My husband and 10 year old son and I stayed here for 8 days. This apartment is lovely. It is very spacious, well equipped and in the ideal location. The street is amazing - shops, great restaurants, very beautiful. There is a grocery store very nearby and great trattorias literally out the door. We walked everywhere from the apartment. At night walking to the Tiber or Piazza Navona is an easy walk after dinner. Would recommend this highly. I wish we were still there!

My husband and I spent two wonderful weeks in this apartment (October 21-November 4, 2011). It is spacious, well-equipped and in a PERFECT location for exploring Rome. It is within walking distance of the Vatican, Piazza Navona, Trastevere, the Jewish Quarter, Campo de' Fiori and many other sites. A grocery store is near by, as are many trattorias. Taxi ranks and ATMs are close as well. The apartment is on an elegant main drag with a cobblestoned alley behind it. It is a totally secure building with tiny, but serviceable elevators. One caveat: Since the Romans are nocturnal-- and stay out until wee hours of the morning-- you will, no doubt hear the revelers (like everywhere in Rome). However, we found it all entertaining, rather than annoying. Fiora, the owner of the apartment, is very kind and helpful as is her assistant, Nur. We will stay here again and again....

Full kitchen, nice decor and very clean in addition to it's location makes this property an spectacular choice. Most of all Fiora and her team are just immediate reaction for what ever problem appears. Location few blocks between piazza Navona and Ponte san't Angelo makes it just the right spot. My only concern needs an air conditioner in the master bedroom.

My husband, 3 year old daughter and I stayed in this lovely apartment for 5 days in July 2011. We were very comfortable here. A full kitchen enabled us to save a lot of money by cooking and having snacks in the house. There was plenty ofroom for us. A small bedroom downstairs had 2 twin beds. The downstairs shower is small, but still fine to use. We used the washer and dryer every night, which enabled us to leave for the 2nd half of our trip with a suitcase full of clean clothes. The location was the best part. It is located on a very nice side street with tons of restaurants. There is an ATM and grocery store very close to the apartment. The area is safe. The bus lines are very close. Many attractions are within walking distance, such as the Vatican, Castel Sant'angelo, Piazza Navonna, the Pantheon. We walked to the Spanish Steps and Trevi fountain, but they were a bit of a walk. We opted to take a bus to the Forum and Colleseum. The wifi is a big help too. Tip: on the tv, you can change the language to English on many of the channels. There is a button on the remote for this. Also, do not get a car. Have the driver pick you up. It's worth the 45 euros.

This is a centrally-located apartment that has all that our family of five needed for a terrific week-long vacation in Rome. Our hostess was helpful and available for whatever we needed. She arranged a shuttle from the airport for us. We found that we didn't even need bus passes to get around the city, and thoroughly enjoyed having this convenient apartment location. All of the appliances worked and we were extremely pleased with all of the amenities, which were just as described. When we go back to Rome, we will certainly want to stay here again!

Our family took our first trip to Europe this month and rented this apartment in Rome. It was perfect! FYI: I am a "high maintenance" traveler and like clean accommodations. It can be a little "interesting" renting a unit online in another country and hoping it is as expected. Well, the apartment and the manager exceeded all expectations! The apartment is in a lovely neighborhood, we walked everywhere, to the Vatican, Colosseum, Forum. The unit is in a beautiful building, beautiful courtyard and a very clean apartment. One of the previous reviews mentioned the sofa needed to be cleaned, it was obviously just cleaned before our arrival! We were a family of five and the unit was a great fit. The beds were comfortable with clean linens/comforters. In addition to the apartment being just as presented online, the manager was also exceptional. The arrangement was that we would meet her at the apartment directly from the airport, and when we arrived she was waiting for us and got us settled in. Very kind and helpful personality. Everything promised was delivered, they went above and beyond with their service. We also utilized the driver service they offer to and from the airport which was a great service! For our return flight we needed a driver at 4 AM! The driver arrived on time, driving a nice Mercedes all at a reasonable price. Everything about this rental was perfect making our visit to Rome perfect!

My husband, 17 year old daughter and I stayed at Palazzo d'Avila for 8 days in February 2011. This was the first part of our 2 week visit to Italy. I had spent many hours researching a place to stay in Rome in advance of our trip. The description of this property, the location and the comments from other guests guided my choice. Fiora and I exchanged e-mails and all my questions were answered in advance of our trip. We made the right choice. This location was fantastic. The photos and description accurately represented the house. The house was very clean, very comfortable, very quiet and very secure. We had plenty of space and having the 2 bathrooms was very practical, especially with a 17 year old! Fiora and Nur arranged for the taxi to meet us at the airport and take us to the house - that was such a welcomed service after spending over 24 hours in air transit. The driver was very polite, kind and professional. This service is well worth the extra cost. In Fiora's absence Nur answered our questions on site and we thank her for her kindness and helpfulness. Everything we needed was located in the house and we very much appreciated the washer and dryer for laundry. We also very much appreciated having access to WiFi as it allowed us to easily stay in touch with our family and work back home in the comfort of our accommodations. The location of this house was terrific - everything was within walking distance and there were many restaurants handy to the house. We had a terrific meal at Ristorante Clemente at Piazza della Maddalena which is close to the house. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who appreciates fine food. We loved Piazza Navona and the proximity of the house to the piazza. I would highly recommend this house. Staying at this house was a big part of what made our trip to Italy a trip of a life time. Should I have the good fortune of returning to Rome I will once again stay at this Palazzo d'Avila!! Annette

I was just cleaning up my emails when I realized that I had not taken the time to thank Fiora and her staff for our wonderful stay in Palazzo d'Avila. This was our first trip to Rome. We wanted a few days to tour the city before boarding our cruise ship. Fiora and her staff were very helpful in making arrangements for pick up at the airport and also getting a cab large enough to take our group to our cruise embarkation point across the city on our last morning. The condo was exactly as represented, well maintained and comfortable. As others have indicated, it is walking distance to most anywhere and is in a beautiful area filled with shops and restaurants. We had hired an educational guide to take us thru the Vatican Museum and Sistine Chapel. Afterwards we asked for a recommendation as to the best places for food and shopping in the city and she sent us to our street! I personally enjoyed my early morning walks for coffee and pastry while the others slept. Piazza Navona at night is exciting, but at sunrise it is equally spectacular. Thanks for a wonderful stay and all your help. We hope to be back someday.

This was a 5 star location within walking distance to everything. The staff was friendly and helpful. The service offered to and/or from the airport was wonderful. We did have trouble with the air conditioning which was taken care of quickly but not completely resolved. The apartment was very spacious and clean except for the drapes in the living area and the sofas were very dingy and need desperately to be replaced. If these items were taken of care of I would definitely return and recommend this unit to friends.

We stayed in the home for a total of 8 nights. It was everything we hoped it would be. Fiora and her staff were able to answer to every one of our needs, from booking a car to pick us up at the airport (the best service by the way, thank you Fabio), hints on web sites to pre-buy tickets (to avoid the very long lines) and helping us navigate the city. What a gem of a location, restaurants almost at your front door, market not far, shopping and so much more to offer. I would stay here again in a heart beat.

What a wonderful FIRST VRBO experience. We recently returned from our trip to Italy and Greece where we used VRBO for the first time. I can honestly say after years and year of travel, lodgings, restaurants, that the VRBO experience is one I will certainly repeat from now on. Not only do you have the good fortune of staying in LOVELY places, but in our experiences, we have met LOVELY owners! We cannot thank Fiora enough for her genuine hospitality while visiting her city! The apartment was perfect for our group of 5. The son loved the couch! :) Having two bathrooms for our use was also very helpful. You cannot beat this location. A five minute walk to Piazza Navona. GREAT restaurants all around, lovely market that has everything you could possibly need/want. My only negative comment was that the AC was not working and unfortunately we were visiting during a very HOT spell! Thankfully, after contacting Fiora, she brought a fan to the apartment and that helped tremendously! When you have to sleep with the windows open you of course hear all of the fun going on down on the street level way into the evening/early morning! With this being said, I still loved every minute that we were able to have in this lovely apartment. Thank you, Fiora and VRBO!
Owner response:Linda thank you so much!! Hope to see you again, we have to go for dinner next time!! Fiora

The listing was beautiful and extreamly well kept. The owner's assistant was very helpful and saw to any needs that we had including transportation to the airport and to our rental car. The location was excellent and transportation was nearby. Most resturants in the area were very good. We were able to visit all the wonders of Rome from the listing without any problems. We could not have been more pleased with our stay and will surly recommend the listing to anyone who is traveling to Rome.

Thank you so much, Fiora and Nur, for making our stay in Rome so memorable! The apartment was simply beautiful and equipped with everything we needed for our 1 month stay. The neighborhood, without question, is where it's happening! The shops, restaurants, not to mention all of the beauty that Rome has to offer is at your doorstep! Nur was so helpful during our stay, with anything we needed. And a big shout out to Fiora, for guiding us and our rental car through the streets of Rome!! When we return, and we will, this will be our home! J & J New York City

Our party of four adults stayed in the apartment in early October. It was just great. Everything you could ask for...clean, great location, wonderful service, spacious, and all the little extras that make for a wonderful experience. We usually stay in apartments when we visit Rome (regularly)and this was by far one of our favorites - Fiora and Nur, the location, and the apartment itself. A++ Thank you.

We stayed for a week at this lovely apartment located very close to Piazza Novona. Wow! Why would anyone want to stay in a hotel when you could stay here? Fiora has everything super organized. Folks who meet you, linen changes after 3 days, washer and DRYER (incredibly rare in Europe). Satellite TV with 3 English stations for when you kick back at night. You can walk to the open air market at the Campo de' Fiori, there's a great forno there for early morning bread runs. If you're vigorous you can walk to the Vatican, the Spanish Steps or the Trevi Fountain but certainly to the Pantheon. You are 1 block from Corso Vitt. Emmauel from there you can catch a bus anywhere. Plus the apartment is beautiful and the neighborhood is happening... lots of shops, bars and restaurants, a beehive of activity but the apartment is quiet enough. I want to go back!

We stayed in this welcoming apartment for 3 nights during our stay in Rome. Fiora and Nur were both so helpful in making sure everything was perfect!! You can't ask for a better or more convenient neighborhood--be sure to explore the immediate neighborhood before setting out to see all the beautiful sights Rome has to offer. Our best meals were in restaurants literally within 5 minutes from the apartment. They arranged transportation to and from the airport which was great for us to not have to worry about that. We were a family of four ( with 2 teenage boys)and another couple; and the apartment was perfectly sized for our group. Wonderful place, wonderful city!!!

Stay: 1 week in September 2009 - 2 Couples My husband and I have both previously studied abroad in Rome and knew this apartment's location provided the ideal location to stay with my parents who were vacationing for the first time in Rome. It allowed great ease with proximity to reach all the highlights including the Vatican and all the necessities with being in a dense inner city neighborhood (shopping, markets, grocery, reasturants, etc.). The apartment was superb! Since the apartment photos have been posted, they have remodeled a bit for the better - the kitchen was moved from an enclosed room (now a second bedroom with two beds on the main floor) to just off of the living room where the dining room is pictured (the dining table is now tucked nicely under the staircase). Having this second bedroom and the two full bathrooms really allowed for each couple to spread out and get ready without having to juggle space - ensuring that we made it out early, leaving lots of time to hit the sites. Having the washer and dryer was also handy as we packed less and allowed us to wash up heading into the second part of our trip. The place offered everything we needed and the wireless internet allowed us to plan each night for the upcoming day. We appreciated all of Fiora & Nur's help - they arranged for a driver at the airport (at a good price) and made themselves accessible if we needed anything - we also liked that Fiora lives around the corner. They include an informational portfolio that includes emergency phone numbers, ways to reach them and instructions to operate things around the apartment (including if you blow a fuse - though we did not). Our one suggestion would be to include instructions for the washing machine. Fiora and Nur, thanks for offering a great place to stay at a fair price during our vacation time in Rome. We recommend this place to all!!!

We spent a week in this beautiful apartment in April 2009. My two children slept in the living room, in separate beds, and my husband and I had the large upstairs bedroom. Since my daughter is 14 and can spend much time in the bathroom, the second bathroom was a real stress reducer. The TV provided more stations than we have in Zurich, which was a big hit with the children. We also used the DVD player, the internet, and maps provided in the flat. The staff and owner were very responsive and helpful, and as already stated in other reviews, the location it the best. I would stay here again and gladly recommended it to anyone planning to visit Rome. Mary and family from Zurich

My husband and I brought our two small children to Rome in March, 2009. As the others have said, it is the absolute perfect location. We walked to every historical site imaginable. Didn't need to take a bus or taxi once except to and from the airport. Fiora and her team were wonderful and very helpful. My daughter has a tree nut allergy, so before our trip, Fiora translated a message for us into Italian that we could give to the restaurants where we ate. Upon our arrival, she had a list of hospitals by the phone (thankfully we never needed it). Every time we had a question or needed something, umbrella or whatever, someone from Fiora's office was right there. The place was nice and clean. But be careful not to have too many appliances/lights going at once. We blew a fuse twice. Luckily, someone from Fiora's office was right there to fix it.

Enjoyed a wonderful week there the last week of June,'09. Fiora's English is excellent and his assistant "Nur" is a sweetheart. Fantastic location!Cannot beat having a washer/dryer in the apartment +safe and satell TV (as in CNN,Fox,CNBC).Americans, in using the dryer you must empty the water from the container in the dryer or else it will stop! There's a supermarket closeby too.

Location, location, location -- with this apartment it is possible to see all of Rome’s important sights without once using public transportation. You can easily walk to the Forum for the day, or anywhere you desire. In fact, stroll to the Piazza Navona for gelatto just because you feel like it. Fiori and her assistant are so very helpful – from stopping by to personally assist with the wireless connection, to booking an early morning cab to the airport. Plenty of good places to eat nearby and also little shops to get fresh bread for breakfast or whatever else you need. Our large (and age diverse) family all enjoyed this apartment. Best of all, we felt surrounded by Italians rather than tourists. After a quick trip to the Spanish Steps and the Trevi Fountain where we found mobs of people, we were SO glad we did not stay in that area. The Kirk Family Washington, DC

We had an outstanding stay in this lovely apartment just a two minute stroll from Piazza Navona. The apartment is in a fabulous location, is comfortable and spacious, and our host was gracious and accommodating. This location is outstanding because of it's proximity to all the sights and because of the neighborhood you are living in. Just outside the locked door to the building, which is attended by a concierge, cobbled streets lead in every direction, filled with small, interesting shops, excellent and fun neighborhood restaurants, a grocery, espresso spots, sights, history, beauty.... All the sights are within easy walking distance and the routes to them are full of interesting things along the way. We never once used transportation. This stay in Rome was so far superior than our prior visits and it was because of where we stayed. This location is a must. The apartment itself was very spacious, clean, and comfortable. The master upstairs is huge, the bed and pillows extremely comfortable, and it was very quiet, situated on the inside courtyard of this building. Large closets, table and chairs, an upholstered chair to read in. Quite lovely. The living room has soaring ceilings and is also very quiet, looks out on a cobbled street, has plenty of comfortable seating to relax in at the end of the day. The whole apartment was clean and we had everything we needed. Our host was so kind. She thoughtfully supplied us with some unexpected groceries upon our arrival. We happened to ask if there was a toaster and the next day, one of her very nice assistants appeared with a brand new one in hand. Additionally, knowing that we were traveling with our two daughters, she rearranged the furniture and set up the pull out beds for both of our girls, tucking them in on either side of the very large living room, totally out of the way, all set up for our arrival. She was responsive to our every need. We would highly recommend this apartment. We loved it.
