We had a delightful four night stay at this lovely house. The views from the deck and from the wonderful windows in the house are incredible. The mountains seem to be always changing. The owners have thought of everything in the house. The kitchen is equipped with every imaginable tool. They've even put robes in the master bedroom closet. The house is lovely, well arranged with everything that you could want. Even though it feels like you are far away from everything, it's really only about 15 minutes to Hiawassee or Hayesville. We would love to return soon.

A beautiful, clean cottage filled with everything you will ever need. Comfortable and relaxing. My friend of 25 years and I ( who hadn't seen eachother for 3 yrs)) made this all about us! At the cabin, we saw a hummingbird and a raccoon. Spent most of our time in our PJ's. We did take a trip to the winery, that came with the cottage. Hope to get back there when it is autumn.

We loved your home! We stayed at the house with another couple and we had plenty of room for everyone. You stated we only had to bring our clothes and you were spot on with that. We didn't need anything as it was already there. It was like we were at our own home, but with a much better view. And what a view it was! It couldn't have been better. We have stayed at other homes, but never had so many kitchen items available to cook with - pans, dishes, and spices. We rate your home a A++. Even though it did rain during our entire visit, we decided we needed to relax more than doing some touring of the area. So we pulled out the games and puzzels and had a blast. Oh, we did manage to visit Crane Creek and loved it. We are already looking at a time we can come back. Thanks for all your help.
Owner response:Kay, We are thrilled that you found our home to be so accommodating! That's why we work so hard to keep it fully stocked and immaculately clean. Thank you for the lovely review & we hope you'll come back again when the weather is warm to enjoy the hummingbirds or in the fall to see the changing leaves! ~ Monica and Ed

Cecil & Anne - Lilburn, GA Monica & Ed Thanks for a wonderful few days. This was a great place to celebrate Cecil's birthday. The house is fantastic. We have stayed in a lot of different VRBO's in several states and this is definitely the best supplied and equipped we have stayed in. The view is magnificent. Thanks again for the birthday card. We had a great time and plan to come back again soon.
Owner response:Thank you Cecil and Anne for such a lovely review! We are so glad you enjoyed your time in our home and you are most welcome for the birthday card! We hope you'll come back again in the spring or summer to enjoy the warm weather! Hugs, Monica and Ed

Monica and Ed - My husband and I want to thank you so much for sharing your wonderful home with us Nov. 5-7th! Words cannot describe what a great experience we had. The weather was great and we enjoyed the incredible views. Your directions were perfect and we had no problem finding Bella Vista. The kitchen was stocked so that we didn't have to buy spices and condiments that we would only use once or twice. We've rented cottages and condos in Tennessee, Florida, and North Carolina and none could compare to yours! We felt like we were staying at a friend's house. We regret that we stayed only 2 nights. Bella Vista was our first stop on our week long journey throughout North Georgia, South Carolina and North Carolina and the rest of the accomodations, while very nice, did not live up to Bella Vista. You spoiled us! We hope to get back to your area again one day. When we do, we plan to rent Bella Vista for the entire time and make day trips from there. Again, thanks so much for your hospitality! Pam and Clay
Owner response:Pam, Thank you for choosing Bella Vista. We are so glad you loved it! Hope you'll come back again in the summertime to enjoy the warmth of the mountains! ~Monica and Ed

My husband and I really enjoyed the time spent at your vacation home. The accomodations were fantastic and the views and fall leaves were beautiful. We enjoyed the birds and time relaxing. Thank you so much for the recommendation for The Copper Door restaurant in Hayesville. It was perfect for birthday celebration. Food and service were excellent. We love thiis area and hope to reserve again sometime in next year. Thank you again for sharing and for all of the helpful info.

My husband and I stayed three nights at Bella Vista to celebrate our 7th Wedding Anniversary and the one comment I cannot emphasize enough is that three nights was not time enough to enjoy this remarkable place that Monica and Ed have created. They told us we would have an amazing experience and we believe that we had one of the most relaxing, wonderful anniversaries we have ever had in their home. We are very thankful that they share Bella Vista with others because personally I am not sure if could have a special place like this that I called home and could share it with others to enjoy! It is truly a place of comfort and you can tell by the moment you walk into the house that Monica and Ed have placed a lot of love into building a home that is very special in every way. The house is very clean, well- organized, stocked with everything you could possibly need and when Monica said “we could show up with just our clothes and not have to worry about anything else “ it’s really true! The communication we received from them was superb and we have rented a house every year on VBRO for Florida for family vacations so we have houses to compare the to. The information provided before and during the trip ( pamphlets and informational guides in the house) helped Steve and I plan what we wanted to do in the three nights. We rented a Pontoon Boat at Boundary Water Resort that Monica recommended and the lake trip was one of the best adventures. Lake Chatuge is incredible. The view at Crane Creek Winery is fascinating and the wine is even better- very thankful for the complimentary wine tasting coupons. The geese and two winery dogs that keep you company were a sight to see. The view you wake up to in the morning is breathtaking and the fact that my husband and I were able to indulge in the view, sounds and sightseeing of the hummingbirds everywhere was just remarkable plus the time we spent together basking in it all will be memories we can hold onto for a life time. We needed the relaxation with a toddler running around everywhere and Bella Vista is just what we needed to feel renewed all over again. Thank you Monica and Ed for everything. We will definitely highly recommend this rental to all of our friends and we will be returning next year for more fun! Steve and Misty
Owner response:We are so thrilled that you two had such a wonderful time in our home! We love being a part of special memories, and we can't wait for you to come back again! Thank you also for such a glowing review! :o) Monica and Ed

Monica and Ed, We once again loved your mountain retreat. The views are breathtaking. The breeze feels a little crisper and the air a little fresher than the valley. I cannot wait to visit your mountain retreat again. The cottage is immaculate, warm, and intimate. This was our second visit...looking forward to our third!
Owner response:SO happy you called to reserve your second visit & that everything was as you remembered. We look forward to your visit being an annual one! :o) Thanks again!

We had such a special time at Bella Vista, the hummingbird haven! This was our first family vacation in a long time. Monica and Ed made it so easy to move right in, feel at home, relax, and enjoy a variety of things to do in the area. We can not wait to go back!
Owner response:We can't wait to HAVE you back, and your parents too! Thank you so much! Monica and Ed

Our family had such a wonderful time at Bella Vista! We picked wild blackberries at the edge of the yard and thanks to the well-stocked kitchen were able to make a homemade cobbler for dessert. We fished in Lake Chatuge, played games and watched movies, even rented a boat to spend a day of fun on the water. This retreat is just that, a place to renew, reconnect and relax - no neighbors in site, except a rascally raccoon and some lovely hummingbirds. If you're looking for beautiful and peaceful - you'll find it at Bella Vista. Thanks for sharing your slice of heaven with us!

Monica was a delight to deal with. She was very responsive and easy to keep in communication with throughout our planning. The cabin was wonderful, the view absolutely spectacular. And they ordered new porch furniture so that will make it even more delightful. Everything was very welcoming-even some margarita mix to enjoy! The directions to the cabin were spot on and the drive up to the top was very nice. It is just 15-20 minutes to town, so the location is very convenient for food and restaurants. And there are several marinas close by for water activities. For a nice private getaway it is a winner!
Owner response:Thank you so much for your wonderful review and for being flexible and helpful with the delivery of the new patio furniture. :o) We hope the wedding was wonderful and do come back again to enjoy the colors of fall or the first blooms of springtime! Monica and Ed

This was a very last minute trip and Monica and Ed were so helpful - many thanks! The cottage was incredible and the views were amazing. We instantly felt right at home and the informative binders were very helpful - especially since we had had no time to research the area for things to do and such. The cottage was equipped with every comfort that your own personal home would have so it was easy to slip into relaxation mode. The porch and deck provides the perfect spots for sliding into a chair to share a bottle of wine (purchased at one of the local wineries, of course!) with loved ones and watch the sun set for the evening. We absolutely loved our time there and only wish we could have stayed longer!
Owner response:Thank you so much for such a wonderful, glowing review! We are so glad you could make your last-minute accommodations with us at Bella Vista and we hope you'll come back again, perhaps in the fall to see the changing leaves! Monica and Ed :o)

The house was beautiful, well decorated and spotlessly clean. The kitchen had everything you could possibly need to cook meals and the owners even provided some condiments There were plenty of towels and even shampoos, cream rinse and shower gel in the bathrooms. The view was amazing. My 9 month old grandson loved walking in his walker on the large deck around most of the house. We put bird seed out every morning on the deck and had many birds stop by for a bite. The house is centrally located so you can visit waterfalls, State parks and other places of interest. We went to Unicoi State Park for lunch and visited Anna Ruby Falls one day. We also drove to the Great Smokey Mountains National Park one day (about 1 1/2 hours away). Brasstown Bald Mountain is also very close. There is a nice grocery store (Ingles) 5-6 miles from the house and several restaurants in town. The owners were very responsive answering questions we had. My family really enjoyed our visit and hope to be able to visit again in the future.
Owner response:Thank you L & A for such a wonderful review! We are so glad you had such a nice time and shared so much of what you did with other potential guests! Hope you will come back again in the fall to see the changing colors of the leaves and enjoy the wonderful cool weather! ~Monica and Ed

Bella Vista exceeded our expectations. We have been coming to this area for several years, and have stayed at several different rental properties near Franklin and Highlands, NC. Our family has agreed that this cottage was our favorite. The home is located in a beautiful development close to both Hayesville, NC and Hiawasee, GA. Monica and Ed have done a superb job making sure their guest's needs are taken care of. All of the details were well thought out. The home is immaculate, well appointed, and feels new. You won't need to bring much, because the owners have thought of everything! We came to the area for the views, the quiet, and cooler weather. We found all this at Bella Vista, and enjoyed time spent sitting in front of the fireplace in the family room. My daughters loved the board games, and entertained themselves for hours. Cooking in the kitchen was a pleasure. My favorite experience at Bella Vista was waking up in the master loft and looking out the huge windows at the layers of mountains. We sure hope we're fortunate to come back again in the summer-hopefully for a month!
Owner response:Oh my goodness Lisa and Leon, what a wonderful review! Thank you so much for sharing your experience. We sincerely hope you and your girls will come back again, perhaps in the warmer weather next summer! Happy New Year to you! ~Monica and Ed :o)

We thoroughly enjoyed our week at Bella Vista in Hayesville, NC, over Thanksgiving week in 2010. They have a really wonderful place with an outstanding view! The cabin is extremely well stocked and has everything anybody would need. Just bring your clothes. Food is no problem....there are good (great) restaurants in the area and the local grocery chain--Ingle's---is well stocked in the likes of Publix or Harris Teeter (if you don't live in the southeast you're probably clueless now...sorry!). We have stayed at many other cabins in the mountains of Western NC but Bella Vista was the best. As North Carolinians, one of us from Asheville, we highly recommend Bella Vista to anyone. As an aside, the weather was warm enough that we were able to rent a boat and spend a day on the lake. That's not something we would normally do in WNC in late November. That TODO is something I would recommend to anyone.....no experience is necessary-----but plenty of fun.
Owner response:Bob and Carolyn, We are SO glad you enjoyed your time at Bella Vista. Thank you for taking such good care of our home -- we are grateful for that, and we hope you'll come back to stay at Bella Vista another time! :o) Monica and Ed

Peaceful and refreshing are the first two words that come to mind when I think of Monica and Ed's place. I really needed some time away from my demanding job, and in the mountains at this gorgeous cozy cottage was just what the doctor ordered. The cottage is absolutely beautiful and meticulously cared for. If you are like me these are a must in accomadations. I have told all of my family and friends about Monica and Ed's place. The drive up and back down the mountains were a part of the experience. The view from the large windows in the cottage are enough to make you thank God for such a beautiful creation. I will definately be back during a fall vacation. This was an August vacation, so a relief from the heat in Florida was a welcome change. Monic and Ed have done everything in their cottage to make you have a vacation that you will always cherish.

My husband and I were looking for a place to rest and enjoy each other's company after his most recent deployment. I went searching on VRBO.com and contacted Monica when I saw the gorgeous pictures of her and her husband's home. Monica was so sweet, caring and helpful through the whole process. We already felt blessed by the experience even before arriving at the cottage! When the week finally arrived, we found their home was beautiful, clean, well-stocked, with the amazing views. We had the perfect combination of rest and activity. We did many of the wonderful activities that their surroundings had to offer, but also took huge chunks of time to just sit and read on the porch. Overall, the experience was wonderful and we very much recommend Bella Vista!
Owner response:Rachel we are so thrilled that you and Rob had such a wonderful time at Bella Vista. We feel so blessed to have this home to share with others. We are especially grateful to you both for your sacrifices and service to our country. ~Monica (and Ed)
