Set in a peaceful neighborhood of split-level homes on large lots, Newport Hills is in the heart of Bellevue, Washington, home of Microsoft and many other corporate headquarters. A conveniently situated village minutes from I-90 and I-405, it is only a short walk to the neighborhood grocery store, swimming pool and tennis club, soccer field/playground, Chinese restaurant, teriyaki takeaway, Sahara Pizza (a neighborhood favorite) and the Mustard Seed Bar and Grill for fantastic burgers.
To the west, a 15-minute drive away, all of Seattle, its downtown, waterfront beaches and neighborhoods, waits to be explored. Take a ferry from there to the Olympic Peninsula beaches and rain forests, the San Juan Islands or British Columbia.
A short drive, bike or bus ride away is the commercial center of Factoria which features Target, several large shoe stores, Nordstrom Rack, grocery stores, and a number of great restaurants, including Tokyo and OEShe for sushi lovers, I Love Pho for Vietnamese, numerous Chinese, Thai Ginger, Grazie Italian and local favorite burger joint Red Robin. There is also a multiplex theatre offering first-run movies.
Bellevue City Center is just ten minutes away, with its regional landmarks Bellevue Square and Lincoln Square as well as the Bellevue Arts Museum designed by Steven Holl. The two squares offer world-class restaurants and home to numerous flagship stores, making this downtown the number one shopping destination in the state of Washington.
If shopping isn't your thing, try the Meydenbauer Center for music and theatre performances or enjoy the out-of-doors nearby at Cougar Regional Wildland Area, the only nature reserve of its kind in the US, where hiking trails and waterfalls abound here in the Issaquah Alps, foothills of the Cascade mountain range. Our neighborhood beaches feature swimming and a boat launch on Lake Washington, large playgrounds and grassy fields as well as BBQ facilities and a nature walk, all just five minutes away. Did we mention all the dogparks on the Eastside? Many rivers in the area provide abundant opportunities for exploration and fishing, as well as rafting.
Stay at home and relax in our cozy cottage garden: strawberries, blueberries and raspberries may be harvested in season, and pick salad greens and fresh herbs for your meals. Enjoy the second-floor deck accessed by sliding doors from the living/dining area or the fire pit and water feature at the picnic area below in our large, fully fenced and private backyard.
