My family enjoyed our vacation and this home. It was perfect! One bedroom for each child, laundry, full kitchen. My only complaint -- should have used more sunscreen. LOL We enjoyed a fantastic Mother's Day dinner at Key Colony Inn (the Key Lime pie was delish!), swimming at the Cabana Club, a trip to Key West, swam with the dolphins at the Dolphin Research Center (Jax was a friendly creature), explored John Pennekamp and even drove to Homestead to an alligator farm. We will remember this week forever. Thanks Peggy and Rob for helping make it happen!

The hospitality of The owners was bar none! So welcoming and helpful! Now lets talk about the home. . . Just perfect! We had two couples and a four year old. Very clean, neat and well laid out. The perfect location on KCB with the little playground and par 3 golf course directly behind. Very quiet neighbors. We enjoyed most of our meals cooked in the fully equipped kitchen or on the gas grill. I could just go on and on. Thank you so much Peggy and Rob for opening your home for others to enjoy! God bless!

This was our first trip to the Florida Keys and selected this rental based on the previous reviews. The other reviews are very accutate and this home is very well kept and beautifully decorated (kudos to Peggy!). Being new to KCB, we didn't really know what to expect from the house or location but it was very much as pictured. We thought the lay out a bit strange when we first got there and we had a hard time locating the second toilet since it's behind the master bedroom door which was kind of funny once we found it! :) Oddly, the other posts spoke of the neighbor, Don, but we didn't see him at all. The neighbor on the left though who others said wasn't very friendly was very nice and gave us recommendations for places in Key West and also in Marathon to eat. The one in Key West is owned by her son but we never got there. The one in Marathon was a breakfast place called the Stuffed Pig which was very good. Our favorite eatery was Sparkies which was great! We really didn't have a bad meal the whole time we were in the Keys. We also ate at Sunset Grill down by the 7 Mile Bridge and at a place that is hard to find called Castaways. It's located on 15th Street (make a left right before the Citgo) heading south but before the end of Marathon. My husband and son both were scuba diving and we'd highly recommend the little shop right in KCB called Deep Blue Dive, also Tilden's was a great dive shop. On our next trip (already planning it) they will definitley be diving with both groups again. High winds prevented us from going out one day but the other days were perfect. A word of caution when trying to plan the dives beforehand is that some places (like Pennekamp) require a minimum of 8 people to take the dive boat out and they didn't tell us this till the day prior which meant a little re-juggling. Also a "must do" is the Dry Tortuga's (out of Key West) but the snorkeling the day we were there wasn't that good, just mediocre. Only went to the Cabana Club once but it seemed like it would be a good spot if more people were there. We had the pool to ourselves that day. Rob and Peggy are wonderful and accomadated every question I had promptly. A few last minute questions about the house, grill and Cabana passes were answered while we were at the house. Can't wait to go back again!

The pictures do not do this home justice! It was perfect! My husband & I treated his sister, her son, and 2 of his friends to a Keys vacation. The boys had the time of their lives! There was plenty of room in the house so that nobody got on each others nerves. My sister in law loved the sun bathing roof top and spent every morning watching the sunrise from there. There is no need to bring anything to this home because everything is provided, it is amazing! The boys caught us a cooler full of lobster, this was their first experience doing this and they were so excited! The neighbor, Don is a doll, very helpful if you need any fishing advice. The other neighbor was not so friendly, but not bad enough to wreck our time! We all enjoyed the cabana club when taking a day off from fishing/snorkeling/ or lobstering. For the past 10 years, 4 to 6 times a year we have been renting homes in Key Colony this is by far the most immaculate, well decorated home we have ever rented. The floors sparkle when you walk in! Thanks Rob & Peggy for sharing your beautiful home and giving the kids such great memories!

The home was very nice, looked just like the pictures. Great for kids. We had our 2 year old with us and it was nice to have the playground about 100 feet away, directly across the street. Also great to have access to the pool and private beach for the children. Everything you need is there. The boat lift was a really nice plus. You have nice places to grab a quick sandwich or ice cream around the corner(within walking distance). Great access to fishing the Atlantic or Gulf. Also quick access to the bait shop/marina for anything you need. We were able to get to our lobstering spots within 15 min, and able to bully net within 5 min at night. Grocery is only a few min down A1A. Close to everything you will need to get too. All together a great place to stay, and we will definately be back!

We really had a great time in Key Colony Beach and loved the property. We took daily walks to sunset park and the Cabana Club, enjoying the pool, frozen drinks, and tremendous food options as we bathed in the warm sun. Marathon and Key Colony Beach are ideally located to enjoy all of the benefits of the Keys from Islamorada to Key West. Key Colony Beach was quaint, peaceful, and inhabited by the nicest people. The property was comfortable, spacious, open and filled with nice furnishings. The unit was centrally located and has a great spot on the canal with fishing right off the dock. We loved our first trip and look forward to many more.

My family and I recently stayed at this unit in KCB. The unit had everything you could want in a keys vacation including beautiful decorating and all the appointments. We loved the outdoor space and the sundeck on the roof was a really unique feature. Having the finger dock and boat lift made our boating experience top notch and the fishing was great! I would highly recomend this unit to anyone. 7th Street and the Cabana Club are the way to go in Key Colony Beach.

Our vacation to Key Colony Beach was beyond amazing!! The hot topic on the drive home was the rental home we stayed in. Last year on our Keys trip, we stayed in hotel rooms but NEVER again. The owners of the home really made the process of renting very simple. They were very helpful with any questions we had and we received the key for the home 2 days after transferring the rental money. We had a group of five people and when our week was over, nobody wanted to leave! The entire house was very clean and tropical, which really put us in the "Keys mood." Not to mention how much money we saved by having a full kitchen. During our hotel stay last year, we had to go out to eat at least twice a day. This year, we went grocery shopping at the beginning of the week and had leftovers by the end. The men still won't stop talking about the dock right outside of our back door, which we were able to have our boat lifted at. They brought home fish everyday and used the cleaning table to clean them right outside. The girls and myself loved walking to the Cabana Club everyday and enjoying the pool, beach, and full bar. Overall, our vacation was a major success. Our entire group would definitely recommend this home to anyone looking to have a great trip.

We rented this house to take a week vacation to the Keys. We had six people in our group and couldn't have been happier. The pictures did not do this house justice. We were very pleased with the cleanliness and tropical feeling the house gave. We brought our own boat and had the dock foot steps from the back door. Everything and anything we needed was available while renting this house. The owners made the whole rental process very simple. They were organized and helpful with any questions we had. The Cabana Club right down the street was definitely a BIG hit with our group!! We can't wait to visit Key Colony Beach again next year.

We have spent the last 8 winters in KCB, the last two, living in this welcoming home. We have everything we need when we get there and do not have to bring anything but clothing and personal items. Living in a home for almost three months you can easily determine if things are not as advertised. This home has it all. The interior of the home is beautifully furnished and immaculate, and the paver patio is perfect, with designer cushions, stored inside, to place on the chairs when you are using them. A brand new gas grill makes outdoor dining a real treat. Full moon over the water, is a sight to behold from the patio or roof deck. You can walk to three restaurant/bars, have a terrific coffee house, to which you can walk, and you have the use of the Cabana Club, with its pool, beach and lounge; plus the staff there will bring your food and drinks right onto the beach for your convenience. Back to the home; we had a few small glitches during our stay this year; which were addressed immediately, by the owners, upon our notifying them. The neighbors are warm and friendly, one of whom brings us fresh caught fish whenever he goes out fishing. Just a perfect place to spend the winter. We can't wait to get back.

My husband and I had a wonderful relaxing weekend here. The home was absolutely beautiful and so inviting. The pictures do not do it justice...must see for yourself. Everything we needed was available at the house. We loved sitting out on the back patio and watching the sun set. The house was in a great location and convenient to local restaurants and stores. We will definitely plan another vacation to this rental.

Our family spent Christmas at Key Colony Beach and had a wonderful time. The townhouse was beautiful and fully furnished. We love to cook so having a large kitchen area that was completely furnished met our needs. There was plenty of space for 6 adults and every room was nicely decorated and very clean. The weather was awesome and we enjoyed daily bike rides, evening walks to Sunset Beach and spending time at the Cabana Club. Before calling it a day we climbed the stair case to the roof top and viewed the stars. We also enjoyed the park and golf course across the street and playing a few games of bocce ball. It was a great vacation in Paradise and Rob and Peggy were very easy to rent from. Thanks, Kathy

My wife and I had a fantastic time vacationing in your home. This is by far the best location in the keys and your home is absolutely amazing! The furniture and decor is beautiful and the unit is very clean and well maintained. The Cabana Club and the near by shops and resurants were top notch. Having our boat right outside of the unit on your lift was very convenient and simple to use. This unit had everything we needed and I highly recommend it to anyone looking to enjoy what the keys life is all about! Thanks again! Jason and Tammy

My wife and I and two of our grown children along with their significant others had a wonderful stay at your vacation home in December. We tend to be picky where we stay and we were very pleased with the accomidations @ KCB. It was like we were at our own home in Port St. Lucie. The place was spotless and we really needed nothing but sun tan lotion. We had pleanty of elbow room so I didnt have to be too close to one of the significants. I am a Captain, and we brought our boat. I found the whole area very user friendly with launching of the boat to the storing of the trailer to the user friendly boat lift. I think my freezer is still full of fish. Thank you for sharing your home with us we will be back maybe even this summer. Captain Steve & Ann Baese (captainbaese@aol.com) just in case you need a good one.

We had to walk through another bedroom to get to the Master bedroom. The guest shower that is shown in the picture is the main bath not the guest bath. We had no high speed internet as advertised and only a few tv channels. The dock needed to be fixed as it did not work, the freezer broke, and the toilet had to be fixed because it leaked from the bottom due to a bad seal. There was a water leak from the main shower which had caused wood rot in the woodwork in the hall and the 2nd bedroom. We had to use towels to soak up the water when we took a shower. It was quite a disappointment and not at all what we expected from the advertisement.
Owner response:I currently have 5 rental properties. This is the first time I have ever kept a deposit of a renter. Unfortunately, this is a very misleading review and nothing short of a weapon to get their deposit returned. To note, this type of review is against the Terms and Conditions of writing a review (at the bottom of document) but was allowed to be posted without regard to their acceptance of the Terms and Conditions. Facts are as follows: 1. Home was rented for a month by the tenant in November of this year. 2. Tenant was fully aware there is NO SMOKING and NO PETS. 3. The carpet in the unit was replaced the week before their arrival. 4. They SMOKED in the unit for 30 days and burned incense and caused major damage. Confirmed by Manager, neighbors, Cleaner, and plumber. Cost me almost $300 to have it professionally cleaned then it cost me my time to drive down and handle. 5. They brought their dog who used the bathroom under the furniture. They left it there. 6. I had a Plumber there twice: First time for a clogged toilet which turned out to be personal wipes they were flushing down the toilet. Out right lie about a bad seal. Cost $155 to repair and I paid for it. 7. Second trip by the plumber cost me $110 for a leaking shower. No leak found and in fact they were not closing the door all the way and the water was spraying out. 8. He broke off my hose holder and I had to pay $30 to replace. 9. They put wood chips in my gas grill and it cost me $299 to replace. 10. He backed his boat into my front shutter and left a permanent dent. 11. He knocked the bipass shower door off track and left it. To their claims: 1. They had high speed internet but it was direct connect and not wireless as they preferred. 2. The wood damage is to Miami-Dade pine (extinct) baseboard. A tiny section behind dressor at floor in bedroom, there when I purchased. 3. Year old freezer did go out and I had a new one there the next morning. 4. Have the invoices from plumber regarding it was not a bad seal. 5. The unit has Basic Cable as advertised and they could have paid to get Premium Channels. 6. The boat lift GFI was in the house and not on the dock as he thought. Electrician will verify that this is correct. The lift was great after I explained it. Works fine and is to code. In conclusion, it really bothers me to write this review but these were the most distructive and dishonest tenants I have ever experienced and my neighbors ever had to endure. Sorry, Rob

Though I have been to the keys many time we want to thank you for the best vacation ever. Key Colony Beach had everything you wanted. The Cabana Club and restaurants were great and setting was beautiful. We loved the unit! Your furniture was beautiful and we had everything we needed. I would recommend this unit to anyone and 7th Street is the best street in Key Colony Beach. The finger dock was a great feature and the boat lift held my 30' boat without issue. Again, thank for a great vacation and we'll see you next year !! Sam and Nicole

My wife and I needed a place to go where we could relax and get away from the stress of business. This place was the best medicine for our needs. We drove down to the keys expecting your typical Florida resort type living and found this to be much more serene and relaxing. We could go fishing, play golf, and eat at wonderful resturants all without having to be on a schedule. I recommend this place to anyone who wants the most relaxing "get away" possible. No worries, Just comfort!

We were a party of 4 adults staying in this wonderful villa, we had all the facilities we needed to make our stay very comfortable. we were perfectly positioned to visit all the keys. We had wonderful evenings at Sparkies bar, great food & atmosphere. The Cabana club was wonderful, very friendly staff & wonderful cocktails. The neighbours are very friendly offering helpful advice,we enjoyed chats with the men when they returned in their boats after a days fishing and also got to see a manatee right outside the villa. We certainly hope to return in the future as we came home feeling totally relaxed just what a holiday should do. We highly recommend this villa & location for families of all ages there is plenty to do & see including the Turtle hospital & Dolphin sanctuary which were wonderful, there are also lovely beaches very nearby. Key west is a must to visit, we were very impressed with Hemmingways house. Thanks Rob & Peggy for letting us share your wonderful home for too short a time, looking forward to our next visit.
