We loved this cabin in Glacier (Coram). Easy to find, beautiful and spacious. Mostly we enjoyed the privacy we found there. Lots of birds, squirrels, deer, beautiful flowers, and comfortable. The kitchen had everything we needed. We would gladly stay here again if we make it back up to Montana. So glad we found it. VRBO has not disappointed us in the many years we have been using it. The owner checked on us the day we got there to make sure we were comfortable. All the info we needed was there in the cabin with phone numbers in case of an emergency. The Glacier Grill was less than a mile from the cabin and we ate there 4 times. Very good food. We highly recommend this to our friends/family. The listing photos accurately reflected the cabin - we were very pleased when we got there. Our stay was without problems - we didn't want to leave. Thank you so much.

My wife and I lived in Montana for many years before moving to Mississippi. We have been back to Glacier National Park every year since we moved. Finding the Stengers' retreat was simply the best. From the moment you drive in the gate, the place makes you feel at home. Instantly, we saw birds, deer, and a turtle digging a hole to lay eggs which was interesting because we had never seen that before. Inside the house, everything one needs is available and easy to find. On this last trip, we brought our 80+ year old friend who also was entranced. From lunch on the porch watching the swallows, to cooking and having a glass of wine, the retreat makes you feel elegantly at home. Add to the retreat its nearness to Glacier and it cannot be topped. We arrived this summer after our plans to hike into Sperry Chalet were blocked, literally by snow, hiked into Avalanche Lake, and were on the road to Logan Pass the day the road opened to the public. Add to that a helicopter tour via Minuteman Aviation, the last helicopter touring site on the left before entering the park, and you have the experience of a lifetime. The listing description was accurate. The photos are good; the property was clean and super well-maintained. Kathy called and worried about whether the placemats were on the table when we arrived, and was extraordinarily helpful. We have encouraged our son, daughter-in-law and grandson to come and stay there with us. For us the park is the major attraction! We like to cook and have a glass of wine but did journey to Whitefish to see a play this summer. This is an easy drive and the setting for the play was wonderful. We have no reservations about recommending the Stenger Retreat to others and do it regularly.

We spent a week at this wonderfully equipped cabin. Anything you need for cooking, entertaining little people or adults is all there. Kathy and John have left a great list of activities to do for every interest and ability level. We loved the easy access to Glacier National Park and the quiet setting of the cabin when it was time to unwind at the end of the day. This cabin can comfortably fit a large group with spaces for everyone to be together as well as spots for people to break off from the action if needed. We will be staying again!

We stayed at this cabin the end of June 2011 and found everything we needed and then some. The solitude was wonderful and it was convenient to entrance at West Glacier. It was HANDS DOWN the best bed we've slept in while vacationing. The little things like a hand-held shower were appreciated. When we arrived the bird feeders were full and we watched the birds (and squirrels) as they emptied them more each day. The hummingibirds were fun to watch while relaxing on the porch. Kathy and John were great to work with from directions to hiking to dining. Their website provided a lot of valuable info in itinerary planning. As hosts they haven't missed a thing and the cabin was tastefully decorated and stocked. West Glacier Pizza had excellent breakfasts as well as pizza. Do not get taken by the Rawhide Steakhouse.

This property is fantastic! You are so close to the park, yet you are away from the crowds. The house is beautifully decorated, has all the right amenities and is a perfect place to relax after hiking in the park. The pond is a special addition...lots of birds and wildlife to view from the deck. Kathy is a a gracious host and has some wonderful suggestions for hikes. All in all, a perfect place to stay when visiting Glacier(which is breathtakingly beautiful).

We just spent a week at Glacier National Park and couldn't have asked for better accommodations. There were three couples and we enjoyed having our own personal space, yet area to hang out together. We ate on the porch and watched and listened to the wildlife. It was so hard for us to leave the peace and come back to "real life". The cabin was clean and well stocked with everything we needed. We spent a couple of evenings at the local "fun center" as we unwinded from long days in the park. Kathy was quick and helpful in responding to questions we had before our visit and during our visit. She is a great long distance host. We hope to return soon.

The property far exceeded my expectations. The cabin was very roomy, cozy, clean, well maintained and welcoming. We saw lots of wild life. It was a convienent location for visiting Glacier National Park. We enjoyed barbecueing and eating on the deck. I have already recommended it to a friend and hope to return there with additional family members in the future. The owner was courteous and very helpful.

My family and I really enjoyed the house and its close proximity to Glacier National Park. The house had a great feel about it and the birds around the property were amazing. Hummingbirds were buzzing back and forth all day. Painted turtles too. The owners did a nice job of making sure we had everything we needed. Very nice place.

With the crowds in Glacier Nat'l Park, it was a real joy to be able to go home to such a wonderful place. It made the trip. We would come back after a busy day, & have a great meal in a quiet and beautiful setting. Or we could just relax on that marvelous deck and watch the many critters. The bed was the best I have ever slept in, all of the amenities are first class, and everyone had their own space. The only down side is that it isn't located closer to Eugene! I would highly recommend this as the home base for any trip to Glacier Nat'l Park. Thanks for sharing your wonderful cabin!

Our stay at Glacier Retreat in July was truly outstanding! The anticipated "cabin" experience turned into thorough enjoyment of every aspect of Stenger's beautiful home. We were pleasantly surprised with more than ample space (especially loved the loft), very nice furnishings, and lots of things for our nine and twelve year old grandsons to do. One of our favorite activities was to sit on the porch and watch the wildlife...particularly the hummingbirds. A real plus was the convenient location to Glacier National Park. We all enjoyed our stay and highly recommend it!

We have rented from VRBO for many vacations and this cabin was the most well-stocked location ever. The closeness to Glacier provided easy access while providing a quiet and beautifully decorated retreat. A wonderful place for families.

Stayed at the Stenger Cabin for a week in early July. This is a great place to see the Park and just relax. Only 20 minutes from the airport (FCA) and 8 miles to the entrance of Glacier NP. The cabin is private, quiet and very comfortable. This is a highly recommended vacation getaway - scenery, quiet, comfort. We will return.

It is not an easy task to try pick out the perfect accomodations for one's vacation, especially if you haven't been to that particular area before. But this cabin is about as perfect a choice as one can make. 7 miles to the entrance of the park, out of town, very clean and well stocked for making your own meals, reasonably priced. I was also impressed that the owners contacted us the day of arrival to their cabin, checking to make sure everything was OK. Anyone looking for the best place to stay in Glacier Park, this should be your choice. P.S. The air hockey table in the basement is a great bonus. We had some serious games with lots of laughter (and sore fingers).

To Kathy and John My wife and I heartily agree your cabin exceeded its billing in VRBO, though it did not exceed your graciousness in dealing with us - and in booking us - on such short notice. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in what also turns out to be your vacation getaway. Its totality of accomodations and features, combined with the wonderful semi-remoteness in a forest setting, was everything we desired and needed to forget the asphalt, steel and humanity of "home" here in SoCal. If and when we visit the Glacier Park area again you will definitely be hearing from us. May your winter be one filled with peace, happiness and effortless miles of cross country skiing. Thank you! Hi, my name is George and my family and I recently spent 4-nights in this wonderful Cabin. On a scale of 1-10, this property is a 12..! The Cabin was everything I was told it would be, and the property owners treated us like first class. Everything was perfect. The size, decore, quality, location, amenities, cleanliness, landscape, view, weather, could not have been any better. Everything was perfect. The Stengers' exceeded our expectations! I would highly recommend this property to anyone who wants to live like a King in one of God's greatest landscapes. Very professional and very accomodating. Can't wait to come back! Thank you.
