The Marais Central apartment is located in one of Paris’ most charming locations on the Rue de Bretagne and footsteps from the Marché des Enfants Rouges. Some of Paris’ finest cafés and restaurants, as well as the beautiful Place des Vosges are within minutes walk of the apartment in the heart of the historic Marais district.
The whole apartment has been redone from carpet to ceiling with new amenities, including a portable A/C unit. It perfectly combines the classic Parisian charm of high ceilings and exposed beam architecture with the comfort and style of modern furnishings and amenities.
On entering the living room, one is instantly struck by the immense light from the two large French windows, which give a real bright and airy feeling to the room.
Traditional beams teamed with superb wooden flooring give a real warmth and comfort to the room and one instantly feels at home here. The creams, browns and greys of the furnishings appear truly beautiful against the exquisite wooden flooring. This room contains everything from cable television to DVD player as well as an Ipod dock and the large and oh-so-cozy sofa converts into a double bed for extra guests.
The kitchen is open and is a pure delight to cook in. With the large markets at your doorstep full of fresh and exotic produce, you will very much enjoy cooking up that perfect French cuisine in this gem of a kitchen.
The bedroom is very inviting indeed. Decorated in warm tones and soft lighting, it is a perfect haven for a great night’s sleep. Overlooking a pretty little garden, this is a superb room for relaxing in.
The bathroom has been beautifully designed and the utmost care and attention to detail has been taken with this room. The room is very bright and contains a large shower cabinet, lavatory and sink.
This really is a gem of an apartment, enjoying space and light, full amenities and the charm of the pretty Marais district. An unforgettable stay in Paris is certainly guaranteed here!
Please note this is a fourth US floor, there is no elevator. The apartment is 37 square meters.

We had a wonderful time in the Marais Central apartment. The pastel decor and lots of windows made the place airy and bright - exactly as depicted on the website. The apartment is well-equipped. The compact kitchen includes all you need for preparing simple meals at home - if you don't choose one of the great local restaurants. (And the local markets - butcher, boulangerie, cheese shop, traiteurs, vegetable stands all make shopping for meals a delight.) The apartment is in a great location - several convenient Metro stations, lots of local restaurants, and easy walking distance to so much of Paris! And the booklet that Julie and Fabrice supplied was very helpful. We can definitely recommend a stay in their Marais apartment!Recommended for: Tourists without a car, sightseeing.

Stayed for a week at the end of May, the weather was poor (Springtime in Paris!) However the apartment was great, everything you need for a pleasant stay. Close to bakeries, markets, cafes etc. and within walking distance of the major Paris attractions. I would recommend.Recommended for: Age 55+, sightseeing.

We were delighted with this well appointed, comfortable, relatively quiet, light, spacious apartment. We've been to Paris many times, but the Marais was new to us. We were charmed with all the restaurants, shops, historic sites and especially the "feeling" for Paris available within easy walking range. For the first time ever, we never took the bus or the metro. The location and amenities made it easy to return to the apartment mid day for a quick rest or regrouping and then be ready for an afternoon of strolling, visiting, eating. We even walked home (20 min) after the ballet at Opera-Bastille! We will definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to our friends.Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, adventure seekers, tourists without a car.

Well, OK, spring time was a bit delayed this year. Nonetheless, we had an enjoyable week at the apartment. Everything is as represented in the listing. In fact, it's better - there's even a dishwasher which I had not realized! The neighbourhood is fascinating with all sorts of restaurants and small stores. There are three boulangeries within a street or two and a butcher right below the apartment. So we cooked for ourselves most nights but did try some of the local restaurants. Les Comptoirs de Carthage (27 rue de Picardie) is quirky but fun. We tried to stay away from the big tourist sites such as the Louvre, Tour d'Eiffel, Versailles. There are lots of smaller museums that are just as interesting and much less crowded. Musee Marmottan was our favourite (nr Bois de Boulogne).Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, tourists without a car, sightseeing.

My husband and I arrived in Le Marais by train (we had flown into Paris from the US a few days earlier and taken the train to Strasbourg for a few days) on a cold and snowy Monday after many months of grief. (His father had died unexpectedly during the summer.) Walking up old wooden steps, we opened the apartment door into a warm, exquisite little pocket of romance in Paris and smiled. Delightful details abounded - simple, but noticeably tasteful. The small kitchen was perfectly appointed for cooks and we found great pleasure in the challenges of cooking our meals using two burners. Every day, we looked forward to time spent visiting the collection of markets JUST OUTSIDE the door. There, we chose our cheeses, meats, fish, vegetables, fruits, chocolates, breads, pates, and our wines. One night, we needed more wine - my husband looked out the window to see if the wine shop was still open - it was - and he rushed across the street to see what our next wine should be. Most of the market men and women did not speak English, and this was fun, too! There was a lot of pointing and smiling. We enjoyed a beautiful snowstorm in Paris in March! And warmed ourselves with a drink in the cafes all along the street late at night after dinner. It was easy to find the metro stations - one day we had a cooking class in Montmartre and used the metro. Another day we rode to visit the Jacquemart-Andre Museum (opulent bling - gorgeous!) then walked down the Champs Elysees, then to the Eiffel Tower, and rode the metro back to Le Marais. Walking around Le Marais was a cinch - we visited the Carnavalet Museum - a new favorite! And one day we met our daughter to visit the Holocaust Memorial - a necessary heartbreaker. It was easy to walk to Notre Dame and Sainte Chapelle (my favorite). The neighborhoods and small streets of Le Marais are irresistable. The only thing that didn't work out is that our views to the gardens (as depicted in the pictures) from the bedroom and kitchen were blocked for now. I am a garden designer and when we travel, my husband often has to work a few hours, so it is nice if there is a separate room where I can also work and write. I hoped to sit by a window and write with a quiet view of a garden. But - Le Marais is a treasured area of Paris and there must always be some kind of restoration going on. Paris did not disappoint us, even with snow! This apartment was a great value and a lovely work of Parisian "heart" art. Just go!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, sightseeing.
Owner response: Thank you, thank you for such an adorable comment. You totally made our day. We're thrilled to read that you enjoyed our neighborhood and our little apartment so much. Once again, we're sorry the renovation of one side of the building prevented you from the view of the garden...It takes longer than planned, but that means the apartment will be even nicer, and that you will have to come back to enjoy it even more! We'll be happy to have you back. Julie and Fabrice

A beautiful apartment in a wonderful section of Paris. Everything you need within a short walk of your "home away from home". The photos and descriptions of the apartment are accurate and the apartment is fully furnished with everything you need to enjoy your stay (including a very helpful handbook written by the owners). I would recommend this apartment without hesitation. Great cafes, bakeries, street markets, and chocolate shops around every corner! My wife and I travel a lot, and have always stayed in hotels. I was a little hesitant about renting an apartment from a private owner, but was VERY pleased with the professionalism and efficiency of Julie & Fabrice. They responded to all of our questions quickly and were very helpful. The apartment is clean and all the appliances and fixtures are modern. We will definitely be back.Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, sightseeing.
Owner response: Thank you so much for your adorable and very complete testimonial ! We hope to see you back soon in Paris.

My wife, Kay and I are both senior citizens (70ish) who truly loved our stay in Marais Central. The apartment was exactly as described in pictures and accurately reflect the rental's appearance and amenities. Julie and/or Fabrice are wonderful owners who made sure that everything was in place for our stay. They even arranged a driver to pick us up at the airport. There are several metro stations within a four block radius that make it very easy to get anyplace in Paris. They have a very complete guide that will get you to the sights in the area as well as to excellent neighborhood restaurants. My wife loved visiting the many designer stores in the area. If we are fortunate to be able to visit Paris again we will stay at Marais Central and I will certainly suggest Marais Central to friends who will be visiting Paris. (I already have in fact)Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, sightseeing.
Owner response: Thank you so much for your nice review ! We hope to have you back in Marais central apartment. F & J

What can we say about this apartment that hasn't already been said? We LOVED the apartment and the mere fact that it is located in a perfect place in Marais. Just steps from the grocery store, bakery, butcher shop, a fabulous cheese store, flower shop, fish store and restaurants!! A couple of Metro stations were all within close walking distance. We were also extremely appreciative of Julie and Fabrice's informational booklet. It contained all of the information that a "first time" traveler would need to navigate around Paris. My husband and I highly recommend this apartment and would definitely rent it again in a heart beat! A million thanks to Julie and Fabrice for having a wonderful, clean and well furnished apartment!!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, girls getaway, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, sightseeing.
