This is a great apartment in a great location inside Paris. It's spotless with a nice bathroom, a "tourist-duty" kitchen, dining table and a comfy couch and bed The location is in a very parisian part of Paris - not many tourists. The area is alive with a butcher, Charcouterie, bakery, fruit stand, mini-grocery, wine seller, the market and busy cafes all just about out the door. The Republic Metro stop is close by - a great stop where 5 lines intersect so you can get just about everywhere easily. The owner is well organized and getting in worked perfectly. And the notebook they put together with recommendations and info is great. We don't have a single complaint and we'd book it again in a heartbeat...

I love this Apt. It is "CLEAN" and roomy. Julie left all the information you may need in a nice folder. Right down stair is everything you need. From fruit stand to the grocery store. This is our first time renting an apt. Great experience it is. The metro is not far from this place. The people are wonderful. We had several nice dinner at the cafe below. I love this apt. and sure to be back very soon. Thanks Julie for sharing your apt. with us.

A perfect stay

The apartment was absolutely perfect and everything ran smoothly, from booking and payment to the entire stay. Plus, the apartment was truly adorable. The kitchen was modern and had everything thing you needed to make meals. And it was certainly ideal to cook, too, since there was an organic market right outside as well as a produce stall, fromagerie, boulangerie, etc. The neighborhood seemed very Parisian rather and touristy, and I felt safe and comfortable the whole time. Julie and Fabrice also provided guidebooks and a binder filled with helpful information. I will certainly stay here again. Thanks for everything!

The Marais Central apartment was a joy! It was everything that the listing description described. The apartment was clean and well maintained, centrally located and thoughtfully equipped.The owner thought of everything—giving wonderful recommendations for shopping, restaurants and activities in the area. Located close to several metro lines, it was an easy base from which to explore the city. I would definitely return!

The apartment is beautiful - light filled and more than enough space for 2 -3 people. It is very quiet, clean, the bed very comfortable. We enjoyed the window seat looking out on Rue Bretagne. Great neighborhood with everything you'd need close by, and easy walking distance to Notre Dame and central Paris. We look forward to returning!

Wonderful apartment

My husband and I recently stayed in the apartment for our honeymoon in Paris. The apartment is exactly as it looks in the photos and is very well equipped. The location cannot be beat - walking distance to Notre Dame, Bastille, Centre Pompidou and even the Louvre. There are a number of Metro stations nearby and there are many specialty shops right outside the front door. I would highly recommend this location for anyone looking for a good alternative to a hotel in Paris!

The Marais Center Apartment is even better than described. I could live there forever! The owners are marvelous and the apartment was impeccable clean and supplied with everything you would ever need while on holiday. The bright apartment with windows that open to the best neighborhood in Paris is beyond expectations. Simply beautiful! I can't say enough...I LOVED it!

We stayed at this apartment in the Marais the last week in June and found it wonderful in every respect. The apartment is roomy and bright and it's high enough up that it stays quiet even when the street below is bustling with activity. We experienced some very hot weather and the apartment stayed comfortable - we never turned on the air conditioner. The bathroom is great - beautiful shower, even a towel warmer. The bed is comfortable. Everything feels fresh and clean. We loved that it was non-smoking. We felt very secure in the building. Julie and Fabrice have provided a book full of helpful suggestions on every conceivable subject, including a list of local restaurants with comments. And when we had a question, they were quick to help. When we walked out the door, we were right in the middle of a lively neighborhood, with every convenience within steps. The apartment is located centrally enough that we could walk anywhere, but there were also several metro stops nearby. We couldn't have been happier with our stay.

BAD EXPERIENCE

We had a bad experience in this apartment. When we arrived we had no towels to take a shower. The announcement says it has air conditioning which is not true. There is a portable device to cool the atmosphere but no air conditioning. The day after our arrival we had a problem with the plumbing of the toilet so we had to move to a hotel. Nous avons eu une mauvaise expérience dans cet appartement. Quand nous sommes arrivés nous avons pas eu de serviettes pour prendre une douche. L'annonce indique qu'il dispose de la climatisation ce qui n'est pas vrai. Il y a un appareil portatif pour refroidir l'atmosphère, mais pas de climatisation. Le lendemain de notre arrivée nous avons eu un problème avec la plomberie de la toilette, nous avons dû déménager dans un hôtel.

Owner response:We were and are still sorry that this guest was not satisfied with our apartment. The towels were in the dryer because the formers guests had just left the apartment, which was not a surprise. There were extra towels in the closet, ready to use. The air conditioning is a portable A/C as in the description. All other guests find the apartment cool enough and easy to air with 5 windows and a fan, and the unit is efficient enough to bring the temperature down to 26 degrees, which is what is recommended. The "plumbing problem" was a cloged plug and it was solved in 5 minutes (in fact, it was solved before the taxi arrived to pick up these guests who decided not to stay). You probably noticed that this review is the only negative review we received in three years. I must take advantage of this to say that although the savvy travel option is staying in apartment rentals, it is obviously not for everyone. For those that require daily service, 24/7 room service on hand, a hotel is the only option. For those willing to swap some daily services for the convenience of having your own home away from home, Paris apartment rentals offer many advantage. We, the owners, are 15 minutes away and always there to solve any problem that can, of course, occur, despite all precautions that we take. Those guests could not have been satisfied with anything else that full reimbursement, which is what they got. To sum up, I will use a French expression I find quite appropriate here: On peut choisir de voir le verre à moitié vide, ou à moitié plein.

From the moment my friend and I arrived in this gorgeous apartment we felt at home. The information provided for the area and everything we may have needed for our stay (English speaking taxi service, English speaking doctor) was provided by Fabrice. The apartment was close to everything, the metro, fabulous restaurants and the heart of the Marais. I really cannot sing enough praises for this place. When I return in the near future I will definatley be booking again to stay here. Fabrice did everything to make us feel comfortable, and the fresh flowers on the table were gorgeous.

From arrival to departure this apartment was Outstanding! Everything was just as promised and we thoroughly enjoyed the Marais neighborhood, restaurants, shops and stores. Fabrice and Julie are terrific hosts and provide great information on the apartment, neighborhood and things to do. All of the equipment, furnishings and supplies are in great shape, work and function properly. The photos accurately depict the apartment and provide all the information required. This is a great place for a couple and is plenty large to accomodate both sleeping, eating or just hanging out and taking it easy. We highly recommend this apartment.

Beyond Perfection!

I spent the entire month of May in the Marais Central apartment. It was absolutely beautiful, even better than the pictures. It really is the perfect location. A very lively residential street, yet still quiet in the evenings. Plenty of cafes that serve well into the night and great boutiques for shopping in the immediate area. Make sure to visit Jacques Genin's Chocolaterie (five minute walk north from the apt.) for the best caramels in the world. I can't wait to come back to Paris!

My brief sojourn in Paris was made perfect in this apartment. Fabulous location, and wonderful neighbours (I even had a lovely man assist with my luggage on the way out - safe to say it was significantly heavier on departure). Beautiful restaurants and bars just a short stroll, and a lovely walk down to the Seine. Owners, Fabrice & Julie were the most gracious hosts, and the apartment was true to description. I felt that I had my own little piece of Paris during my stay & would have chosen this over a posh hotel room any day. Thank you so much Fabrice, I will definitely be back to stay in the near future. Marais Central in Paris

This apartment is conveniently located close to grocerie stores, bakery, banks (across the street), good restaurants, metro, and historical buildings. Yet it is very clean, quiet, and very tastefully decorated and cozy. The mini open market is right next to it too. We really love our stay there and it has everything we needed. Fabrice and Julie look after every details are so helpful by providing tons of info about the neighborhood, transportation, restaurants and for many other important stuff. I love the fact that it has a washer/dryer unit and free long distance phone call since our cell phone did not work. Will definitely come back and recommend to our friends and relatives. I love everything about Paris and especially our apartment, but wish that the city would limit smoking so people with asthma or respiratory problem would not suffer.

You can't do better than this apartment for experiencing Paris. It is excellently located for walking anywhere, and several metro stations are within a few minutes walking distance. The neighborhood is quintessentially Parisian, offering any type market items you wish. We decided to forgo dinners out in favor of picking up wonderful food at the markets on several days, and cooking in the apartment. The open-air market behind the apartment offers several varieties of freshly-made cuisine, and the butcher shop outside the front door has rotisserie chicken that is fantastic. The apartment itself is exactly as described on the website, with completely up-to-date appliances, lovely decor, very comfortable bed and more room than we found in other apartments we considered. The owner provides comprehensive information on the apartment's amenities, as well as local tourist guides. We would recommend this apartment for anyone, and will definitely stay again should we return to Paris.

This was our fifth visit to Paris and each time we have rented an apartment In the Marais, a neighborhood we have grown to love. This trip was exceptional, and made so by our stay at the Marais Central Apartment. It was as advertised and so much more. Sitting above the Rue de Bretagne in a chair next to the tall windows felt as it we were in our own street side cafe watching Paris walk by. As restauranteurs and chefs the location was perfect. Almost too many choices. We look forward to a return visit.

Just a note to say how much we adored staying in your beautiful Marais Apartment. The location was superb within walking distance to transport and sights. And it was always lovely to return to 'our' warm and comfortable apartment after a day of sightseeing. Everything was so clean, practical and beautiful. Paris is such a wonderful city and we hope to return. Of course our first choice would be to stay at Marais Central. Unless we return with our 3 teenage daughters and we will then be asking for your recommendation for a bigger apartment!

Charming Place/Great Location!

My husband and I rented the Marais Apartment for a week for part of our honeymoon stay in Europe. Although it was horribly rainy during our trip the apartment was a welcome respite when we returned each evening. The apartment is exactly how it is depicted in the photos! The bed was very comfortable, the bathroom and kitchen are both small but very clean and the free wi-fi and international calls were very helpful! My husband and I had a fabulous time on our recent two-week vacation in Paris. None of it have been half so memorable if we had not stayed in this lovely apartment on a most charming Marais street. The apartment had everything we needed and more --electric tea kettle, i-pod dock, hairdryer, bath towel warmer and many excellent guidebooks for ideas on walking tours and restaurants. We loved looking out at the street activity through the lovely French windows. The collection of nearby food shops was unbeatable, on our street and in the nearby covered market. We could walk to the Pompidou, Notre Dame, Rue de Rosiers and so many fascinating places. The owners were always very prompt in getting back to us and very pleasant to work with. We will definitely choose this apartment again next time.

Great Parisian Experience

We have just returned from a week staying at the Marais Central apartment. It was fabulous. A great location - just a short walk to Place des Vosges and the wonderful Carnavalet Museum and close to two Metro stations - giving us a choice depending on where we were going. In fact you could walk to most major Paris tourist sites: the Opera Bastille, the Louvre and the Pompidou Centre to name a few. It was very generous of Julie and Fabrice to provide free internet and telephone access. The apartment is extremely quiet with effective double glazed windows but Rue de Bretagne is a relatively quiet street anyway. The view down to the street is typically Parisian and romantic, especially at night - just delightful. This is a part of Paris that has few of the tourist hordes found elsewhere - we really felt like local residents. The boulangerie just a few doors down was a continual source of temptation and the charming little market next door was so convenient. We agree with the other comment about the annoying kitchen tap and the need for a full length mirror in the bedroom. A cutting board would have been useful as well. But these are minor issues - the decor and quality of fit-out was excellent and just as described. It was such a welcoming apartment after a tiring day of sightseeing. We will certainly stay in this apartment next time we are in Paris and will be recommending it to our friends.

Outstanding accommodation in Le Marais

My wife and I spent two weeks here in late-September 2010. We found the Marais Central accommodation to be, quite simply, perfect. The location is ideal, with everything you might need on hand, from a fantastic boulangerie (La Fougasse) to an excellent charcuterie (right across the road) and cafes galore. The description of the apartment on this website matched the apartment itself in every detail. A welcome addition to the apartment not mentioned on the website is a library of travel guidebooks and a handy French phrasebook. The handbook prepared by Julie and Fabrice to introduce you to the apartment and the neighbourhood was SO helpful - they really have thought of everything. The property was clean, comfortable and homely and the housekeeping provided midway through our stay was spot-on. Fabrice was friendly and very helpful, alerting us to an upcoming national strike which would affect our travel plans. That was much appreciated. We spent so much time seeing Paris on foot (the only way to do it!) which meant that we were often tired by the evening. Even so, it felt just delightful to come home to this apartment, to put our feet up, and enjoy some Bordeaux, camembert and a crusty baguette. We'll miss staying at Marais Central and will definitely, definitely try and stay here again the next time we're in Paris. We're torn between telling everyone about it (because it's so good!) and keeping it to ourselves (so that we can enjoy it!) Thanks Julie and Fabrice. Perfect Parisian Pied-à-Terre

It is rare when your high expectations are not only met, but exceeded. This was the case with the Marais Central apartment owned by Julie and Fabrice. The apartment was the perfect base for our week in Paris. The apartment was even lovelier than the photos, and had everything we could need. The neighborhood was wonderful, eclectic, and felt very safe - it was full of produce stands, cheese shops, butchers, and markets to get everything that we needed for our stay. It was so nice to be able to use the phone to call home and the internet access was very handy. We heartily recommend this delightful apartment, it will give you a little piece of home in a big city.

A Paris Dream Vacation

We couldn't have been more thrilled with the Marais Central. The location is ideal for stay in a lively Paris neighbourhood, with every kind of shop, a farmers' market, cafes and restaurants of all types within a couple of square blocks, and enough off the tourist track to get the feel of genuine Paris life. The metro is close but you can walk to much of the Paris sights and explore a great area right around you. Be sure to have a drink at the Cafe Charlot on the corner --the see-and-be-seen spot in the neighbourhood on a sunny afternoon for 'happy hour'. The apartment is lovely, with everything needed for a relaxing stay (and good for the legs with the stair climb). Great kitchen and bathroom, comfortable bed, wireless, laundry, dishwasher, safe and clean, and a very handy booklet of information. Pay no heed to the worn condition of the stairwell/entry. That's just part of the charm of old Paris buildings. The apartments are all refinished (we saw a couple of doors open) and the neighbours are very friendly. We spent two weeks here in May, and would absolutely book it again if we are lucky enough to return to Paris someday. We were sad to leave. Excellent value and amenities for a long stay, and couldn't imagine staying in a hotel instead. Thank you Julie and Fabrice for making our holiday such a treat. Your quick responses, flexibility and letting us book so far in advance took the pressure off planning. We have definitely been recommending you to our family and friends who are planning their own Paris holidays.

A Wonderful Location & Apartment

My wife and I spent a week walking Paris with this apartment as our base at the end of February 2010. We did not experience any other section of Paris we would rather have had as our base. It was a great value and a perfect location. Every kind of shop you could want for bread, wine, cheese, clothes, shoes, pastries, you name it was two blocks away at the most and many across the street. We are in our mid 60s and the fourth floor walk up was OK. Do not be alarmed by the entrance or the stairwell. They may be typical but they are crummy. But we still rate this place a 5 and will probably try to book it next February.

The apartment itself was perfect

This is the third consecutive year that I have rented an apartment for my annual Paris business trip - and was by far my best experience yet. The apartment itself was perfect: quiet surroundings, high ceilings, nice furnishings, large windows opening up to a beautiful street scene below, convenient kitchen, nice bathroom and shower, comfortable bed, and all the amenities of home. The high-speed internet, free international phone, and cable television were all very much appreciated. Everything was actually better than I expected. The surrounding area is both safe and convenient to transportation, restaurants, and a variety of local shops and stores. Finally, the rental rate was a very good value compared to other apartments that I have rented, and compared to local hotel rates. My only regret is that my wife couldn't join me so that we could share this beautiful and romantic apartment together.

As for our recent stay at this apartment I would like to say that it was great. The apartment is absolutely beautiful and couldn´t be more comfortable. I thought that maybe I was going to find something different, but it´s just as you see it in the pictures and more!!! Besides, the location is just wonderful. We had everything at our reach. It´s a lovely neighbourhood to walk, shop, have dinner...just GREAT. Wouldn´t change a thing. And most definitely would go back any time!!!! I reccomend it 100% !!!!

A home in the Marais

We had a wonderful time in the Marais Central apartment. The pastel decor and lots of windows made the place airy and bright - exactly as depicted on the website. The apartment is well-equipped. The compact kitchen includes all you need for preparing simple meals at home - if you don't choose one of the great local restaurants. (And the local markets - butcher, boulangerie, cheese shop, traiteurs, vegetable stands all make shopping for meals a delight.) The apartment is in a great location - several convenient Metro stations, lots of local restaurants, and easy walking distance to so much of Paris! And the booklet that Julie and Fabrice supplied was very helpful. We can definitely recommend a stay in their Marais apartment!

The apartment was spacious, clean and modern. It was conveniently located to Metro and to a lot of great restaurants and the nightlife of the Marais. The apartment has wireless internet and free international calling to the US which made it easy to contact friends and family at home. It had a very home-like feeling and was very comfortable. Brayden, USA, June 2009 We enjoyed the cleanliness and layout of the aparment. It felt very modern in terms of it decoration and arrangement. It had everything we needed and more. The movie selection was great as we, on a nightly basis, would watch a film which was related to the location we attended that day (ex, we watched DaVinci Code after visiting the Louvre). The kitchen was well equiped and food preparation was both fun and easy. Overall, the apartment was everything we dreamt it would be. It was clean, quiet, and comfortable; it felt like home. The location could not be beat. The first night we actually walked for Marais to the Eiffel Tower (it took a few hours but was well worth it). The Metro line at Temple and Republique made transportation very efficent. We were able to visit Versailles using the Metro and RER. Getting to the airport was extremely easy as well. The area surrounding the apartment was romantic, quaint, and exactly what one would hope to experience while in Paris. The street, with all its interesting cafes, shops, and convience stores made walking around the neighbourhood extremely enjoyable. Our stay in Paris could not have been what it was had we not stayed at Marais Central. We do not hesitate to recommend it to friends and family interested in travelling to Paris and would without a doubt, stay there when we return to Paris.

We had a wonderful stay at this apartment. The location was great for us, because we especially like the Marais and the restaurants nearby. We felt like home and the apartment was very well equipped. What a big and nice bathroom! We stayed in a hotel in Paris one time before and it was not possible to move between the bed, the bathroom and the door.We don´t have to criticize anything - we would definitely recommend the apartment to our friends and we are sure that we will come back!

We really enjoyed staying in the apartment. Our Paris trip was amazing, and the apartment was one of the main reasons. The layout of the apartment was wonderful, and the design was aesthetically pleasing. We enjoyed the stocked kitchen, loved the washer/dryer, and dishwasher. Bathroom was so clean and nice. The view from both the living room and bedroom were great. And we didn't need the air conditioning - the apartment stayed cool throughout the day and night. Overall, it was a beautiful, well-stocked apartment. The location was better than we could have expected. It was so central, the neighborhood was fabulous, and the restaurants nearby were great. We also appreciated the binder full of useful information. You were right - we could have spent our entire vacation in that neighborhood, there was so much to see and do, and so many places to eat and relax. Thank you for sharing your apartment with us. It was truly a fabulous experience!

Authentic Parisian Neighborhood

The day I arrived Julie was in the hospital having her second baby. Clearly she and Fabrice had a few things to think about other than an arriving guest for their apartment rental. Still, the apartment was ready for me, and it looked exactly like the many photos on VRBO. I spent 8-1/2 wks. in this lovely, comfortable one-bedroom unit in 2009 (April and May) and truly enjoyed not only the apartment but the entire neighborhood. The living area was bright and spacious with a large dining table that I used for my computer, etc., the room thoughtfully stocked with DVDs (I watched all of them) and books, + coat hooks at the entry. The bathroom was modern, the kitchen equipped for when I often cooked in (i.e., a salad spinner, a mixer which I did use--but watch the kitchen window as it can release from the hinges). The bedroom was cozy with a terrifically comfortable bed (and night shades), very quiet at night. Engaging views of r. de Bretagne at the front and a potager garden and Le Marché Enfants Rouge from the kitchen and bedroom. You will find a big well-thought-out welcome binder of information that Julie compiled to orient, instruct, suggest. It was here I found her insider's recommendations of restaurants, some I would never had known about otherwise. I found myself very much at home--multiple times--at the Coca Café. Another section I found particularly useful addressed the internet connection. France connections can be prickly, and when this happened, I followed Julie's step-by-step protocol, and violà, reconnected. The flights of stairs (no elevator--but I avoid those anyway except for transporting my groceries) were challenging when I carried a six-pack of liter water bottles and three sacks of groceries, and while it proved I'm not 30 anymore this kept me in shape. I have spent much time in Paris in the last few years and have walked and walked the city, every arrondisement. This upper section of the 3rd offers a lively, pleasant, less touristy, more Parisian experience as well as conveniences like a Monoprix, post office, pharmacie, good green grocers, boulangeries, cafés, shops, Square de Temple, metro stops. Lastly, Julie, and Fabrice, were friendly and exceptionally responsive (e-mail) when I had une question ou un petit problème. I would add just a couple of things to the apartment: a full-length mirror and a clothes hook in the bedroom, a couple of small non-serrated kitchen knives, and a reworking of the kitchen faucet.

Geschmackvoll und Superlage

Die kleine Wohnung ist perfekt aufgeteilt und sehr geschmackvoll und gut eingerichtet. Perfekt für 2 Personen! Supergepflegt! (Nicht abschrecken lassen von dem renovierungsbedürftigen Treppenhaus!) Eine bessere Lage in Paris können wir uns kaum vorstellen: Mitten im Marais, man fühlt sich nicht wie in einem Touristen-, sondern in einem sehr pariserischen Viertel. Geschäfte, Märkte, Restaurants - einfach alles ist in unmittelbarer Nähe! 3. Stock, absolut machbar auch für Ältere, und man schläft ruhig und bequem nach hinten heraus. Schriftliche Infos des Vermieters sehr ausführlich, ansonsten anonym. Wir haben das rive droite von der Wohnung aus per pedes erkundet - was will man mehr?

Nous avons séjourné dans ce magnifique appartement en octobre 2008.....j'écris cette revue un peu tard mais je n'avais plus pensé de le faire. Nous avons trouvé cet appartement très bien situé, à proximité de plusieurs commerces ainsi que le marché, il y a d'excellents restos dans les alentours. La rénomvation de cet appartement est de bonne qualité, les meubles et la décoration de bon goût. Je le réfère à plusieurs personnes. Le seul bémol, l'entrée et la cage d'escalier du building qui mériteraient d'être retapés. Autrement si vous ne portez pas attention à ce détail, cet appartement est tout à fait parfait. Le propriétaire nous attendait à notre arrivée et nous a bien reçu. Nous y retournerions sans aucune hésitation.
