Escape to the beach and enjoy vacationing in our charming condo along the Emerald Coast of the Florida Panhandle. Watch the surf and seagulls from your balcony overlooking the sparkling blue/green waters of the Gulf of Mexico.
Located toward the West End of Okaloosa Island, in Ft. Walton Beach, Florida Vista Del Mar is close to miles of natural beach preserved and undeveloped. In addition to this incredible location and breathtaking views, our vacation rental is nicely furnished offering a simple, yet quaint, retreat to the beach. Visitors love the simplicity and being in a smaller complex like ours, away from the crowds in highrises.
Enjoy easy beach access from our ground floor accommodation. You will enjoy the beach service that is provided during your stay in season. Having an umbrella and chairs is nice for those all day beach days.
When you are not on the beach, here are a few other things that might interest you...
Main Street in Ft. Walton Beach offers unique shopping and dining along the main strip of Ft. Walton. You will find Coca-Cola memorabilia, adorable children’s clothes, souvenirs to take back home and more. Check out the bistro on the corner, their food is wonderful.
The Gulfarium is a great way to spend part of your day. The dolphin shows are almost continuous & you can also visit all sorts of marine life such as seals, sea lions, sharks, alligators, penguins and more.
One of my favorite things to do is going parasailing. Sun Dogs parasailing on Okaloosa Island offers this service for the area. The views are wonderful & the ride is exhilarating.
Visit the Okaloosa Island Fishing Pier. The pier is 1262 ft long and has an octagon at the end so everyone has plenty of room to fish. If you are not in to fishing you can enjoy wonderful sunsets at the pier and also get a chance to see dolphins. If you didn't bring your rod & reel, don't worry, you may rent one there.

Our unit has a fully equipped kitchen for preparing meals. However, if you do choose to dine out you will have several choices.
*Old Bay Steamer is our favorite, They specialize in steamed seafood by the bucket full. Pasta & steaks are also offered on the menu
* The original Fudpuckers Bar & Grill is located on the Island. Since 1986, it has been a favorite for visitors & locals alike. The younger ones will enjoy the playground & everyone will enjoy the live music.
* For the best pizza on the Island head over to Helen Back. For dining in, choose the back patio with a view of the sound.
*Los Panchos Mexican Restaurant is beside Helen Back on Amberjack Drive. They offer take out too for those long days on the beach
* Pandoras Pandora’s Steakhouse offers steak, seafood & prime rib with a Wine Spectator award winning wine list.
Destin, Florida is only a few miles away if you would like to visit there too..
Shop til you drop at The Silver Sands Outlet Mall. They house over 100 stores. When you are ready for lunch go to to Cheeseburger in Paradise and for dinner at the close of your day head to Carrabba's Italian Grill.
Great shopping, dining & entertainment can be found at the Destin Commons. Enjoy great stores such as Abercrombie & Fitch, Ann Taylor Loft, Banana Republic, Belk, Books-A-Million, Maui Nix Surf Shop and the Bass Pro Shop, to name a few. Enjoy the Hard Rock Café, Tony’s Ristorante or Sushi Siam for lunch & dinner. The Destin Commons Center Plaza offers a soft-play kids playground and a 49-head pop fountain as well as hosting community activities and entertainment throughout the year. Also at the Destin Commons, catch the latest releases at Rave Motion Pictures movie theater.
Baytowne Wharf at Sandestin Golf & Beach Resort offers wonderful dining and specialty stores as well as great festivals & events. The Green at the Market Shops of Sandestin also hosts events & activities along with great specialty shopping.
Big Kahuna’s Water Park is a favorite for the entire family. Spend a cool refreshing day enjoying the slides, lazy river & there newest attraction, the Honolulu Half Pipe. The Half Pipe is a mixture of surfing, body boarding & surf boarding. Take a break from the beach & spend the day a great day here.
Destin, Florida is known as the ”World’s Luckiest Fishing Village” and boasts being home to the largest fishing vessel fleet in the state of Florida. One of Destin’s many charter boats would love the opportunity to take you out for a full or half day excursion.
Water surrounds Destin with the intercoastal waterway to the north and Gulf on the south, creating an abundance of other water sport opportunities, including kayaking, wave running, parasailing, kite surfing, snorkeling and so much more!

The pictures did not do the inside justice. Very clean and new appliances and new dishes. Great location, was wonderful to be able to just walk out the front door and be on the beach. We had a very relaxing time and can not wait to come again. Southern Resorts management company was a joy to work with. It was great to be able to call them and they were always available to answer our questions.
Recommended for:Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children.
