Unwind, relax and take in nature in this charming lakeside home. This beautiful remodeled “gem” makes you feel welcome and comfortable with all its inviting furnishings. The floor plan combines kitchen, dining, and living areas into a wonderful open space for family gatherings. The wrap-around sofa is so comfortable, I enjoyed snuggling under the cozy blankets provided by the owners. The home is also well equipped and very clean.
The lake is ideal for either swimming, water skiing, jet skiing or fishing. If you like golfing, you're only minutes away from a beautiful “open to the public” golf course. Close by is the Perissos Winery, a must visit on the weekend with a view of the Falkenstein Castle as you look out over the vineyards and Longhorn Caverns.
This lakeside retreat gets an A+ from me. Thanks for a great get-away!

The owner is easy to talk to and work with. We had a problem with our payment getting lost in the mail and could not get another payment to her before we arrived in the area. She had received our deposit and allowed us to check in and then pay her the balance. Thanks so much!!! The house is on a little hill over looking the lake and the view from the house is beautiful!! The interior is well furnished and had ample seating for our two families (5 adults & 2 teens) in the living room. The living area also has a real nice large flat screen with cable and a DVD player. The bedrooms were roomy & had nice beds. The bedroom where the teens slept has a large TV so they could watch what they wanted and not disturb us "OLD PEOPLE" in the living room The two bathes had showers larger than what is the norm. Kitchen area was not as big as we are used to but it worked well with our meal plans. The screened in porch is a nice place to kick back and read a book or take an afternoon nap. There is lights and ceiling fans to use as needed. It was to warm for us to the large fireplace on porch. Now for the outside. The yard is well kept with nice trees and shrubs. The back yard slopes off gently toward the lake with stairs where the yard would drop off sharply down to the lake. The deck above the dock area is roomy with seating for about 6 with room for more chairs and people. There is also a fire pit that can also be used as a grill. We enjoyed viewing the stars from the deck through our telescope. We fished off of the three docks and caught a good bit of fish. My wife caught fish and this was her third time to do so!!!! We fished during the morning, late afternoon and night for best results. There was a lot of boat traffic from about 10 AM till 7 PM but after night fall it was peaceful and calm. There is ample covered parking and room to park 2 cars in the area that is not covered. A gas grill is also provided. We grilled burgers, hot dogs, steaks and pork chops. The area where this house is located is off the main road and has little tru-traffic. Our ladies got out and walked in the evenings without concern and saw deer, rabbits and peacocks. Within five miles there is a well known grocery store and fast food as well as pizza and two or three stop and go type stores. The golf course, which we played while there is about two miles up the road and offers good twilight rates. Jet ski and boat rentals are close by as well.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway.

Our family gets together every Labor Day since it is hard for us all to get together during the Thanksgiving and Christmas Holidays. We had a great time this year at this gorgeous home! It is everything the pictures and write ups say, "what you see is what you get"! The house is spotless and well equipped. My boys loved jumping off the top deck of the boat dock, they had such fun and so did the girls! Gram and Grandy even jumped off! I would highly recommend the place to anyone. Having my young grandsons 8 & 6, I really loved the protected swimming area. The yard is so pleasant and shaded my little 10 month old granddaughter could be out side with us and in the shade at the same time. You can't go wrong with this one.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway.
Owner response: We are SO glad you all enjoyed our lake house. It is a special place and we enjoy sharing it with great families that care for it like we do. Come back soon!

We had our best vacation ever here! This year, we had the opportunity to bring grown children and grandchildren together for our first family vacation in over 12 years. As the organizer of the trip (and as the Mom and Grammy), it was important to me to choose the perfect place and this was it! The house is clean, comfortable, and has an incredibly efficient floor plan. It offers adult comforts and yet it is kid friendly. I checked out several properties in the area and this place is an amazing value. The listing description is truthful and accurate. Did I mention the location? Awesome!! What a blast it was to take our "noodles" and float in the clean, cool waters of Lake LBJ...just outside the back door. We towed our boat up too and enjoyed exploring the expansive lake. My husband thoroughly enjoyed having the boat docked at the house so he could go out whenever he wanted. I spent many hours reading books I'd been meaning to read for months...all from the comfort of the screen room overlooking the water. The house and the location offer something for everybody and I highly recommend it. We've already contacted the owner and asked them to hold onto our deposit because we plan to book again soon. P.S. The owners are a joy to work with. Jenni is responsive and kind. You'll appreciate them even more when you check out the photo album that shows the house before they began the rebuild/restoration.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, adventure seekers.

We recently had our wedding at my cousin's lakehouse a few houses down from the Chester's. I rented this house for my Mom's best friend and her family. I have to say that it is one of the greatest vacation homes I've seen. It is so beautifully decorated and so comfortable! I was only there a few minutes for a couple of visits, but we were so completely wowed!!! My friends did not want to leave! In fact, they are working on plans for their house in Leakey and I kept saying - this is THE most perfect place - from the house, to the boat dock, to the steps leading to the river, the screened porch...WONDERFUL!!! I'm currently trying to get a group of girlfriends together so we can rent it. Thanks for a great place for my special friends, the Docman's. They were so happy staying here!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 2/2

We rented this house for a weekend with friends and it is gorgeous! Everything is brand-new and beautifully decorated. Our kids had a great time swimming and boating, and we enjoyed the deck over the lake, the huge screened-in porch, the shady back lawn, and the relaxing living room. It is the perfect getaway from the Austin area. I'm sure we'll be back.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

This is the 4th year my college roommates and I have met for our annual Roomie Weekend. We were delighted with the comfortable, clean and tasteful decor at the Slaney House. The personal photos made us all feel at home. The lake was wonderful and provided much needed "therapy" for a few moms who needed to get away! I have stayed in VRBO rentals before, and this was by far the nicest yet. We will definitely be back next year! Thanks so much!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

(May 8th to 10th, 2009) We stayed at the Slaney House to celebrate a family member's birthday. The owner's are very courteous and the lake house is absolutely beautiful. We enjoyed swimming in the lake, tubing, wake boarding and fishing from the private boat dock (The Fishing is Excellent !!!). Our teenagers actually said "Thank You" for the wonderful weekend and we are already scheduling future dates at the Slaney House. It's a super place with a fun / relaxing atmosphere.
