Completely Renovated 2012 – complete with sunset view deck and tiki bar at the pool! Unlike many of the homes on North Captiva Island, a stay at The Conch House will truly let you experience the real beach retreat you have been looking for, without having to leave the first-class amenities of your home.
Once you arrive at The Conch House, the first thing you’ll notice is the spectacular downstairs pool area. Not only is there an oversized pool for everyone’s enjoyment, but there is also an island tiki bar– complete with 4-person bar seating, beverage refrigerator, ice maker and a 42” HD TV. Where else can you watch the big game while you and the kids go swimming in the pool?! Loungers, Adirondack chairs and a dining table line the pool deck where there is a seat for everyone - in both the sun and shade. The pool has the much desired western exposure allowing for this amazing entertainment area to be enjoyed throughout the whole day into evening!
As you walk up the screened stairs to the second level of the home, you will notice an outdoor dining area complete with seating for 8. Enjoy protected outdoor dining while listening to the sounds of surf! A propane grill is located on the same level, so you won’t have to run up and downstairs to check on dinner. Upon entering into our home, you will notice this level is the main living area. The open floor plan allows the living room and kitchen to flow together – great for cooking and entertaining at the same time! GE Profile appliances, granite countertops, a 47” TV with Direct TVHD (including ALL of the premium channels) and a high-end iPod stereo make this area stand out! Adjacent to the living area are two nicely appointed bedrooms that share a full bath. Another half bath with washer and dryer is also located close by.
A walk up the stairs to the third floor leads you into the Master Suite. Island themed with beautiful wood floors and plantation shutters, it features a luxurious king size double pillow top bed, and includes a 47” LCD Flat Screen with DVD and Satellite. A double sink and double shower complete the Master Bathroom. Head outside via disappearing glass sliders to the covered Master deck – very private, this is the perfect place to enjoy your morning coffee and views of the Gulf.
Last, but certainly not least, is the 4th floor View Deck. Just added onto the house in 2012, this boasts spectacular views of the Gulf all the way around the island to the Bay. Take in gorgeous sunsets and celebrate the end of a perfect North Captiva day atop this view deck at The Conch House!

The owners have taken great care to make sure we had the most amazing and relaxing stay! The pool and downstairs bar was just what we needed, and the view from the deck was incredible! Five stars!!! We will be back!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car.

Our family of five had an absolutely wonderful vacation on North Captiva. As our often particular eight year old son said, " this is the best vacation ever!". The house was fully equipped with all the amenities of home, but made you feel worlds away. The beach was unspoiled and beautiful. The staff were all very helpful and friendly. We spent a month at the conch house and really enjoyed the home, especially the pool with the tv next to it and the new pool bar. The house was very comfortable and just as it was described on the vrbo web site. We really liked the location on the island. We went on several excursions with boats of fun and would definitely use them again. We found the restaurant named over the water at the safety harbor club. It was advertised as private but is open to the public. We ate there often and really enjoyed it every time. The house was perfect for us. We had another couple join us for one week, then had our college daughter and her roommates for another week and the house worked great for either group. We had a few small issues and either Sara or Kayla at the front office took care of it right away. We would definitely recommend the Conch house.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, adventure seekers.

About the owner: We are local residents living in Naples, FL. Our busy lives really keep us on the go. We are avid boaters and love fishing, biking, jogging, and basically anything that gets us outside.
Why the Owner Chose North Captiva Island:
The very first time we ever came to the island; we were both hooked. I have been coming out to North Captiva for about 10 years and have made many friends who also live and vacation there. It is such a great place to get away from it all and relax. There really is such a thing as “island time”. When the right home for us to purchase became available we jumped immediately. Seriously; my wife and I looked at several houses and then we saw the Conch House. Funny thing though- it was shortly before the last ferry was scheduled to depart on a Sunday. So we literally saw it for about 15 minutes. When we got home that night we decided to put an offer in. And he we are –loving every moment since!
The Unique Benefits at this House:
What separated the Conch House from every other property was the location. Not to mention, the cozy warm feeling you get when you stay there. The close proximity to the beach makes the Conch House extra special. It is on a huge lot, and the whole house and pool face west (for sunsets!) We’ve taken great care to keep the landscaping and outside areas very nice and clean. You feel as though you can touch the ocean from the master bedroom deck upstairs. It has a real tropical and beachy feel. Sometimes this is taken for granted, not all owner’s take the outside management with as much passion as we do. We believe this really makes the experience.
As for the layout, it is so convenient for families (also in our very near future!) We have unbelievable views all around, especially the master bedroom (upstairs), which has windows on all sides for a 360 degree view! The open feeling is really nice. We spent a full year renovating and bringing all new furniture and bedding out to the island. Get ready for some great nights rest. We enjoy sharing our home with those fortunate enough to get away, don’t forget to leave us a note in the guestbook!
