We recently went to Guatemala to celebrate my sister-in-law's birthday. She wanted to leap into her 30's by paragliding over Lake Atitlan. We stayed at Casa Tzampoc eight of the thirteen days. From the moment we arrived, we fell deeply in love with Guatemala. It is a very special place. And often, the experience you have with a place is a direct result of the people "behind the scenes." Barry and Nanette are two of the most gracious hosts you could ever come across. Even before we booked their gorgeous villa, Barry answered many of my questions by phone! He was a wealth of knowledge and gave us great advice when planning our trip. Casa Tzampoc is a magnificent home and is beautifully decorated with pieces from local artisans. We felt completely at home there- as did our three year old daughter. The views are spectacular and the pictures can not capture the magic of the lake. David Yates, who owns the awe-inspiring 5 bedroom home next door to Casa Tzampoc is another person that helped to make our stay so memorable. He helped to coordinate and arrange so many exciting activities for us. From hiking to yoga to boat rentals to Spanish lessons, David put us in contact with the most incredible people. Also, Nicholas does more than care for the home; he is a kind soul that can share many interesting stories about the local area. And, finally, if you stay, you must have Angela cook for you. Her Guatemalan dishes are to die for (I'm dreaming of her Jocon!), and her Italian dishes (amazing handmade pasta!) rival the best in NYC. We miss all of our new friends and we will definitely be back to visit!

Barry and Nanette,on behalf of Kathy and the rest of our family, I want to thank you for a great experience staying in your home at Lake Atitlan. We enjoyed the beauty and comfort of tha house. It is clear that you have worked very hard to create an idyllic location to enjoy life on the Lake, along with Guatemalan culture. We had a wonderful opportunity to spend time relaxing together while also visiting many of the interesting locations in the area. David was very helpful with suggestions for transportation, eating and shopping, which made out stay all that more enjoyable. We also appreciated all the help from Nicholas and Suli making sure everything was perfect and running smoothly during our stay. We will be recommending the Casa Tzampoc to others who may be interested in traveling to Guatemala.Kathy is on the Board of Directors for Common Hope(Families de Esperanza in Antigua), I am confident that the other Board members who visit Guatemala with their families will enjoy the comforts of your home as we did. We look foward to visiting Casa Tzampoc again in the future! Hopfully we will have the opportunity to own a house like yours down the road when timing is right for our family. In the meantime it is comforting to know that we have a great place to visit. All the best to you and everybody else that made our visit to Guatemala such a positive experience.

Hello Nanette and Barry, this is a short note to thank you for one of the most beautiful vacations we have ever had, your home is one of the most beautiful places we have ever stayed. Our children 3 and 5 said "this is a special occasion " referring to your home and the views of the lake and volcanos. We could write a novel about our thought on this vacation and the Casa Tzampoc. thank you for sharing your home with our family,we feel very lucky.

Dear Barry and Nanette, We just returned todat from our philantropy trip to Guatemala. After the good work was done we needed some time to rest, and we were rewarded by 7 beautiful days at the Casa Tzampoc. Nature gave this place amazing picturesque views of the Lake and the volcanos. We have visited Lake Atitlan many times, but we have to tell you, this time was awesome

Dear Barry and Nanette, We have just returned from Guatemala and want to thank you very much for sharing you beautiful home with us. We don't think any photo can capture the uniqueness of the casa and it's space. Simply Stunning. We must have seen the Lake a hundred different ways from the gorgeous views from the Casa. The girls loved the pool, and usually began and ended every day with a swim. We loved Nicholas and Suli, they were both very sweet and attentive. In all it was a huge success and we hated to leave.

Hello Barry and Nanette, I am finally back at my deskagain after a long and wonderful vacation in Guatemala. I just wanted to send you a short note to thank you again for having given me the opportunity to celebrate my birthday at such a beautifuly gorgeous house! My family still can't get over the beauty and magic of Casa Tzampoc. Of course, it also helps that the house is framed by some of the most beautiful scenery in the world. We already have co-workers who have been inquiring on the Casa, so we expect you to have more guests from our family here at Indiana University. I know for sure we will be back in the near future.

Wow, I cannot say enough about this house and our experience with the owners and their representatives. Outstanding! The pictures do not do the magnificent house justice! All of our concerns were addressed, and we had the most wonderful time. Thank you, and we can't wait to return. I am also adding that we would be happy to correspond with anyone who has any concerns about staying in this home. It can be a bit nervewracking to book a place sight unseen. An A++++ experience.
