Location: Snowbird, Utah, USA (40 Minute Drive From Salt Lake City Airport)
Accommodations: Condominium, 1 Bedroom, 2 Baths (Sleeps 2-6)
1 bedroom, two-room, two full-bath condominium for arrival on Sat. Dec. 5, 2009 and departure on Sat. Dec. 12, 2009 at the Cliff Club, in Snowbird Utah. This is the only week that is available and we are only renting the full week.
Cliff Club condos are three room suites with lock-outs which enable each room to be used as an independent accommodation. We will be occupying one of the units and are renting the other two as a two-room suite. The rooms are furnished in a mission style and have Persian rugs throughout. In this configuration, the two-rooms are designated a "Crest One-Bedroom Condo." The dining/living-room has a complete (albeit small) kitchen and a balcony with a private 2-person hot tub. There is fold-out bed as well. The bedroom has a small refrigerator, a microwave, and a sofa that folds out into a bed. As many as 6 people can sleep in the two rooms.
To soothe your ravaged soul, rental includes a 1 week membership at the Cliff Spa which has a rooftop pool, sauna, as well as services for nominal fees (e.g. massage, hair cuts, etc.). There are several fine and family style restaurants, or you can cook your own meals in the full kitchen. You can order food on-line from Albertson's (a full service grocery store). They deliver daily. Or you can hike down to "General Grits" in the Snowbird Center for sundries. We've been going to Snowbird on and off for the past 20 years and can provide lots of information. If you have kids, you will find it to be a very kid-friendly place.
You will find that our rate of $3000 is very reasonable, compared to booking through the hotel. Please call the Snowbird central reservation number (follow the link below) to learn what rate you would have to pay to book a "Crest One-Bedroom Condo" through the hotel during this week (their rates vary depending on the week you want -- just like the airlines!).
The Snowbird resort is in the Wasatch-Cache National Forest in Little Cottonwood Canyon. It is about one mile down-canyon from the Alta resort and has a typical annual snowfall of 500 inches. It has a vertical drop of 3240 ft. The skiable area (not including Alta) is 2500 acres. There are 89 runs with roughly 27% Beginner runs, 38% Intermediate runs, and 35% Advanced runs.
