This is a very nice house, but small and cramped. The backyard is beautiful and looks just like the pictures. The inside, however, is tiny. There is no comfortable place to eat as the kitchen is small and crammed and there is no dining room. Everything else is exactly as advertised, but I don't think I'd stay here again because it is just a bit too small.Owner response: Please note that tenants stated "everything is exactly as advertised", including the square footage and photos of every room. We are not trying to mislead anyone. This is not a sprawling, 3000 square foot house.I am not sure what they were expecting. Please continue on reading the other reviews. Thank you, Nick

From the minute we drove into the driveway, everything was as promised. This property is "professionally" managed by the "owner". THAT is a rare and wonderful "perfect storm". There are notes and instructions only "where" and "when" you need them, and it doesn't overwhelm the sense of home. It is well thought out. Need an extra pillow, or more towels? Everything is exactly where you expect it to be. The owner walked us through the house quickly yet covered the right amount of stuff. No, I'm not the president of the Nick fan club - I just met the guy! OK - enough about Nick. The house was great. The back yard was an incredible haven (yup - just like the pictures). Plenty of warm sun, and incredible shade - all in the same backyard - at the same time - to meet your whims. The downtown area was a short walk to everything that mattered (Food, Shopping, Food, Casino, Food). Location, Location, Location.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway, sightseeing, people with disabilities, families with young children.

The house's location is great for walking 2 blocks into Downtown Palm Springs. When we arrived, the Thursday Night Street Festival was going on and I felt like a local - just being able to lock up the house and go for a nice walk for street food and shopping at the craft stands. Mmmm... street food! The house is very comfortable and private and the yard is a beautiful oasis with the pool, bright blue sky above and the mountain backdrop just beyond the property. I also enjoyed the fact that the pool and spa are salt-water - no heavy chlorine smell. Everything we needed was provided and there were no annoying distractions. Not only will I come back to THIS house, but I would prefer to come back to THIS house as opposed to even driving out to the La Quinta Resort. My wife and I enjoyed our stay so much, we wanted to move in!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

My wife and I returned to Palm Springs and once again stayed at La Casita. The place is like home when you walk in the door and the back yard/pool area is heavenly. The location could not be better as we could walk to shop, eat at many, many locations, take very quiet walks to secluded areas of the neighborhood, walk to a trail head that leads up the mountain, walk to meet friends of Bill W. (2 locations), etc. A car is not necessary unless you want to explore other areas for recreation and other dining spots. Nick is most helpful if the need arises and answered all of our questions about the area. We will return.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway, sightseeing, families with young children.

Enjoyed this vacation rental with my sister's and Mom for a 3 night stay. Couldn't of asked for more! The house exceeded our expectations...loved the backyard pool/spa and hammocks as well as the inside decor. Beds were also comfortable. A major bonus was the very close proximity (easy walking distance) to the main strip of downtown Palm Springs - shopping and dining out couldn't have been more convenient. We hope to return next summer! Thank you Nick!Recommended for: Tourists without a car, families with teenagers, age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway, families with young children.

Six of us were fortunate enough to have spent a week at La Casita. The home is charming and very adorable. Within no time, it really felt like our home, not merely a rental accomodation. The backyard with the pool (mineral, not chlorine), hot tub, table, chairs, loungers, sun umbrellas and hammocks was the most restful place we have ever been. Just lying in the hammocks made you feel like you were relaxing at the finest spa. The house itself, was very comfortable and really did seem larger than it looked. There were plenty of towels, sheets, pillows, dishes, glasses, etc.. I can't say enough about Nick. ANYTIME there was an issue, he was immediately reachable on his cell phone, and was willing to do whatever it took to make it right. The issues were minor, and quickly resolved. He was even kind enough to leave us some Ralph cards so that we could receive the discounts on our groceries. The neighbourhood is perfect. Very close, easy walk to downtown. Also, very good value for 6 people, who otherwise would have had to stay in 3 hotel rooms. The only minor flaw, in the otherwise perfect scenario, was the housekeeping was not perfect. My husband and I did spend about 1/2 an hour cleaning the outside lawn furniture and dusting the inside, and then it was perfect.( But, I am very particular) But, to Nick's credit, all the cleaning supplies were there, even including laundry supplies, some kitchen staples, and some really fun floatation devices for the pool. We had some relatives staying close by, and they came over with the grand-children, and it was so great to be able to position the big sun umbrellas that were in the backyard to cast shade on the pool, so that the little ones could play in the pool. Just great. We all had a wonderful time. Thank you so very much Nick for being such a great owner.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway, sightseeing, families with young children.

My family and I stayed here the last weekend in Sept of 10' and loved every minute of our stay. Great location and extremely close (walking distance, 2 Blocks) to downtown Palm Springs. Clean, very well maintained and just the right size. The salt water pool was our favorite. Didn't spend too much time inside other than sleeping. Would stay here again. Thank you Nick!Recommended for: Tourists without a car, families with teenagers, age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway, sightseeing, people with disabilities, families with young children.

If a picture is worth a thousand words, then the sixteen photos accompanying this property description do indeed represent 16,000 of the best, and we need add very little else. Had a fabulous two-week stay in November and would recommend the experience of living in this charming and classy home to anyone wishing to enjoy all that Palm Springs and vicinity has to offer. Try it -- you will absolutely love it.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway, sightseeing.

Myself and 6 other women (25-29 yrs old) stayed here for a bachelorette weekend, and we couldn't have asked for a better place to stay. The pictures don't do La Casita justice. It has been immaculately restored into this quaint little spanish paradise. Loved the pool and the set up with each room having it's own acces to the yard! All you need is a suitcase full of swimsuits, sunscreen, and a good bottle of tequila (food is optional). True to it's description, it is only 2 blocks from downtown! The owner was more than helpful, and had some amazing recommendations! We are definitely coming back!!!Recommended for: Tourists without a car, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

We spent a week in this house from July 3rd -10th, 2010. The house is great, WiFi worked great, the beds are all comfortable (I had to sleep in them all at one point or another), the linens are lovely and the pool and backyard patio is sensational and private. Low key, low maintenance desert landscaping was lovely. Our two kids (ages 3 & 6) loved the house and the pool and were safe going in an out of the house because of a door alarm beeps when someone leaves the house. We also appreciated the location as it is one block off S. Palm Canyon Drive and was an easy walk to good shops and restaurants, though you could take a car and still not have a problem parking. We had a rental car but it was nice to get out and walk around a bit after supper. The neighborhood is nice and there are a few famous residences located nearby so you know that it's a "good neighborhood". Melvyn's famous restaurant, bar and hotel is located at the end of the next block and Liberace's place is about 2 blocks in the other direction. Elvis' place is about a mile away. This property is well worth the price of the rental in a safe and picturesque location.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway, sightseeing, people with disabilities, families with young children.
