I reserved this for my best friend's birthday, and she put it best. If she could custom order a house to stay in, this would meet every request. The river was beautiful, the proximity of the river was ideal, the swing by the river, the screened in porch, the coziness, yet openness of the house, the style of the house, etc., etc. It was absolutely a wonderfully charming surprise. I agreed with everything she said! And, for me, dealing with the owners was very pleasant - an added bonus! We will definitely be back.

Our second trip back in the last year and we just can not say enough about this place. The beds are amazing, the screened in porch is wonderful, and the river (although low right now because of Texas drought) is perfect for many different reasons. We love the quiet and peacefulness that this property provides. The extras are great too...ping pong table, wonderful kitchen, stars at night from the chairs outside that lean back for perfect viewing, swing down by the river, views for pictures and much more. We highly suggest spending a Saturday night at the Castell General Store for local interaction, and a drive into Llano for a trip to Llaneaux Seafood House for the fried Crawfish Tails. You won't be sorry! Thank you to the Looney's. We hope to be back over and over and over....

Rio de Looney is a delight! From the minute you drive in, you know you have arrived in a very special place. The photos were accurate and the amenities were perfect. The only thing missing in the well appointed kitchen was a working can opener. The beds were dreamy and the night sky....magic! The fireplace in the house as well as the outdoor fire pit were put to good use for our Christmas visit. Nearby activities are many and would highly recommend Enchanted Rock. House cleaning could be improved (dusty). Would recommend this property to family and friends in a minute!

The information and pics are perfect in describing Rio de Looney. We so enjoyed our stay and want to go back. Everything you need is there including all paper goods. I loved the feel of the place, just felt at home. Loved the screened in porch. The owner was very helpful and easy to contact with questions. I would highly recommend this place.

We stayed ar Rio de Looney twice, and will return more hopefully more frequent visits. Our last stay, 7-23-10 to 8-1-10, was simply the best. The river was perfect, as was the house and property. We actually went several days and never left the property. The wild animals are amazing with numerous deer and birds. The lighting bugs were very cute to watch The house itself defys accurate description, with much time spent on the screened front porch. At night, the stars are unbeliveable. We saw too many shooting stars to count. CANNOT WAIT for the next visit.

we needed for a relaxing stay was at this wonderful location. The house was a delight, and contained MUCH more than just the basics to either cook, play or take much needed naps during the heat of the afternoon. The kitchen was beautifully equipped, and we all enjoyed cooking great meals for the family. At night, our three grown children joined us to view the Milky Way as we had never seen it. Kayaking, fishing and swimming were enjoyed by all, as were the hummingbirds, deer and rabbits that surrounded this little "Eden". A beautiful location, great accomodations, and a feeling of hominess will bring us back.

Me and my family had such a wonderful time here. We were lucky enough to stay for a week. The river was so beautiful and so much fun. My 3 year old couldn't stop smiling. We enjoyed the deer, bunnies, birds and lizards. I got some wonderful photos of all the humming birds. The property itself, is just so gorgeous and the short walk down to the river was so pretty. We were also very comfortable in the home. We can't wait to go back. We may have to get another family to join us or we may just keep it all to ourselves. Either way, we will be back. Its the perfect distance from our own home, I would go every weekend if I could.

We had such a nice time at Rio de Looney. The house is very comfortable and equally as charming. The country side is beautiful...the people friendly...lots of hummingbirds when we were there. We would love to visit again and stay longer! Thank you.

We had a great time at Rio de Looney. Loved your place, the river, Llano, Fredericksburg, Enchanted Rock, Inks Lake...we made the rounds and had fun all over. Was especially nice returning to the cabin at the end of each day. It had everything a person might need. Wonderful bathrooms complete with skylights in each. Updated flat screen tvs. iPod docking station to play your favorite tunes. Festive outside lights give that fun retreat feel. Secluded outdoor shower. And it was all so well thought out. From the floorplan to the materials used to the landscape that attracts birds and butterflies. We've been inspired to come home and get started with some bird feeders and native plants. So we thank you guys very much for sharing your home. It is truly a special place.
