house, deck, and hot tub facing east for valley and mountain views
Location: Wilson, Jackson Hole Area, Wyoming, USA (7 miles from Jackson (10 minutes) 8 miles from Teton Village) View Map
Accommodations: House, 5 Bedrooms + No additional sleeping rooms avail, 3 Baths (Sleeps 10)
Keywords: vacation House
This 5 bedroom/3 bath cedar log home is located on a plateau directly above the town of Wilson. It is surrounded on 3 sides by spruce, Douglas fir, lodgepole pine, and aspen forest as well as wildflower laden meadows. The 4th side opens to breathtaking elevated views of the Jackson Hole valley, the Gros Venture and Snake mountain ranges as well as Sleeping Indian, Jackson Peak, Snow King Mountain, and Munger Mountain.
There is immediate easy access to the town of Wilson (a 2 minute walk) but the property remains both secluded and private, surrounded by dense, elevated forest, just removed from the main town. This property is in close proximity to multiple bike and cross country trails, the legendary Snake River and grocery shopping at Hungry Jacks General Store. The Stagecoach is a popular local bar for both the Wilson and Jackson crowd and is also a short 2 minute walk down the pass as is Nora's Fish Creek Inn, known for their great breakfasts and dinners. Wilson is located at the start of the Teton Pass and it is a short equidistant 7-10 minute scenic drive with extraordinary mountain views to either the Teton Village ski mountain or the town of Jackson.
During the winter ski season we are ideally located (10 minutes to skiing and the same to town) between the powder covered slopes of Rendezvous and Apres Vous mountains at Teton Village and the town of Jackson with it's shopping, restaurants, and nightlife. Targhee is a 35 minute drive over the pass for a change of pace mellow skiing experience. Outstanding cross country skiing is available two minutes from the house in either direction....either a magnificient scenic trip over flat terrain along the Snake River with mountain vistas, or more challenging world class trails two minutes "up the pass" at Trail Creek Ranch.
Viewing and exploring Yellowstone National Park and returning in time for dinner is a readily accomplished day trip from our location. Going in the opposite direction over the Teton Pass (the house is located near the base of the pass) is a short drive to Victor, Driggs, Targhee, and multiple famous trout streams in eastern Idaho.
The home has a wrap around deck with a year round hot tub, a fire pit, and outdoor barbecue facing the mountain and valley views. There is a horseshoe pit on the grounds. There are two fireplaces and two jacuzzi tubs. In addition to the kitchen, bedrooms and baths, there is a large glass faced cathedral style living room, a dining room, a family room with a large river rock stone fireplace, a recreational area with a pool table, large flat screen LCD viewing screen with surround sound, HD cable, wireless internet, and wireless sound system throughout the house. There are two first floor bedrooms, two lower level bedrooms, and one second level bedroom. The master bedroom on the second level has a king size bed. The first floor bedrooms consist of a smaller corner bedroom with a queen size bed and a larger corner bedroom with double size bunk beds and a pullout couch. The lower level bedrooms have a queen size bed in one and a double bed in the other. Both are corner bedrooms. Each of the three levels has a bathroom, with the master having its own. Parking is available in front of the house for several cars (snow plowed during the winter months). There is one additional heated garage space during the winter months as well.
A year round concierge lives in a studio loft above the unattached garage. He is available to answer any questions or handle any problems that might arise. For a separate fee, concierge services are available for groceries upon arrival and to help pre-arrange recreational activities. Long term rentals are available.

Why the Owner Chose Wilson
The Wilson area location gives us access to all these activities our family enjoys in a very beautiful setting. Yellowstone is less than 60 miles away and the great trout streams in eastern Idaho are a short drive away as well. Wilson is a quiet, serene little town halfway between Jackson and the Teton Village, with easy access to both.
The Unique Benefits at this House
The house is surrounded by forested land on three sides, while the livingroom, diningroom, family room, deck and hot tub all face the Jackson valley and spectacular mountain views. Secluded, yet two minutes from the town of Wilson
Historic, original building; general store with groceries, clothes, and ambiance.
An extensive biking trail that runs for miles including mountainous and valley terrain less than a minute from the house
Owner's Map of Wilson
Our family of six (plus two grandchildren) enjoys skiing, fishing, hiking, biking, and outdoor photography. When not doing these outdoor activities we enjoy reading by one of our two indoor fireplaces. Alternately, we can either be lounging in the 8 person hot tub or sitting on our redwood deck enjoying the panoramic mountain views and catching the late afternoon "alpenglow" of Jackson and Sleeping Indian peaks.

We stayed in this house over Christmas 2011 and had a great time. The house sits above Wilson with great views of the Valley. The house is beautiful and comfortably handled our group of 9. Only about 10 minutes from Jackson Hole Ski Resort ( fka Teton Village) or the town of Jackson. The owner is easy to work with and you will not be disappointed. We hope to return someday.

We stayed here this summer ~ three families (with children) visiting the area for a wedding ~ the house was wonderful! Lots of space and places for folks to spread out, great views, convenient but quiet, owners easy to work with, many thoughtful details (wifi, computer & printer; small bottles of shampoo and toothpaste, etc.). Great access to Tetons! We couldn't have asked for more!

We held a family reunion in July with family from MT, CO, WY, and VA. This house served us very well as a comfortable base of operations for many varied activities around the JH area. The owner's son, acting as rental manager, was a friendly, helpful young man, always available to help out. The back yard was our favorite hang-out, due to the beautiful view, horseshoe pit, firepit, hot tub, and croquet set. The kids could walk or ride bikes into Wilson, although we were able to keep them busy otherwise with the fishing, golf, hiking, and Yellowstone Park in the area. We'd highly recommend this rental property for anybody looking for a relaxing home away from home. Thanks Kreigers!

Our family of 11 fit comfortably in this beautiful 5 bedroom home. It has smashing views of the Gros Ventre mountains to the south seen through the full length windows in the living room. The little town of Wilson is a short walk away and has a park that our grandchildren used for their baseball and soccer games. The location is very convenient to the Teton Village ski area and the town of Jackson, yet away from the crowds and noise. The large hot tub and deck are nice and the local female moose made her appearance close by one evening. It is owned by a nice family whose son lives above a detached garage and is very helpful if any questions arise. Highly recommended!
Owner response:Just to be clear ...we own the house, not the moose :-)

Peter says " Our party of nine advanced skiers really enjoyed staying @ this large rustic house. The furnishings were beautiful and the location was perfect for those who wanted to ski @ Jackson Hole and Grand Targhee. Wilson is a relaxing town which gives you some privacy. We drove into Jackson each night for dinner, which worked out very well. Having the owner's son above the separate garage was a bonus since he knows how to work the electronics and the wireless. A great vacation enjoyed by all."

Wonderful house, we have a great time every time we stay here. Easy access to area ski resorts, but in a quiet and secluded location. The house is gorgeous and has plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms for all. We really enjoy building a fire and playing games in the Moose Room after long days on the Mountain. I would highly recommend staying here. The owners are great as well!

Fabulous house, incredible views, very nice/helpful/accessible owners. Our large group had plenty of room in this attractively decorated and well-stocked home. It far exceeded my expectations - you should definitely choose this one! We will (and already have) recommend it to our friends and family. Thank you, Krieger family, for making our stay in Jackson Hole so enjoyable! Cory and Phil

This is a terrific house. First, it's beuatiful and comfortable on the inside. Second, the views are incredible. Third, it is convenient to everything in Jackson Hole and Fourth when the moose walks by when you're doing the hot tub it is unforgettable. We highly recommend this house for a family or families. Richard F. Hrdlicka
Owner response:This is not a trained moose and is obviously an occasional occurrence. I am surprised that two different guests had this visual experience as it has only happened to me a few times over the years. Maybe they used lilac fragrance beads in the hot tub.
