Surf Dweller is centrally located on Okaloosa Island in Fort Walton Beach to take advantage of great local dining, attractions and fishing.

If you do dine out... Visit Old Bay Steamer, They specialize is seafood by the bucket full. Lobster tails, snow crab, king crab & shrimp are the contents of one of their buckets for two. You might get messy enjoying your meal, that's part of the experience though. They will tie a bib around your neck if you think that is necessary. They also offer pasta & steaks for the non-seafood lovers.
The original Fudpuckers Bar & Grill is located on Okaloosa Island. They opened in Fort Walton Beach on Okaloosa Island in 1986 and quickly became a favorite for visitors & locals alike. This restaurant is very family friendly. The younger ones in your group will enjoy the playground & everyone will enjoy the live music.
For the best pizza on the Island you need to go to Helen Back. Sit on the back patio and enjoy the view of the Sound like we do.
If you are looking for Italian food, Pranzo is just across Miracle Strip Parkway on the left.
Pandora’s Steakhouse is just across Miracle Strip Parkway as well. They offer steak, seafood & prime rib. They also offer a Wine Spectator award winning wine list.

What to do in Ft. Walton Beach when you aren't enjoying the wonderful beach...
The Okaloosa Island Fishing Pier is located by the Boardwalk off of Miracle Strip Parkway. The fishing pier is 1262 feet long and has an octagon at the end to insure everyone has plenty of room to fish. Test your skill at catching a 100 pounder, it's been done before! If you are not in to fishing you can still enjoy watching the great sunsets at night & watching the dolphins too!
The Boardwalk is home to clubs such as The Swamp & Howl at the Moon & restaurants such as the Black Pearl, Crab Trap & Floyd's. The beach is really great here & they have several sand volleyball courts. Lifeguards are also here if you have several swimmers you are trying to keep an eye on.
If you forgot your bathing suit or just need a new one for your trip, Alvin's Island is just across Miracle Strip Parkway. If you need more substantial shopping Santa Rosa Mall is just a few miles away in Mary Esther. They have The Gap, American Eagle, Bath & Body Works and many more. At the center of the mall is a carousel that the kids will love. Behind the mall is FastTrack go carts, it has an indoor track so it is nice to escape the sun or maybe the cold too!

The Gulfarium is a must see during your visit to Ft. Walton Beach. They have ongoing dolphin shows throughout the day. You will also have the opportunity to visit all sorts of marine life such as seals, sea lions, sharks, alligators, penguins and more.

For great shopping, The Silver Sands Outlet Mall is a vacation in its own right for shoppers you will have access to over 100 stores. The Destin Commons outdoor mall has stores such as Abercrombie & Fitch, Ann Taylor Loft, Banana Republic, Belk, Books-A-Million & Maui Nix Surf Shop to rattle off a few. For a bite to eat head to the Hard Rock Café, Tony’s Ristorante or Sushi Siam. More than just shopping the Destin Commons Center Plaza offers a soft-play kids playground and a 49-head pop fountain.
