the most comfortable, relaxing, fun getaway homes we have ever rented. Every detail has been carefully thought out in order to make your stay as effortless and memorable as possible. We definitely plan on staying there again.
