Lucy and her husband were gracious host's to me and my family. There apartment setup was like a home away from home. Lucy surprised with a baked goody(banana pudding). Mary Baily provided our awesome catering. Blue crabs, fried fish, fried shrimp, and mac/cheese. Lucy also arranged private tours for Reynold's mansion and light house for our family. This trip is great for history bluffs and those who like to venture off of the popular beach paths. Special feature was wifi because of lack of cell service. You will need a wifi phone to make calls or surf .

Lucy's place is very comfortable, peaceful, and has everything you need. She is a gracious host-- not intrusive but offers great suggestions to explore the island. The bikes are in good condition and having access to the vehicle is useful, as her place is a couple miles from the beaches. We had a great stay, and will be back.

My husband and I visited for a weekend and wished that we had much longer to stay enjoy the peace and relaxion of this peaceful island. We really enjoyed talking to Lucy and her husband about the history there! They are wonderful host! We enjoyed the bikes that they had there for the guest to use also. They even had a vehicle for us so that we could see the island. We hope to get back there before too long, great place! The ferry ride over was neat too!

I just spent the most relaxing, stress free three days at Sapelo Island. Days were spent biking the island and soaking up the sun on Cabretta beach. People there are so friendly, reminds me of the days when everyone looked out for each other. Lucy and Mike were awesome hosts. Lucy went out of her way to make sure I had everything I needed and even introduced me to to some of her friends. She arranged for a tour of the mansion and made arrangments for me to eat at Lula's Kitchen, something that you really need to do if at all possible. I went alone and loved the peacefulness of the island. I wish I could do this once a month, it certainly helps to clear the cobwebs.

Just returned from a fabulous holiday on Sapelo Island. Beautiful beaches, good fishing, great shelling, wildlife watching and LOTS of peace and quiet. Cabretta Beach was by far our favorite place. Lucy and Mike are wonderful hosts and go out of their way to make sure you enjoy your time here. If your looking for fancy restaurants, crazy nightlife and people watching this is not the place for you, but if you want to get away from it all, you have found paradise here. The apartment was very nice and well furnished. Thank you Lucy and Mike for a fabulous time! We can't wait to come back.

We spent 3 nights on Sapelo in May. What a peaceful, relaxing vacation. The beaches are gorgeous and we had them all to our selves. If you want to get away and relax - this is the perfect place to vacation. Lucy was a wonderful host and made sure we had everything we needed.

Too bad there wasnt a SIX star rating-This place would deserve it. A beautiful island and great, gracious hosts. The apartment was spotless, well stocked with everything you needed and having the old "jimmy" to get around made it perfect. Lucy was a joy to deal with from the beginning, and Lucy and her husband Mike made a few of our evenings unforgetable. We celebated our thirty seventh anniversary while we were there and from the cake Lucy baked to the guitar playing/singing by Mike, we've not enjoyed ourselves that much in a long time. The people of the island were very sweet and charming, and if you get a chance, stop and talk with as many as possible. And lunch with Lula and George is a MUST if they're around. All in all , come with an open mind, and a real sense of adventure, and if you dont have a good time then it's your own fault.
