Situated overlooking Hyde Park London W2: comfortable apartment building, 4 storeys, built in 1910, in the centre of London, on a main road. Lift inside the building from the ground to the third floor but four steps to access main floor outside the building. Furnished with antiques and old paintings but also new comfortable furniture and bed, it is a relaxing sanctuary after a long day sightseeing. There is a small video and DVD library in case there is nothing on the 40 digital channels to watch. 15 minutes walk to Heathrow Express at Paddington station - direct fast train to Heathrow in 15 minutes. Public car park at 500 m. Shop, grocers, shopping centre 300 m, restaurant, bar 200 m, bus stop 10 m, underground station "Marble Arch" 300 m. Indoor swimming pool 500 m, tennis 1 km, riding stables 500 m, ice rink 200 m.
The residence is situated immediately opposite Hyde Park which is lovely for walks, there is the Serpentine Lake, a restaurant and Speakers Corner. View of Hyde Park from the apartment. Perfect position right in the centre of London with easy access by bus or underground to all the sights. Sightseeing bus stop approx 400 m.
If you want to stay in an apartment that is a traditional old fashioned London home where you can walk to everything in central London, this is the flat for you. If you go out to the theatre one evening, you can even walk home in half an hour, depending upon which theatre. Fifteen minutes walk away is Paddington station where you can take trains to Oxford or further North. If you walk five minutes to Marble Arch tube you can get onto the circle line whch will take you to all the main train stations for getting out of the city. But right in front of the apartment is Hyde Park which will lead you to Kensington Palace, where the Princess of Wales lived, or Buckingham Palace where the Queen lives, and you never need to walk down a road, just trees and gardens the whole way.
You can walk across the park to Knightsbridge where there is Harrods, Harvey Nichols and the smartest shops in London on Sloane Street. The main London shopping street of Oxford Street begins two minutes walk away at Marble Arch and Speakers Corner. if you follow Oxford Street along to Oxford circus and tuen down Regent Street, you can visit the department stores of Libertys and Hamleys - the latter being the biggest toy shop in Britain. From there you can find your way to Piccadilly Circus and Leicester Square, where the half price ticket booth can get you into most of the West End shows.
